Chapter 1118: Sometimes Fate Has Other Plans
After leaving the flower market, the two of them went shopping for a few more things before returning to
D-King Castle.
When they arrived, Allan, Mitch, and Reed were already there.
"Yanis." Reed stepped forward to greet her as she closed the car door and approached. Looking at
Reed, Yanis asked, "Have you lost weight?"
Reed glanced down at himself and replied softly, "I might have lost some weight during this period.
Allan's been cooking all sorts of things for me, but do I look thinner?"
Shaking her head, Yanis said, "I feel like you're a bit slimmer than before."
"That might be because you haven't seen me for a few days, so you notice the change more," Reed
responded.
As they were talking, Allan joined in, "I haven't been mistreating her. Based on her weight, she's gained
two pounds. But somehow, she looks thinner than before. I don't understand it either."
Finishing his sentence, Allan sighed, "Maybe the good food she eats is just for show. The truth is, not
much of it actually ends up in her stomach."
Allan grumbled, "Don't blame me. I can't force-feed her, can I?"
Reed raised an eyebrow slightly and didn't comment.
"Let's go inside," Yanis said softly to the group as Zane parked the car and joined them.
Yanis walked ahead with Reed, Mitch following behind them. Allan and Zane walked side by side.
Zane, with some items in hand, was on the phone with Albi. "I understand. Deal with it through
Phoebe."
Ending the call, Zane turned to Allan. "Something on your mind?"
Allan raised an eyebrow slightly, "Is it that obvious?"
Zane put away his phone, "We'll talk later?"
Allan made a sound of agreement, "Not in a hurry. Do you have plans later?"
Zane checked the time on his watch, "After lunch. Is it urgent?"
Allan shook his head, "No rush."
"Let's discuss it after lunch then."
Zane entered the house, then remembered something and turned to Allan, "Do you know how to take
care of flowers?"
"Huh?" Allan thought he heard wrong and turned to Zane. "Flowers?"
Zane nodded, changed his shoes, and set down the items he was carrying. "I've tidied up the backyard
these days. I want to plant some flowers. Once the weather cools down a bit, Yanis can have afternoon
tea there."
Allan was quite surprised by Zane's words. "You want to grow flowers? Do you know how? You're not
going to kill them in three days, are you?"
Zane stared at Allan for a few seconds and then walked away.
Allan watched Zane's retreating figure, touched his nose, and finally followed him inside.
Before long, Sandy arrived, laden with bags. Standing at the doorway, she called out, "Yanis, help me
for a moment."
Hearing Sandy's voice from outside, Yanis got up and headed towards the entrance.
"Wow, Miss Thompson, why do you have so many things?" Aunt Alice opened the door, taken aback by
the numerous bags Sandy was carrying.
Sandy leaned against the doorframe, laughing. "I bought some ingredients for hot pot. Can we have
hot pot tonight?"
Aunt Alice laughed too. "If Miss Thompson wants it, I can go buy it for you later. Why bring everything
here?"
Sandy explained, "I carefully selected these items. They're going to taste amazing. I bought everything
we need."
During her time in Viteto, Brandon's dietary requirements for her were very strict. She couldn't eat
anything that he disapproved of. And with morning sickness, Brandon was even more attentive to her
diet.
Now that she was in Manches City, she was out of Brandon's reach. Sandy could finally indulge herself.
She went shopping early in the morning and bought everything she wanted to eat.
Coming out from inside, Yanis was surprised at the pile of items by the doorway. "Why did you buy so
much?" NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Sandy grinned, "There were just too many things I wanted to eat. Does Mr. Lawrence restrict what you
eat?"
Hearing Sandy's words, Yanis could understand her feelings. "Are you planning to finish all of it today?"
Sandy nodded, "That's my plan, but after buying everything, I think it'll last me ten days."
Yanis smiled helplessly. "Is Stella busy? Why didn't she come with you?"
"The shop is busy, and Aurora is struggling to handle it alone," Sandy said, handing the things she was
carrying to Aunt Alice. "Aunt Alice, please bring these inside for me."
Aunt Alice made a sound of agreement and took the items inside.
Yanis helped carry the rest and couldn't help but be amazed. "You went shopping all by yourself?"
Sandy cleared her throat. "I had some help."
As for who helped, Sandy didn't say, and Yanis didn't ask. But it wasn't hard to guess. Besides
Anthony, Yanis couldn't think of anyone else who would be so unwaveringly supportive of Sandy.
"Sandy," Reed greeted her.
Sandy nodded at Reed. "Long time no see."
Originally, when Sandy arrived, she wanted to complain to Yanis about her recent experiences.
However, because Reed was there, Sandy naturally avoided discussing anything related to pregnancy
in front of him. She didn't even mention a word about being pregnant.
During lunch, Aunt Alice and Aunt Gloria prepared some shrimp dumplings. After eating, Allan and
Mitch left first as they had things to attend to. Zane remained in the backyard after the flowers were
delivered.
In the living room, only Yanis, Sandy, and Reed remained. They say that when three women gather,
there's no end to the conversation. They chatted away until afternoon, when the three of them went to
take a nap in the guest room.
Yanis had a penchant for napping, so when Sandy and Reed woke up, Yanis was still asleep. Not
wanting to disturb her, they quietly left the room and headed to the living room.
"Awake?" Sandy, the earliest riser among them, was lounging on the couch watching a variety show.
Reed nodded and took a seat beside her. Sandy offered him the plate of fruits she was holding and
softly inquired, "How's your recovery?"
Reed nodded gently. "Allan has been taking care of me well."
Sandy had already planned out how to comfort Reed, but his response caught her off guard. Yanis was
at a loss for words.
"Sandy, I'm fine. You don't need to worry," Reed looked at Sandy with a hint of a smile and said softly,
"You don't have to tiptoe around me. I'm not that fragile. And sometimes, when things don't go as
planned, fate has other arrangements."
