His Ex-wife Is An Heiress (Amara and Tobias)

Chapter 0045

Seeing the desperate look in Melanie's eyes, Amara, who was very much aware of her family situation and how precious their friendship was to the brunette, happily opened her arms, beckoning her in for a hug, which Melanie gladly accepted. "Please don't think like that, Melanie," Amara cooed, moving her hand in soothing circles against Melanie's back. "It's alright if you can't trust anyone with your heart right now. You don't need to force yourself to love, being just you is okay." Melanie didn't say anything to this and Amara didn't push the subject any further. A few more minutes were dedicated to hugging things out before they both pulled back.

"And besides," Amara began as she walked towards the couch and Melanie followed her like a lost puppy, sitting beside her. "You are aware that I have to move out at some point, yes? It's...something I need to face in life, not always depending on others."

Melanie looked a bit reluctant, but nonetheless, she nodded. "Alright. If you need help with finding a place, let me know. And just because you're moving out doesn't mean you'd suddenly vanish off the face of the earth," She pointed a finger at Amara, earning a laugh from the younger female. "Make sure to keep in touch."

"Will do, Ma." Amara saluted, and Melanie threw a pillow at her.

They both shared a brief fit of giggles, before a question popped into Melanie's mind.

At the mention of Bethany, Amara felt her anger spike up, especially when she remembered the bruises that painted the poor woman's skin.

"Something didn't go according to plan." Melanie pointed out after sighting her expression.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

"A lot of things didn't go according to plan," Amara huffed and paused, contemplating if she should tell Melanie all about Bethany's husband.

She respected Bethany's privacy, but knew that if she needed to get this done and quick, she definitely needed Melanie's help.

"So?" Melanie urged as the silence and Amara's obvious anger drew on.

"Bethany's being abused by her husband." She went straight to the point. "After meeting at the golf course today, she called me for help, when I arrived at her place, I found her bruised. Although the housekeeper was already taking care of her, those bruises still looked nasty."

"Did you call the police?"

Amara shook her head.

"Bethany pleaded with me not to do that."

"Does she love that scumbag that much-?"

"Her husband has nude pictures of her and threatened to spread them if she even thinks of divorcing him, talk less Calling the police." Melanie's expression morphed into one of disgust after hearing this. "She's trapped, Mel and I have to help her."

"For the cooperation?"

Amara shook her head without hesitation. "That bastard has been abusing her for only God knows how long and she's willing to throw away her pride for the sake of her mother's reputation. I can't stand that, she has to leave that monster,

for her own good."

Melanie thought and weighted options for a few seconds before nodding. "Alright, what do you have planned?"

"We need to first delete those

pictures from her husband's phone.

Once those are gone, Bethany's as good as a free woman." Amara explained. "But it doesn't end there. A scum bag like Jason would do anything to get back at her so we

need something to keep him at bay."

Saying this, Amara took both of Melanie's hands in between hers. "This is where you come into play, Mel. I need you to find dirt on that bastard. Your line of work best allows you to do that without any headache." Melanie nodded without hesitation. "I can do just that. Anything else?"

"A software, hacking wise, something that can get those pictures off Jason's phone like a virus."

"And how are you going to get it on his phone?" Melanie narrowed her eyes at Amara as she asked, having a faint idea of what her friend was going to do. "You're not..."
