Chapter 51
The door barged open, followed by a scream. I shot out of bed ready to fight whatever might come my way. As my eyes still struggled to open, a bunch of different giggles bounced off the walls. When my eyes finally opened, I saw Layla Freya and my mom all standing at the entrance door. Laughing at me.
"I bet this is comedy gold", I said, before climbing back into bed. I threw a pillow over my head and the blankets over that, getting ready to fall back into dream land. Suddenly, the blanket was yanked off my body in one swift motion.
I curled up into a ball, keeping my pillow over my head as an attempt to hide from both the sun and their voices.
"Scarlet, it's your mating ceremony today", Layla said in a serious tone. I hopped out of bed again. How could I have forgotten?
Today will be the biggest day of my life. I had a little happy shuffle and everyone giggled again. I glanced over at the bedside clock and saw that it was 6 am.
My eyebrows rose and I shifted my questioning gaze between the lots of them.
"Why so early?"
"Early? My dear, it's late. Your ceremony will take place at noon. That leaves us with very little time for error. You have to have a message, a wax, hair and makeup has to be done. "Yes scarlet. We've got a lot of work to do" my mom chimed in.
"Well, thanks mom I didn't know I was that much work,"
"No my dear, you are beautiful, but you have to look your best today." I rolled my eyes at her statement and then remembered something.
"Wait waxing?" I had never gone for a waxing session in my nether regions, never mind my whole body. Besides, isn't it too late for that I've heard it takes days to heal?
"Calm down, Scarlet, you'll be all healed up by tonight, so you and Lucian can enjoy your night", Layla said whilst moving her eyebrows in that suggestive manner again.
Both my mom and Freya shook their heads in disgust, probably wishing they hadn't just imagined their children being intimate.
I blushed the shade of cherry red and gave an embarrassed giggle, unsure of what to say.
"Let's get moving ladies", Freya said, followed by the clap of her hands. In stormed a lot of omegas, ready to wax and coat me in all sorts of masks, makeup and clothes with the intention of making me glow.
After hours of being plucked, sucked in and dolled up, I waited in front of the mirror anticipating what i would look like. The mirror was covered with a sheet waiting for my reflection to take place.
Layla, Freya and my mom all stood holding their hands in front of their mouths in a praying position. Their eyes sparkled and Layla jumped up and down in excitement.
At that moment, they all seemed like a copy of each other. My mom started to shed a tear and I quickly pulled her into a hug, trying to comfort her. I hated seeing her cry.
"I'm just so happy that you can find happiness through all the troubles that have plagued your past weeks" Her words made me shiver at the thought of everything that had happened.
It made me think of the person I was before I found out Asher was my mate. Would that Scarlet have believed all of this? Would she have handled all of this?
I held onto my mom for a while just enjoying our embrace. Freya suddenly pulled us apart with a frantic panicked look on her face.
"No tears for you Scarlet, the ceremony will be taking place within 30 min and we don't have enough time to restart your whole look", she said, and we all giggled.
I then stood facing the mirror. Preparing myself for anything that might come. Specifically, me not recognizing myself. I then nodded at Layla, letting her know I was ready.
In one swift motion, she pulled the sheet from the mirror, revealing my-best-self. I was wearing a white floor-length dress.
It had a slit to show off my biggest asset, which was my long legs. It had a v neckline with flutter sleeves. The top and the sleeves were rhinestones that were shaped in a pattern that looked like vines.
The bottom, however, was plain white but flowy and angelic. My shoes were a satin pump with a sharp toe and a bow that was in netting on top with a pearl in the middle.
My hair was done in a modern ponytail that draped elegantly over my scalp and neck. There was a loose fishtail braid on one side of my head that had a few small flowers tucked into it before cascading down the ponytail.
My makeup was light and also angelic. It had a gold and light brown that layered my eyelids. My features were enhanced slightly but not dramatically to shape my face into someone else's. My blush was light and the same n**e pink that covered my lips.
My eyelashes were coated in a dark brown instead of black, making me seem more elegant and natural. I looked just like the woman from my dreams.
"Please tell me you don't hate it", Layla asked, ripping me from my trance.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
I blinked a few times to shake off the shock and to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I turned to look at the three of them and saw their nervous looks.
"It's better than perfect" I said, taking the first breath I have had in a while.
"Well, if you can knock your own breath away you sure will knock Lucians away" my mom said with a warm smile.
"Thank you" I said I full appreciation.
"Don't" Freya said stopping me in my train of thoughts.
"You are a future Luna and our daughter" She said swinging her arm around my mom's shoulders like two close friends
"There isn't something we wouldn't do for you" My mom continued. We all joined in a group hug with Freya, making it very clear to be gentle with the art work.
"It's time to go. Are you ready scarlet" Layla said as we broke the hug. I nodded my head before swallowing the lump that stuck in my throat. "If not now, then when?"
