Chapter 1011: The Decision Lies with Yanis

"I know the decision lies with Yanis, but I still want to give it a try," Ryan said softly.

"Then Mr. Baxter may have approached the wrong people because we can't make decisions for Yanis,"

came Martin's voice from the doorway.

Ryan looked towards the entrance and saw Martin coming in. He stood up and greeted, "Mr.

Thompson."

Martin approached Ryan and said, "Whether you want Yanis to acknowledge her or just see her, you

shouldn't come to us. We won't persuade her or make decisions for her. You should go and ask Yanis

herself. As long as she agrees, we won't have any objections."

Ryan felt somewhat uneasy as he looked at Martin and said softly, "I came here because I had no other

choice..."

"Did you already go to see her before?" Martin interrupted before Ryan could finish his sentence.

Ryan hesitated for a moment and nodded, "Yes, I did, but she was very firm in her decision."

Antonio chimed in, "Since she doesn't want to, that means she's not interested. Even if you hold a knife

to her throat, she won't easily give in."

Although his relationship with Yanis had been delicate over the years, and they had even been on

opposing sides since they were young, Antonio still understood Yanis. If she didn't want something,

even if you held a knife to her throat, she wouldn't yield easily. So, if she had already refused, then

nothing else would work.

As they were speaking, the doorbell rang.

Antonio glanced at the door and went to open it.

"Sis."

Antonio called out softly when he saw Yanis.

Yanis nodded and stepped inside.

Antonio followed her and whispered, "He seems to want Mom and Dad..."

As Antonio spoke, he remembered the complicated relationship between Yanis and Olivia, and he

changed his words, "He seems to want us to persuade you."

After hearing Antonio's words, Yanis paused for a moment and asked him, "What do you think?"

"Me?" Antonio was taken aback.

Yanis nodded, "Do you think I should acknowledge her?"

Antonio met Yanis' gaze, hesitated for a moment, and then replied, "This decision should be in your

hands. Whatever you decide, we'll support you."

Yanis didn't say anything in response to Antonio's words. Instead, she turned and continued walking

into the living room.

When Yanis entered the living room, both Martin and Olivia, as well as Ryan, looked up at her.

Yanis' face remained expressionless, and her first gaze landed on Ryan.

"Uncle Baxter," Yanis greeted Ryan.

Ryan felt even more awkward but managed to nod, "Yanis, I came here to..."

"I know why you came. Didn't they tell you that we have a bad relationship?" Yanis interrupted him

before he could explain.

Ryan's expression became even more uneasy. He opened his mouth to say something but realized that

his purpose for coming was already evident. Saying something now to excuse himself wouldn't be

appropriate.

As he thought about what to say, Ryan swallowed his words. "I know. I just wanted to try and have you

meet her again."

"I already went in the morning. I said what needed to be said. Is it not clear enough? Should we write it

down on a blank paper with black ink and sign it?" Yanis' tone was somewhat harsh, catching Ryan off

guard.

Yanis felt her reaction was too strong. In truth, she couldn't explain why she had such a big reaction

this time.

After Yanis finished speaking, a long silence followed.

Finally, Antonio broke the silence, "Since my sister made her position clear, let's go along with what she

said and not say anything else."

Martin looked at Antonio and then at Ryan, whispering, "We respect Yanis' decision."

Olivia added, "Yanis has always been in charge of her own life."

Although the Thompson family's words appeared neutral, in reality, the whole family stood firmly behind

Yanis.

Ryan also realized that if Yanis nodded, no one would say anything. And if Yanis refused, it wouldn't

matter what he said.

At this point, Ryan didn't say much anymore. He got up, "I understand Yanis' thoughts now, so I won't

disturb you any longer."

After saying that, Ryan gestured to his secretary, and they left the Thompson family's home.

Once Ryan left, Yanis looked at Martin and Olivia, "I still have things to do, so I'm heading back."

"Yanis," Olivia's voice came from behind as Yanis turned to leave.

Yanis stopped and faced Olivia, who said softly, "I heard from Mr. Baxter that her condition is not good

and she might not have much time left..."

"I already went in the morning," Yanis said softly, "We can discuss what happens next another time."

After replying, Yanis turned and left without saying anything else.

Olivia sighed as she watched Yanis' figure disappear.

"Antonio, go and see your sister off," Olivia instructed Antonio quietly.

Antonio nodded and caught up with Yanis.

"Sis!"

Antonio called out to her as he followed.

Yanis slowed her pace and waited for Antonio to catch up.

Walking side by side, Antonio hesitated before whispering, "Sis, Mr. Baxter said she's not doing well

and just wants to see you."

"They've used that argument more than once," Yanis said softly. "Antonio, if it were you, would you

forgive her for everything just because of this?"

Antonio fell silent for a moment after hearing Yanis' question before replying, "No."

Yanis nodded, "Then why should I forgive her?" Antonio looked at Yanis but couldn't find the words to

say. After all, everyone's experiences were different, and he couldn't fully understand what Yanis had

been through. Antonio knew better than anyone else how Yanis had been doing all these years, so he

had no way and no right to say anything. Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

Seeing Yanis off at the door, Antonio watched as she got into her car and then took a step back. "Drive

safely."

Yanis nodded, "You should go inside."

Just as Yanis was about to drive away, Antonio called out to her again, "Sis."
