Chapter 18: The Guy From The Mall

Chapter 18: The Guy From The Mall

As I entered the bar for the first time, I was immediately struck by the vibrant atmosphere and pulsating energy that filled the air. The moment I stepped inside, my senses were overwhelmed. The music thumped loudly, creating a rhythmic beat that reverberated throughout the venue. Colorful lights flashed and swirled, casting an electrifying glow on the dancing crowd. The air was tinged with the scent of perfume, sweat, and anticipation. The dance floor was packed with people, moving and swaying to the rhythm. Bodies seemed to merge together as they danced in sync, their movements a celebration of freedom and self- expression. The room seemed to come alive with the collective energy of everyone present. Some were even kissing and getting lost in the music. As I followed Joday and Doday through the club, I couldn't help but notice some people giving me judgmental looks and laughing at what I was wearing. I brushed it off, reminding myself that I came here to have fun and not worry about what others thought. After all, it was my first time in a bar, but I had a general idea of what to expect. Finding a couch to sit on, I immediately felt a bit overwhelmed by the lights and the loud music. I wasn't used to this kind of environment, and it made me feel a little dizzy. But I didn't want to spoil the fun, so I put on a smile and nodded when Doday asked if I was okay. Doday went to the bar to order drinks, and I took a moment to catch my breath and adjust to the atmosphere. When she returned with the drinks, she placed them on the table, and we all raised our bottles in a toast. With a mix of excitement and nervousness, I took a sip of my drink. I didn't even know what it was called, but I decided to go with it and drink it anyway. After all, I was here to experience something new and let loose for a while. The feeling of the cold liquid going down my throat was refreshing. It left a slight aftertaste that lingered for a while. With each sip, I started to feel more relaxed and warm inside. It was like the beer had a calming effect on me. "Wow, this drink is amazing!" Joday exclaimed with a wide grin on her face.

"Yeah, it's so good!" Doday added, raising her bottle in a toast. "We're living the life we deserve, right, Doday?" Joday laughed, clearly feeling the effects of the alcohol. While they were happily drunk, I struggled with the bottle I was holding, finding it difficult to keep up. I frowned and laughed along with them, feeling a little wild myself. As I continued drinking, the taste became more familiar, and I found myself craving more. I grabbed another bottle from Doday's hand and downed it in one gulp, prompting cheers from Joday. We kept drinking, and at one point, Joday and Doday went to dance in the center of the bar. They returned to our table accompanied by a group of men. I watched in surprise as Joday and Doday started kissing the men right in front of me. It caught me off guard, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of awkwardness. The man sitting next to me from the group whispered, "Are you jealous? Let's join in, miss. Want to kiss, too?" I was taken aback by his boldness. I smiled and retorted, "Dream on, man." Ignoring the bitterness of the alcohol in my throat, I continued to drink, trying to drown out any lingering thoughts. He chuckled in response to my remark. "Just kidding. By the way, you look familiar to me," he whispered again. Is this guy a chatterbox? He won't stop whispering. "If you're going to say 'you look familiar, maybe because you're my future' then just stop. It's too cliché," I slurred, fully immersed in the drunken haze. He let out a weak laugh. "Is that the alcohol talking? You're assuming, miss. Seriously, though, there's something about you that feels familiar..." "Wait! You're the lady from the mall! The one who was about to be stumbled on the escalator!" he exclaimed suddenly. I turned to look at him, trying to focus my intoxicated gaze. Could it really be Kurt? The memory of my embarrassing mishap at the mall came rushing back, making me realize how clueless I had been. "Lyka, right?" Why does he keep talking? I just came here to have fun, not to engage in a

conversation. "It's me, Kurt." Oh, so he is actually the Kurt guy from the mall. That's all the confirmation I need. No need for a long introduction since I already thanked him before for helping me. "Okay, yeah, hi Kurt," I mumbled, not really interested, and continued drinking. He kept on yapping, like a chatterbox. Are all men like this? I sat there looking like a fool while he rambled on about something. I didn't pay much attention to what he was saying. I really want to go home and rest, but Joday and Doday are still busy with their endless flirting and kissing. Kurt remained seated next to me. "Are you okay? Do you need to use the restroom? Or do you want to go home and rest?" he asked, concerned in his voice. I nodded, feeling the effects of the alcohol taking its toll. "Y-yes, but Joday and Doday aren't done yet..." I replied, glancing at the two of them absorbed in their own little world. Alcohol can really mess with your head. "Well, I can accompany you..." he suggested, but I wasn't thrilled by the idea, so I quickly shook my head. "N-nah, Doday and I have a car..." I muttered. "Then I can at least walk you to your car... You look like you might pass out if you try to walk on your own," he said, and I reluctantly nodded in agreement. He said his goodbyes to Doday, who simply nodded in response. He supported me by taking my arms and putting them on his shoulders. We walked slowly, and even though my eyelids were heavy and drooping, I could still sense our movements. Without his support, I would have probably ended up on the floor, nearly unconscious. As we reached the parking lot of the bar, I pointed to the red car, assuming it was Madam's. Manong, the driver, was standing beside it, confirming my guess. I felt a strong urge to vomit, but I fought it back. It would be so embarrassing if I threw up right now. "Is that your car?" Kurt whispered, and I nodded in response. He even greeted the driver, who was standing by the side of the car. Kurt helped me into the backseat, and I sank into it, finding some much-needed relief. As I looked towards the front seat, I noticed someone sitting there. The driver was outside, and Joday and Doday were still inside the bar. So who was this personAll text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

sitting in the front seat? Kurt interrupted my thoughts with his words. "Wow, you really shouldn't have been drinking if you're in this state..." I cut him off. Is it true? Is the person in the front seat actually Sir Kiro? "S-Sir Kiro? What are you doing here?"
