Rose at Home
Rose and Miles returned to Young Estate. They left the ball early. Upon returning to Young Estate, they found Oliver hadn't rested yet.
Oliver personally approached Rose. He noticed she coming in wrapped in a towel, wearing Miles' suit jacket, and with soaking wet hair.
"Rose, what happened? How did you end up like this?"
Rose sneezed immediately after Oliver's words.
Oliver's expression tumed grimmer. He immediately directed the butler, "Hurry, have May set up the bath. Rose, go take a shower first, don't catch a cold."
Rose did need a soak in a hot bath. She gave Oliver a reassuring glance but didn't say much, then proceeded upstairs to her room.
Oliver's expression grew even more grim.
He glanced at Miles and asked in a cold tone, "If I recall correctly, tonight was the Chambers twins birthday ball. You take Rose out, and this is how you both come back? What went wrong?"
Filled with self-condemnation, Miles said, "It's my fault for not protecting her. We faced some unpleasant incidents at the ball. But Grandpa, rest assured, I'll ensure they all explain. Oliver finally eased up on Miles.
His cane struck the ground forcefully as he said coldly, "Hmph, the Chambers family? Warren Chambers should have shown proper respect to Rose. Who does Warren think he is? My granddaughter visits their house, and he dares to mistreat her!"
After a moment's contemplation, Oliver decisively opted to take matters into his own hands and instructed, "Bring me the phone, I'm calling Warren."
Patrick swiftly fetched the phone and dialed a number. The call connected in just a second. Warren was home, ready to retire for the night.
The ring of the phone prompted him to swiftly rise from his bed, a smile gracing his face as he greeted, "Mr. Young, it's rather late. What can I do for you?"
"What can you do for me? How can I trust someone from your Chambers family?"
Oliver's tone remained even, yet his simmering rage remained thinly veiled.
Warren was immediately on alert. He was more shrew than Thomas and understood that Oliver had visited Aquastead.
He immediately speculated, "Mr. Young, did Thomas Chambers make a mistake?"
You're good at guessing. Since you've figured it out, ask him yourself." Oliver hung up the phone immediately after saying that.

Warren didn't waste a moment and immediately dialet Thomas' phone.
When Thomas heard that Oliver was angry, he was romentarily stunned. He swiftly concluded the ball, bid farewell to everyone, and immediately sought out Bonnie to discuss the events of the evening "What's Mr. Young angry about? The only incident today was the girl falling into the pool
Bonnie wore a puzzled expression as she glanced at Thomas. They still couldn't grasp any connection between the girl brought by Miles and Oliver's anger.
Meanwhile, Rose had just finished her hot bath. She knew there must be a reason behind why those people would team up to bully her today.
However, she retaliated in kind, so she soon let go of the matter. The moment she walked out of the bathroom, she saw May delivering a bowl of hot soup to her.
"Ms. Rose, I've prepared a hot soup for you. Mr. Young and Mr. Miles instructed that you must drink this soup. Please don't catch a cold."
May placed the hot soup on the table and was about to leave when Rose called out to her.
"Do you need anything else, Ms. Rose?" May turned and inquired.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Rose's eyes glimmered slightly as she asked, "Has Anastasia back?"
"Ms. Young hasn't returned yet. She mentioned before leaving today that she had an important appointment tonight and wouldn't be back," May answered as she noticed Rose's subtle change of expression.
"Is there a matter you wish to discuss with Ms. Young, Ms. Rose? If it's urgent, you can contact her by phone," she continued asking.
"No, it's okay, nothing serious," Rose flashed a smile,
Following May's left, Rose's heart remained in a state of deep unrest.
She couldn't shake off the image of her star escort husband from her mind. She attempted to dial his number several times but hesitated every time.
She eventually went ahead and called her star escort husband, but she was still met with a switched- off phone.
Rose felt suffocated and restless. She longed to drift into sleep, hoping to evade the tumultuous thoughts.
Yet, her mind remained engulfed in an endless whirlwind of thoughts, refusing to grant her the solace of sleep.
Opting for a change of attire and a stroll, she stepped out of her room, coincidentally encountering Miles walking out of his room.
"Miles?" Rose said in surprise.
Ever since that night when Miles saved her life, she got into the habit of calling him "Miles." It felt a bit awkward at first, but now she viewed Miles as her brother. However, Miles found himself increasingly disliking this address.
After assessing Rose for a moment and observing her with a bag, he frowned and asked, "Are y going out? You just fell into the pool, what if you catch a cold
you
"Don't worry, I'm quite strong. I just want to make a quick trip to Zenwood Gardens... to pick something up," Rose said with a glint in her eyes.
Miles understood her going to Zenwood Gardens wasn't merely about picking something. It immediately brought her husband to his mind
Miles didn't inquire further and he said, "I'll fetch you there."
As Rose remained hesitated, Miles had already gone back to his room. When he came out again, he was already dressed differently. Rose realized his concern and chose not to refuse him. Upon arriving at Zenwood Gardens, Rose got out of the car and entered the house by herself.
Miles watched as her figure gradually disappeared into the distance, yet he didn't immediately drive back to Young Estate.
Miles looked at a building where previously dark rooms now had lights on. He wasn't sure if Rose was in that room, but he continued to stare at the illuminated lights, lost in thought. When Rose entered, she found complete darkness around her. The expectation she had kept in her heart fell instantly to rock bottom. Her star escort husband wasn't at home... Rose took a deep breath and switched on all the lights in the room. She glanced at every familiar corner, feeling as though her star escort husband's presence lingered in each place. She felt as if she was cursed as she even regretted returning from the Young Estate.
Rose didn't want to dwell on any upsetting matters. She fetched several bottles of white wine, red wine, and beer from the fridge.
Sitting on the sofa, she kept drinking, seemingly intent on getting herself drunk. Meanwhile, a luxury car raced through the intersection of Zenwood Gardens.
Jonathan gritted his teeth, beads of sweat cascading down his striking face. The bullet wound on his shoulder blade had been bandaged, his black shirt casually draped over it.
"Mr. Finch, this is undoubtedly Jack's doing again. He arranged for his brother-in-law to meet you while orchestrating an ambush. Even though his brother-in-law took a bullet for you, I believe it's a ploy to deflect responsibility, and then there's Ms. Young..."
The recent incident left Finley feeling discontented and aggrieved. There was a certain level of personal acquaintance between Mr. Finch and Lucas Caldwell, who was Jack's brother-in-law.
He arrived at Aquastead today and arranged to meet up with Mr. Finch and Ms. Young. Due to their
previous acquaintance, Mr. Finch accepted the invitation.
Unexpectedly, someone barged into the dining room and fired at Mr. Finch. Both Lucas and Mr. Finch were struck by a gunshot.
"Mr. Finch, shall we return to the hospital? If Mrs. Finch sees you looking like this, she might start questioning," Finley said, glancing at Jonathan with concern through the rearview mirror. Jonathan leaned against the car window, seemingly oblivious to what was said and his gaze fixed on the outside.
Just as the car was about to pass by Zenwood Gardens, he immediately rolled down the window. With a mere glance, he fixed his gaze on the house belonging to him and Rose. The lights were on, Rose was at home!
