Fifty Three
Automatically, the door shuts behind me as I pause on my track. Dominique sits on a leather chair behind a large desk.
Leonardo Gray sits on the opposite chair as he swivels around to look at me. Two pairs of blue eyes watch me and one of them holds so much intensity as I gulp, shifting my eyes to the large floor-to-ceiling window just to avoid the rush of heat Dominique’s intense gaze gives me.
Suddenly, Leo stands up as he says something to his brother that I can’t comprehend. I turn in time to see Leo walking toward me as he stops to give me a once over with a big smile on his face.
“Robyn. It’s always nice to meet you.” He stretches his hand to me and I take it.
“Likewise.” I return the smile. Slowly, Leo lifts my hand to his lips and plasters a soft peck on the back of my palm.
He drops my hand as he sidesteps me and walks out of the office. The minute I hear the mechanic door shut behind me, my senses heighten. Suddenly, there’s not enough oxygen and I can’t breathe. I can hear my heart beating in my ear at how his gaze burns into my skin. Dominique Gray leans back on his leather seat as he watches me with an intense gaze. Slowly, he checks me out, letting his eyes run through my body from my head to my toes.
“Are you done checking me out?” I ask as I take a few strides toward his desk.
The corners of his lips curl into a smirk as he looks up at me. “I wasn’t expecting you.”
“Is that so? I have a feeling you were.”
“Ah.” Dominique smiles as he looks at me again. “You look beautiful.”
His words are like butter, rich and smooth. I forget how his words make me feel and how his undivided attention on me makes me squirm. God, he looks gorgeous right now and I forget how to breathe. Shamelessly, I run my gaze down his body, loving how attractive he looks right now. He’s wearing a black two-piece suit, with the buttons on the suit jacket unbuttoned. The two top buttons on his white dress shirt are unbuttoned giving me a glimpse of the pec tattoo.
There are a few days old stubble on his defined jawline making him look more attractive. His hair is a little messy, from constantly running his fingers through the strands, just how I like it.
I clear my throat. “That is not why I am here.” I set the bouquet of lilies on his desk. “You wanna ask a girl out on a date and you got her lilies? Funeral flowers?”
Dominique is taken aback as he lets out a small laugh. The sound reverberates across the room and the vibration from the back of his throat sends a chilling wave down my spine. My stomach flutters at his deep laugh and how sexy he sounds.
“Funeral flowers? You’re the first person to ever say lilies are funeral flowers.”
“How about daisies? Or roses.”
“My bad. I’ll fix that then. Is that why you came?”
“No. Because you told Ross not to leave unless I agree to go on a date with you.”
Dominique smirks as he lifts one perfect brow, his eyes still locked on mine as he constantly rakes them over me. “Maybe because I had a feeling it would bring you here.”
“Of course.” I exhale as I glance around his office and how beautiful it looks.
About eighty percent of the wall is made up of a one-way transparent wall, with a clear view of his floor. The other part of his office which isn’t made up of transparent walls has a door at the end. My guess is that the door leads to his private bathroom. There’s a long light gray colored couch on one side of the office, and a small bar in the right corner, with expensive alcoholic drinks arranged on it. There’s a tall shelf close to the couch with different aesthetic crafts and decorations on it and a few hardcover books. I don’t think he reads that anyway.
His large desk is covered with different files, an Apple computer, with a view of New York City behind him. His office is beautiful and I can already imagine the countless women he must have brought up here as they had sex on his desk and even against the wall with the view of New York behind them.
The thought makes me cringe at once and I want to throw up.
“Nice place you’ve got here,” I say, glancing around before bringing my gaze back to him. “I can imagine all the fun you’ve had in this office.”
Dominique smirks. “If you’re trying to inquire if I bring women here for sex, then you’re wrong. I don’t.”
“That’s a first,” I say and he chuckles.
“I believe you didn’t agree to my offer because if you had, Ross would have been here instead.”
I exhale, standing by the chair Leo was occupying a few minutes ago as I cross my arms.
“What do you even want from me?”
“How about a date and I’ll tell you?”
I laugh breathlessly. “A date? Is that your own way of making me sleep with you again?”
Dominique tilts his head to the side as he smiles at me. “Is it working?”
“Not all. It’s not working at all.”
Dominique nods as he stands up at once. “You know,” he pauses as he walks around his desk to sit on the edge and I take a step back. “The last time I checked, you owed me a debt.”
I scoff. “So asking me out on a date is supposed to make us even?”Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“Something like that.” He says as he looks me in the eye. “What are you afraid of, Robyn?”
“I’m not afraid of anything.”
“Okay. Then say yes.”
“What’s the point? I’m not having sex with you again.”
He tilts his head to the side, smirking because he doesn’t believe me. “Is that so?”
I bite my tongue, hating myself for feeling this way. “Why do you have to make this so fucking difficult?”
“It’s so hard to stay away, especially when you push me away.”
“The reason behind pushing someone away is because they want them to stay away, and not come for them more.”
Dominique smiles as he surprises me by grabbing the belt of my trench coat and pulling me toward him. It happened so fast I couldn’t react. I’m too stunned to fight back as he settles me in between his legs, his strong arms holding me in place.
“What are you doing?”
“Trying to get you to relax. You’re so uptight.” His words come out breathy and deep, shutting down my brain.
