Chapter 1121: Always By Your Side
When Sandy heard Allan's words, she let out a slight hum, "My Brandon is nothing like you stingy! And
what's wrong with having hot pot with Anthony? We're friends. Can't we have a meal together?"
As she spoke, Sandy leaned a bit closer to Allan and spoke in a hushed voice only they could hear,
"Allan, I have a secret here. Do you want to hear it?"
Upon hearing Sandy's words, Allan's first thought was about Reed.
However, after meeting Sandy's gaze, Allan became uncertain.
With her sly eyes fixed on Allan, Sandy's words made him a bit anxious, "What secret?"
"Are you sure you want me to say it in front of Reed? Aren't you worried he might get angry?"
Originally, due to Sandy's gaze, Allan was already unsure. After Sandy's question, his uncertainty grew.
He even felt a bit panicked.
"I haven't done anything to upset Reed, so why should I be afraid?" Allan feigned calmness.
Sandy smiled and moved closer to Allan, "Yesterday morning, who did you meet?" All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
When Allan heard this, his expression immediately changed.
It wasn't because he had done something that upset Reed, but because the person he had met earlier
was someone he knew from being around Nealon. He had a favor to ask, and they had worked
together closely when they were both at Nealon's side. Since they had spent quite some time together,
they really had no significant connection. After all, Reed was the one who occupied his thoughts.
However, the other person had expressed their feelings, whether intentionally or not. So, there might
be some misunderstanding in some of their behaviors.
After a brief silence, Allan cleared his throat, "Miss Thompson, I also believe Mr. Hawkins isn't petty. If
you'd like, I'll join you for hot pot today, and if you ever want hot pot again, I'll be there at your call."
Sandy raised an eyebrow, "Alright."
Reed glanced at Sandy's face, obviously curious about what Sandy had just talked about.
But Sandy suddenly stopped and didn't continue. Naturally, Reed didn't press her further.
However, it was clear that Reed's mind wasn't fully engaged for the rest of the time.
Allan noticed, and so did Sandy.
"Reed, have some of this," Sandy offered Reed a dish, leaning over slightly to whisper, "Don't worry,
Allan definitely hasn't done anything to upset you. If you're curious about what just happened, you can
ask Allan. But I think if Allan doesn't want you to know, then it's probably not important. He can handle
it, and he doesn't want you to worry."
After hearing Sandy's words, Reed nodded slightly, "I know, I trust him."
"That's right, just relax. He only has you in his heart."
Sandy's teasing made a faint blush appear on Reed's face, but his mood had clearly improved from
earlier.
After the group had finished their lively gathering, everyone left after being full and satisfied.
"Sandy, should I have Zane drive you back?" Yanis turned to Sandy after seeing off Allan and Reed
and asked in a gentle voice.
Sandy waved her hand, "No need. I didn't drink, and later I have to pick up my sister from work. Mr.
Lawrence doesn't need to make a special trip."
Yanis was still a bit worried, "But it's late. Are you sure about driving alone?"
"It's fine. I'll wait in the underground parking lot of the mall when I arrive. My sister can come down by
herself. No one will be peeking at the car window."
Seeing Sandy's response, Yanis didn't insist any further, just nodded, "Alright, then let me know when
you've picked up Stella."
Sandy nodded, "Sure, go inside quickly."
After Sandy drove away, Yanis withdrew her gaze and turned to Zane, "Let's go inside."
Zane made a sound of agreement and took Yanis's hand as they entered the house.
"Did you eat enough just now?" Zane asked as they walked.
Yanis hadn't eaten much in the evening, but she had consumed quite a lot of fruit.
"I'm not hungry anymore. I had so much fruit earlier; I'm a bit full." Yanis recalled.
Zane smirked, raising an eyebrow, "Even after sleeping so much in the afternoon, you're still sleepy
now?"
"Pregnant women are always sleepy; no amount of sleep is ever enough. I'm already tired." Yanis
closed her eyes, feigning sleepiness.
Zane chuckled softly, "Alright then, you sleep. I'll be back in a bit."
Without responding, Yanis simply pushed herself under the covers a bit, settling in to sleep.
"Did you sleep in the afternoon for so long and still feel tired now?"
Yanis covered her face with a pillow, her voice muffled, "Pregnant women are always sleepy. I'm tired
even though I've slept a lot."
Zane laughed lightly, "Fine, then you sleep. I'll be back soon."
Yanis didn't reply, and Zane got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up. He returned to the
bedroom, settling on the other side of the bed, and gently pulled Yanis into his arms.
