Chapter 123 Don’t Mind Her
"Let me."
As the male doctor was about to disinfect the injury for Yanis, Zane suddenly said.
Yanis and Bonnie looked at him at the same time.
Zane walked over in a few steps and stood in front of Yanis, repeating, "Let me."
Bonnie immediately refused, "Mr. Lawrence, we appreciate it. But we got this."
Then Bonnie looked at the male doctor, "Do it."
The male doctor took a subconscious look at Zane and then began to disinfect for Yanis.
Yanis hissed because of the pain.
Bonnie put her hand at Yanis's mouth, "Bite my hand if it hurts."
Yanis shook her head, "I can take it."
"Zane..."
Just then, Neve called Zane's name.
"It hurts..."
Bonnie glanced at Neve, "Mr. Lawrence, there's someone who really needs you. I've got Yanis here."
Zane frowned, looking at Yanis.
Yanis wasn't going to speak, but she couldn't bear the gaze. "Go check her."
Catherine did not like Neve, but after a look at Yanis, she said to Zane in a low voice, "Just go, we've
got Yanis here."
Zane took a look at Catherine, hesitated, and walked over to Neve.
Looking at his back, plus the pain from her palm, Yanis suddenly felt a sharp pain and couldn't help
groaning. There were tears in her eyes.
She didn't know if it was simply because of the pain in her palm or something else.
Catherine saw it and comforted her, "Yanis, you will feel much better soon."
Hearing her words, Yanis didn't say a word but nodded.
But what she saw out of the corner of her sight stunned her. She got tears in her eyes recalling how
Neve stabbed her in the heart with that knife and tears fell down her eyes, dripping to her palm.
Seeing the tears, the doctor who was treating her wound, was stunned and looked up at her.
Yanis wiped her tears and said, "Go on."
The doctor didn't say a word but continued to get the broken glasses out of her palm.
Yanis had fair skin and the broken glass in her palm looked horrifying.
"Yanis."
Bonnie called her name in a low voice.
Yanis looked at Bonnie with the tears in her eyes. Bonnie saw her pitiful look and felt sorry.
She wanted to say something, but eventually, she simply hugged Yanis, "It won't hurt anymore."
Yanis finally broke down upon hearing her words.
Bonnie could feel Yanis trembling slightly and said with a smile, "You are a grownup now and you still
can't handle pain?"
She seemed to be talking about physical pain, but she was actually making an excuse for Yanis.
Catherine sighed, looking at Yanis in Bonnie's arms, and turned to the other side.
Neve wasn't hurt too badly, there was a small injury on her head but a lot of bleeding. It looked scary.
But she would be fine.
However, Neve had been holding Zane's hand, tears constantly falling down her eyes. She looked
pitiful.
"Miss Cooke, it's done."
Bonnie gently patted Yanis on the shoulder, looked at the doctor, and nodded to him, "Thank you."
"You're welcome, this is my job."
Bonnie didn't say anything more. She looked down at Yanis, who was leaning her head on her
shoulder, "Yanis, it's okay now."
After a long while, Yanis finally processed her feelings and let go of Bonnie's hand.
Her sight fell on Zane, who was standing next to Neve and holding her hand tightly.
Yanis got a lump in her throat again.
Bonnie blocked Yanis's sight, "What's to look at? It's disgusting."
At Bonnie's words, Yanis looked back and turned to Bonnie and whispered, "Let's go."
Bonnie nodded, "Let's go. What happens next has nothing to do with us."
Yanis nodded, and said nothing more.
She had wanted to say goodbye to Catherine, but Catherine had gone to Anika's room.
Lucia's reaction just now made Yanis resist meeting her, so she didn't go say goodbye to her.
She just said goodbye to Edison and Miller, who were sitting in the living room.
Edison looked at Yanis's bandaged hand, "Was it serious?"
Yanis shook her head, "I will be fine." Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Edison stared at Yanis, as if he had a lot to say. In the end, he simply said, "Then you should go home.
Should I ask Zane to drive you?"
Yanis refused, "No, I will leave with Bonnie."
Edison said nothing more, but nodded, "Okay."
He didn't ask her to stay, nor did he mention what had happened tonight.
Yanis nodded at him and walked toward the door.
Watching Yanis leave, Miller turned to look at Edison, asking, "Do you know something?"
After hearing Miller's question, Edison looked back. "What would I know? Young men have their own
way of solving things."
Speaking of this, Edison paused. "Lucia has gone too far today."
"I would talk to her."
Edison nodded, stood up and left the living room.
On the other side, Zane frowned when he saw Yanis leaving and wanted to go after her.
But Neve suddenly tightened her grip of his hand and hissed.
The doctor who was helping Neve with the wound said, "Miss Bennett, I'm sorry. I will be gentler."
Neve smiled. "It's all right."
Then Neve looked up at Zane, her voice was soft, "Zane, can you stay with me?"
Zane lowered his eyes and met Neve's, frowning.
Neve glanced at the door, did not say anything more. She held Zane's hand even more tightly and
looked pitiful.
But Zane saw the threat in her eyes.
Anika was what Neve got on him.
Zane's care and love for his sister was her trump card.
"Miss Bennett, you are alright now. But don't let your wound meet water in the next few days. If you feel
dizzy, go to the hospital to do a further examination."
After helping Neve with the wound, the doctor said.
Neve answered, "Thank you."
"You are welcome."
