Chapter 3126
Ivy was puzzled as she had not said much.
"I've met many people, and those who are both poor and spiritually rich are few and far between. At least, I've never come across one, so your family must be wealthy. If Lucas thinks so, then I believe in his judgment."
"All right. Having money isn't a crime, right? Can I continue working at your company?" Ivy asked.
Caspian assured her, "Of course! If you come from a wealthy family, I won't feel guilty asking you to do things."
Ivy found herself at a loss for words.
"All right. Go ahead and make the reservation! Remember, you must learn Ms. Feake's preferences. Order dishes she likes. Lucas and I aren't picky eaters."
Ivy said, "Lucas is a bit picky."
Caspian seemed surprised. "Huh? Is he? I've known him for so long, and I've never seen him being picky! He eats whatever I buy, and he's never told me he dislikes anything!"
Ivy agreed: "All right, got it. I'll take care of it."
With that said, Ivy left.
Caspian scratched his head in confusion, feeling as though Ivy knew Lucas better than he did, despite him being friends with Lucas for years.
At noon, Lucas, Caspian, and Ivy arrived at the restaurant Ivy had chosen.
The restaurant she had chosen was conveniently located near the company, being just a short ten-minute walk away.
Caspian had initially thought that Ivy would select a more upscale restaurant for the occasion, but she had chosen a relatively ordinary one. Caspian glanced at Ivy, asking, "Is this type of restaurant suitable for treating investors? Shouldn't we have chosen somewhere more high-end?"Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Ivy's brow furrowed slightly. "They
haven't transferred the money yet, have they? Since we're footing the bill now, we shouldn't be too
extravagant." She then turned ně
Lucas, seeking his judgment "Isn't that right, boss?"
Lucas had no objections about where they ate so he simply nodded. "Let's go inside."
Caspian shook his head and asked Ivy. "Did you let Ms. Feake know? Will she find the place all right? Shouldn't you have gone to the hotel to pick her up?"
"That won't be necessary; she can take a taxi. It's just a few minutes away. Let's just sit down for now," Ivy said.
"...This isn't very considerate. Ivy, I thought you were skilled at entertaining important guests, but now it seems you're not that adept," Caspian commented.
Ivy defended herself. "How am I not skilled? I called her and sent her the location. She said she'd freshen up and join us. She didn't even ask me to pick her up!" Lucas intervened. "All right, enough bickering! Let's sit down." With that, he took a seat in one of the chairs at the table.
Ivy took the seat next to him.
Caspian frowned. "Ivy, come sit next to me. Ms. Feake can sit next to Lucas. It will be easier for them to discuss business matters."
Ivy refused to move. "Sitting next to each other is hardly good for a conversation. It's better for them to sit across from each other so that they can see each other's faces when they speak. If they sit next to each other, they will need to turn their heads to talk, and that's hardly good for their necks."
Caspian fell silent.
Lucas turned around and said to Ivy, "Exchange seats with Caspian." "Huh?"
Caspian immediately stood with a smile and walked over to Ivy. "You can go ahead and sit across from us so that you can stare at Lucas all you want without worrying about your neck."
Ivy immediately got up and sat across from Lucas.
Caspian burst out laughing. "Ivy, you are so obvious. Ms. Feake seems to like Lucas, too. Are you jealous?"
