Chapter 1056: Love Until I Want to Lock Her Up

Their relationship with Maya came to an abrupt end. At a gathering, after a few drinks, Doctor Dobbin

pointed at Kason and said, "I know what's best, so I graciously let you have her!"

Kason nodded and poured some wine, saying, "Thank you." Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

And so, the dynamics between them were set.

Although they appeared carefree at the time, they all knew Doctor Dobbin's heart wasn't in it.

Even though Doctor Dobbin was reluctant, there was nothing he could do. Back when Brandon and

Maya were still in university and engaged, they had effectively pushed Doctor Dobbin out of the picture.

As the elevator doors opened, Doctor Dobbin collected his thoughts. Stepping out of the elevator, he

locked eyes with Anthony, who was standing by.

Doctor Dobbin paused for a moment and then looked at Anthony. "Why aren't you heading to the

office?"

Upon seeing Doctor Dobbin, Anthony straightened up. "You know the Hawkins brothers."

"Indeed," Doctor Dobbin replied without hesitation, walking towards his office. "Let me offer you some

advice-be more carefree."

Anthony glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. "Carefree? How am I supposed to do that?"

Doctor Dobbin retorted, "Miss Thompson doesn't like you. She sees you as a friend. Clinging to her like

this isn't appropriate, is it?"

Anthony didn't respond immediately. Instead, he walked past Doctor Dobbin and entered the office.

Taking a seat, he said, "Were you carefree when you were in love?"

Helping himself to some water, Doctor Dobbin mumbled, "Quite carefree, and I knew when to act."

Anthony watched Doctor Dobbin, taking the water glass and bringing it to his lips. "That's truly carefree.

But I'm not like you. Unless she gets married, I won't give up."

"Just that infatuated?"

Anthony was blunt, "It's love."

Doctor Dobbin raised an eyebrow. "Love?"

"Love to the point where I want to secretly lock her up. So she'll be mine alone, and no one can take

her away."

Doctor Dobbin chuckled, teasing, "You're really twisted!"

"You wouldn't understand!"

Doctor Dobbin grunted. "Indeed, I don't quite get it. I don't understand why you're pining away for

someone who's in a mutual affection, waiting for her to acknowledge you. Are you that pitiful?"

"In the world of love, the one who loves the deepest is inherently pitiful."

At this point, Anthony lifted his gaze, looking at Doctor Dobbin. "You're not pitiful enough, which is why

you haven't succeeded."

Doctor Dobbin was momentarily taken aback by Anthony's unconventional theory. After a brief silence,

he finally spoke, "So, being pitiful is the key to success?"

"I'll succeed more than you."

Doctor Dobbin found it hard to argue with Anthony and nodded in response. "Alright, maybe I wasn't as

pitiful as you back then. I never even had a chance to speak up; I was stifled."

Anthony laughed, "You really have no backbone."

Doctor Dobbin didn't engage in further banter. After a short pause, he whispered, "Are you really

planning to do something morally questionable and make her get rid of the child?"

Anthony placed the water glass down. "I haven't sunk that low."

After saying this, Anthony fell silent for a few seconds before asking Doctor Dobbin, "Is she alright?"

"Everything's normal."

Anthony nodded, running out of things to say.

Observing the sudden quietness, Doctor Dobbin finally spoke up, "Are you... not really bringing her

along for that purpose? Is it just to ensure she's alright?"

Anthony didn't respond to Doctor Dobbin's words. Instead, he whispered, "I want to be carefree, but I

can't."

As he said this, his voice was barely audible.

Watching Anthony, Doctor Dobbin wanted to say something but swallowed his words. After a moment

of hesitation, he finally spoke, "They'll probably sort things out soon, clear up misunderstandings, and

reconcile."

"Isn't that a good thing?"

Suddenly, Doctor Dobbin was at a loss for words.

In truth, he could understand Anthony's actions to some extent. It might offer some relief to his heart.

...

Viteto Airport.

When Stella saw Sandy arriving with Brandon, she let out a small sigh of relief.

"Hey, sis."

Sandy approached Stella and greeted her.

Stella nodded, "Weren't you supposed to come together?"

Sandy lowered her head without saying a word.

Brandon also greeted Stella.

Stella looked at Brandon. "Sandy can be a bit stubborn. Be patient with her."

Brandon shook his head. "No, she's fine."

"Let's head back," Sandy interrupted, pulling Stella towards the car.

Knowing that Sandy was still troubled by the matter between Brandon and Olive, Stella refrained from

saying more and got into the car with Sandy.

As they settled into the car, Sandy turned to Brandon. "Take us to the hotel."

Brandon was about to say something when Stella chimed in, "Brandon, listen to her. Take us to the

hotel."

Upon hearing Stella, Brandon nodded and murmured, "Sure."

The car started, heading to the hotel Sandy had chosen.

The journey was quiet.

When the car stopped at the hotel entrance, Sandy was the first to open the door and get out. "Sis,

come on."

Stella stepped out and looked at Brandon in the driver's seat. She spoke softly, "I'm a bit hungry.

Brandon, could you get some food and bring it over?"

After saying this, she turned to Sandy. "Room number?"

Sandy hesitated for a moment before reluctantly giving out the room number.

Stella looked at Brandon and asked, "Remember it?"

Brandon nodded and looked at Sandy, hesitating to speak.

Stella murmured, "I'll go in first. You two can talk. I'm not that hungry."

Without waiting for Sandy's response, Stella turned and walked toward the hotel.

Once Stella had left, Sandy also intended to leave.

Brandon reached out and held Sandy's hand. "Sandy."

Sandy struggled to free her hand from Brandon's grip, but he held on tightly. Eventually, she stopped

resisting and looked at him. "What do you want?"

"I'm sorry, Sandy."

Sandy's brow furrowed upon hearing Brandon's apology. "What are you sorry for?"

"I shouldn't have let things escalate with her. It was my fault."

Brandon looked at Sandy, his voice soft and coaxing. "Sandy, I'm sorry. Can you forgive me? I promise

to maintain an appropriate distance from other women, even Maya, and Lucas."

Brandon made a sincere pledge.

Sandy asked, almost inadvertently, "And if I were carrying a daughter? Would you keep your distance

from her too?"

Brandon was momentarily stunned before a smile crept onto his lips. "Sandy, can I apply for an

exception? To be closer to our daughter, but you will always be the one I love the most."
