TRUE STORY
Samarra immediately stopped Ezekiel as he was putting away her food to wash her plate.
“It’s okay; I can do it,” she said.
“Take a bath, get dressed, and talk.”Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
She stumbled when Ezekiel went behind her to push her out of the dining area.
“Get out of here, Miel; your scent is no longer pleasant.”
Her brow furrowed as she raised both arms and sniffed her armpit. She screamed. She smelled nothing. She doesn’t stink. She frowned when she heard a weak laugh.
Her eyes narrowed as she turned to face Ezekiel, shaking with laughter.
“You see, you are now aware of yourself. That is how you should deal with what is happening to you.”
She frowned at what Ezekiel said because she didn’t understand what he meant. He pinched her cheek and smiled.
“Go,” he told her.
She did nothing but comply with his wishes. She sighed before nodding and leaving.
Samarra took a quick shower.
Maybe she needed someone to talk to right now. She rushed down to Ezekiel after getting dressed. She noticed him sitting face down in the living room, holding his cellphone.
“Kiel,” she said, and he turned to face her and stood up.
Ezekiel approached her and led her directly into the swimming pool. They both stood there staring at the pool water. Ezekiel appears to be at a loss for words.
“Do you remember my story about the tulips, Miel?”
She nodded because she remembered.
That story is about a boy who falls in love at first sight with a baby girl he plans to marry one day. The boy did it to prove himself worthy of the girl’s family. He worked hard, saved a lot of money, and studied. From childhood to adolescence, he observes the girl from afar. But everything changed one day when the woman died. Tulips are the story’s title because they represent perfect and deep love. When a man loves a woman, his passion endures even if she passes.
“You don’t have to explain what happened to you and Zachary; fight for your marriage. Don’t make the same mistake I did.”
As he said goodbye, Ezekiel patted her on the shoulder. She was about to accompany him and go out when Ezekiel stopped her.
“Here.”
She frowned and looked at Ezekiel’s keycard and address.
“What exactly is it?”
He leaned down and squeezed her cheek.
“Your future.”
“Future?”
Ezekiel nodded and looked up at the sky before wrapping his arms around her and kissing her brow.
“Your happiness is also my happiness, and I wish you nothing but the best,” Ezekiel said softly before releasing her from his embrace.
She stupidly stood by the swimming pool before going to the address Ezekiel had given her. She had a feeling she’d run into Zachary there.
She climbed the stairs and changed her clothes. She also took money to pay for the taxi.
She was stunned when she left the house. When she saw Zachary walk in, she could see how Zachary drew his brows, and his gaze moved from head to toe before returning to her face. He stopped in front of her before grabbing her arm and dragging her inside.
“Is this what you want?” As they entered the house, Zachary growled.
Samarra stumbled as she noticed Zachary’s rage. She didn’t bother to tighten his grip on her arm.
“Answer me! Is this what you’re looking for, uh? You want to divorce us because you love my brother.”
Samarra couldn’t help but hear Zachary’s voice rattle, and she could see different emotions in his eyes.
“You are why my sister-in-law, Gab, abandoned my brother. And you are the reason Zeke couldn’t find Gab. I knew it. Zeke was always uncomfortable when Dad insisted on replacing me to marry you. You have a relationship with him, my fool because I fell for someone like you. You are a user. You have no objections because I will fulfill your desire to be Mrs. Buenavista. Do you know what hurts?” Zachary inquired, tears welling up in the corner of his eye.
“You’re pushing me to others so you can freely meet Zeke in our house.” Zachary nodded before releasing her arm.
“You love Zeke, don’t you?”
She shook her head and sobbed at Zachary’s revelations.
Gab left Kiel because of her. She was unconscious at the time. She had just awoken and had separated Kiel from his wife. Ezekiel doesn’t tell her anything because she knows he has no idea why Gab left him.
Why would Zachary be so quick to accuse her?
“Please, Samarra, give me an honest answer.”
Samarra sniffed before looking at Zachary with tears in her eyes.
“Yes, I love Zeke,” she admitted weakly.
Zachary cursed her.
“I knew it… I-”
She quickly hugged Zachary, and as he turned away, she could hear his constant swearing.
“Please… Calm down, let’s talk,” Samarra pleaded with Zachary, tightening the hug from behind him. So he couldn’t get away from her.
“I met Ezekiel when I was fifteen, and I admired him. I thought he was the one I could marry, but he wasn’t because he was getting married at the time. So I’ve learned to forget everything I feel for him.”
She took a deep breath before continuing.
“When I was sixteen, Ezekiel was on vacation in Australia and invited me for a stroll because he couldn’t attend my birthday party. I expected us to walk around Australia, but we didn’t. We went to Paris, and our happy trip was cut short by a tragic incident. I was kidnapped by unknown men and awoke in a car, blindfolded and handcuffed.”
Zachary touched her arms wrapped around his waist, not to remove them, but to tighten them around his waist.
“The only thing on my mind at the time was to get away and escape. My legs were free and not tied, so I kicked the front seat and heard the gun pull at my side. When I heard a gunshot, I knew the car I was riding in was spinning until I heard a loud crash.”
She first closed her eyes and remembered what had happened to her.
“I just woke up in the hospital after being unconscious for a year. Now tell me how I was the reason Gab left Ezekiel?”
Samarra let go of Zachary’s waist when he didn’t respond.
It didn’t matter to her whether Zachary believed her or not. The important thing was that she had expressed her feelings.
“I’m sorry; I had no intention of hurting you or anyone else. Don’t worry if you file for divorce; I’ll find a way to make our separation easier. So, you are free to marry whomever you want.
