Iris then went around to the back, opened the trunk, and took out her stuff from the car.
Yanis came forward to help. When she was about to grab another bag, Iris stopped her. "Just take
these and I'll take the rest."
Yanis was a little embarrassed. "Why don't I go up first and come down to help you with the rest? There
are too many things, and you can't carry them all together."
After closing the trunk, Iris bent over and picked up the rest of the items. "It's not heavy, and we will
take the elevator. There's no need to run again."
When Iris said this, Yanis didn't say anything more. She said thank you quietly and started walking.
After following Yanis inside, Iris looked at the empty living room, "You haven't bought everything yet?"
Yanis put the things on the ground, and said, "the sofa should be delivered tomorrow or the day after
tomorrow. I will check the other things later. It's almost done, I don't need many things living alone."
"Just because I am off today, I will go with you to shop later. It is not easy for you to carry all the stuff
alone. In order to thank you for helping me pick out the things for Magnus yesterday, I will do free labor
for you today."
Yanis smiled and said, "Mr. Duncan, you are welcome. I just picked something for Grandpa Travis. No
need to mention it. I can buy it by myself, I don't want to bother you."
Iris stood by and looked at Yanis with a smile. "Miss Thompson, are you always like this to everyone?"
When Yanis heard Iris's words, she was stunned for a moment. "No, I just don't think I should bother
you."
Iris didn't give Yanis a chance to refuse, "So just assume that I was sent by Magnus to help you, okay?"
After that, it would be pretentious for Yanis to say no again.
With a chuckle, Yanis responded, "it's going to be a hard day for Mr. Duncan."
"It had been an honor to serve Miss Thompson."
The two went to the same mall they had visited the day before.
Yanis didn't drive. Iris drove his own car.
Because it was morning, there were not many people in the mall, and the parking lot was relatively
empty.
Iris parked his car at the exit where they would finish their shopping.
Before getting out of the car, Iris took a phone call and Yanis went to take the shopping cart.
Iris stood beside the car, watching Yanis's back and listening to what Yanis was saying over the phone.
Iris said calmly, "if they want to postpone it, let them do it. Tell them that I am not in the office today, and
if they really want to do this project, let them come back tomorrow morning."
"But they're here now, Mr. Duncan."
Iris frowned. "It's your job to send them back. Why did I hire you?"
The assistant said in distress, "but Mr. Duncan, you didn't say you'd take the day off."
"And I have to give you a heads-up about my day off?"
The assistant coughed. "That's not necessary."
"Then you know what to do, that's all."
After that, Iris hung up.
Iris, with the phone in his hand, looked at Yanis standing in the line not far away and frowned slightly.
Today, he took the day off. It was just a temporary idea.
He had feelings for Yanis. He never denied it.
It was just that he didn't have much free time. Besides, he and Yanis had only met twice before today.
Both of those two situations were very casual, Magnus only made an introduction.
After that, they never met, even though the City of Manches was small.
He had planned to let Magnus hook him up when he was done with his business.
He didn't expect to meet Yanis at the mall yesterday.
But... Iris had a purpose for accompanying Yanis to go shopping today.
He was curious about Zane's relationship with Yanis.
The last time he was at Shippou Restaurant, he sensed that Zane was hostile to him.
He had done business with Zane before, and there was no conflict between them. So, to Iris, Zane's
hostility was a little confusing.
Yesterday, however, he probably had a guess.
But Iris didn't jump to conclusions until things were confirmed.
When Yanis reached for the cart, Iris stepped over and said, "I'll push it."
Iris pushed the cart in a gentlemanly way, talking to Yanis as she walked inside, "did you get everything
for the kitchen?"
Yanis shook her head. "Not yet."
"Let's go and have a look first."
Yanis nodded and went to the cutlery section with Iris.
"You need all the pans, pots, and other small stuff."
Yanis chose an octagonal pot and a set of utensils to go with it.
Iris also had some suggestions.
It was a lot like two people choosing things to live with together.
"I think this color is good, which matches the dinner plate you chose." Iris reached out and pointed to
the square bowl Yanis had near her.
Yanis heard the sound and looked in the direction of Iris's finger. "It does match."
When Yanis was about to put it in her shopping cart, someone knocked her and the bowl dropped to
the floor.
The beautiful square bowl broke into pieces.
Yanis unconsciously frowned.
"Yanis?"
Yanis heard the sound and looked up at the person who bumped into her, a little startled. "Why are you
here?"
Iris was going to say something, but when she saw Yanis's reaction, he stopped.
Standing in front of Yanis was a young boy who looked just like Yanis.
So, Iris was able to tell who that person was to Yanis.
"What does it have to do with you?" Antonio gave Yanis a faint look.
Yanis looked up at the girl standing next to Antonio, her fine eyebrows curling slightly. "Shouldn't you
be at school at this time of day?"
Antonio looked cold and impatient. "Don't worry about me. It's none of your business where I am."
At this point, Antonio's eyes suddenly fell on Iris and he hissed. "You, did you divorce that guy? What
are you doing here hooking up with another man?"
Yanis' face suddenly changed and looked embarrassed.
"Antonio!"
Antonio raised his brow high. "It looks like he doesn't know about it. Yanis, you have no shame!"
"Are you Antonio?"
As Antonio finished speaking, Iris put his hand on his shoulder. "I think you may have misunderstood.
Your sister and I are just friends, not the way you think."
Antonio glanced at Iris and tried to take his hand off his shoulder, but Iris pressed slightly harder on
Antonio's shoulder. "It was rude of you to say that to your sister. Should you apologize to her?"
Yanis was not surprised by what Antonio said. It was only because of Iris that Yanis felt embarrassed. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
"No, Mr. Duncan, please let go of him."
Iris looked at Yanis and was about to let go of him. Antonio suddenly raised his hand and pushed Iris
away. He looked at Iris coldly. "Do you have any money? If you don't have money, stay away from her!"