Why does my body respond to his words and his touch? It’s like my body knows him and he knows how to command my body.
God, how can his words affect me this much?
“I’m not uptight.” The word is supposed to come out bold, but it slips out of my tongue in a whisper.
His fingers on my knee are distracting and I can’t seem to think.
“Why are you doing this?” I ask him.
“Doing what?”
“You know what I’m talking about, Dominique. Why are you doing this?”
Dominique exhales, his gaze fixed on me as he licks his bottom lip. “You do remember I once told you I am a patient man. And this is me being patient, letting you lie to yourself about what you really want when your body says otherwise.”
“Since you’re a psychic now, why don’t you tell me what my body wants?” I ask, the words rolling off my tongue in a whisper.
His arms are around my waist, pulling me closer and I don’t fight back. I hate to think that I’m enjoying this little game of ours and how well he knows my body.
“Is that a dare?” Dominique whispers as he slowly stands up, his strong arms still around my waist.
“It is whatever thing you want it to be.”
Dominique smirks and suddenly, he spins me around, lifting me off the floor and sitting me on his desk as he situates himself in between my legs. Okay, what’s going on? I came here to confront him about buying me lilies and maybe call him out for giving Ross an absurd order not to do this.
And why can’t I stop him? Why am I letting him touch me?
“You keep pushing my buttons every time you turn me down. Tell me, Robyn, what’s it you want me to do to prove to you, I fucking want you?” he whispers, his lips an inch from mine as his warm breath tickles my lips.
“You and I know you don’t want me. You just want to fuck me, Dominique.” I whisper, matching his burning gaze.
“You are forgetting I’ve already done that,” he whispers into my lips, leaning a lot closer than necessary. If he leans any closer, we would be kissing and the thought alone speeds up my heartbeat. “Or you don’t remember? Because I do. I remember every fucking detail. How you clenched your tight walls around my dick and milked me dry.” His dirty words leave me breathless and my mouth slightly parted.
He puts his right hand on my thigh as he slowly slips past the hem of my dress. His touch burns his way through as he brushes his slender fingers up my thigh.
This is bad, and it sucks that it feels so good.
“I still remember how you begged me to fuck you, Robyn. And maybe you’re right, I do want to fuck you again, but I want you all to myself. Every part of you. I want you to be mine.”
“Then you must be out of your goddamn mind. Because it’s not gonna happen again. Maybe you should check the next door.”
“Is that so? Care to tell me why you’re not wearing any panties then?” Dominique whispers, his eyelids heavy, with desire in the pools of his eyes. His fingers brush up the side of my hip as he gropes the flesh. I moan and bite my bottom lip when he pulls me forward a bit to feel his arousal.
“Tell me, Robyn. Why did you come to my office without wearing panties? What did you plan to do?”
I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t thinking when I pulled a dress down my shoulders and stepped out of my bedroom without panties. I guess the reason was I wasn’t going to stay long, might as well cover up properly with a trench coat. And I didn’t plan for him to plant me on his desk and slip his hands inside my dress to feel how wet I was. I didn’t plan any of this.
“Not everything is about you, Gray.”
Dominique smirks, and slips his hand out of my dress to wrap his hand around my neck. He doesn’t choke me, but the grip is tight enough to remind me he owns my body whether I lie to myself or not.
“It’s taking every willpower in my body to not kiss you right now.”
“Well, that’s a shame.” The words leave my mouth before I can register them in my head.
Dominique smiles, a smug smile on his lips as says. “I’m not gonna kiss you, not unless you beg me to.”
“Wouldn’t you be waiting a long time?” I ask, my eyebrows raised as I smirk.
“We will see about that.” Dominique pulls his hand away as he steps away from me.
He looks sexually frustrated even though he hides it perfectly well, masked with his usual confidence and cockiness. I get down from his desk, letting my eyes linger on his evident hard-on. I bring my gaze back to his face only to find him staring at me with lust in his eyes.
“One date,” I tell him, smoothing my hand over my clothes.
Dominique smiles, the little gesture nearly giving me a cardiac arrest.
“I knew you won’t be able to resist.”
“Yet you wonder why I loathe. God, you’re fucking cocky.”
“I think you mean confident. And you and I know you don’t hate me. You can’t even if you try.”
“Right.” I voice out, my hands in my trench coat pockets as I stare at him, unable to move when all I want to do is get out of here before we do something we might both enjoy. But my body refuses to obey my mind. Like a tick, I let my eyes run over his body, lingering on the strain of his pants at his evident erection.
I hate that I’m turned on by it. By how his length is straining against his pants begging to be released. A memory of that night flashes through my eyes, with me in his arms as he rammed into me in that hallway. As if Dominique can see the dirty thoughts in my head, he smirks and licks his bottom lip.
“You know all you have to do is say the words and we’ll make both our wishes come true.”
I raise my eyebrows, slipping out my tongue to wet my lips. “You wish. If I were you I’d do something about that.” I say, referring to his erection as I head toward his office door.
I can feel his eyes on my back, watching me. Slowly, I turn around and just like I predicted, Dominique is staring at me, eyelids heavy. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” I say.
Dominique responds with a flirtatious smirk that makes me weak in the knees. I shake my head, twist the doorknob, and hurry out of his office.
