I Refuse to Divorce

Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Zoe might have fought with him and wanted a divorce, but she would not do it at the cost of her health. What’s more, she was really hungry. The barley porridge was tasty and easy to swallow. She felt much better after eating a bowl of it.

Mason leaned against the wall in front of the window. The dim light from the sky shone on his face, highlighting his handsome features. His neatly trimmed hair and sophisticated attire brought out his elegant charisma.

He lit a cigarette but did not smoke it. Sticking his arm out the window, the evening wind scattered the wisp of smoke. There was a faint smell of tobacco in the bedroom that blended perfectly with his aura.

He put out the cigarette when she had finished eating the porridge and looked at her, “Grandma called. She wanted to see you. What say you?” RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Barbara had always been nice to Zoe. She did not have the heart to break her spirit by telling her about their divorce. However, Barbara would find out about it eventually. It was just a matter of time.

After contemplating the matter for a while, she said, “You should explain everything to her, Mason.”

“What do you mean?” He stared at her intensely. “Am I supposed to tell her you’re not coming because we’re divorced? In a hurry, are we? What’s the matter? Are you worried that we’ll keep you from pursuing your happiness?”

Zoe had no intention of explaining herself to him. She rose, intending to get changed and leave the place. However, he stood in her way.

Pinching her slender arm, he said mockingly, “Consider it me buying your service. Twenty thousand dollars. How’s that sound?”

Try as she might, she could not shake him off. Mason swiped her phone, unlocked it, and removed his contact number from the blacklist. Then, he transferred twenty thousand dollars to her.

He said sarcastically, “You earn a measly two thousand dollars per night, working for Leslie.”

She said mockingly, “The fireworks show you put on for Lilith must’ve cost you at least a million dollars!”

In the dim evening light, Mason looked at her and asked again, “What are you trying to say, Zoe?”

Aggravated, she said, “I’m not saying anything! Let me go, Mason!”

However, Mason exerted more pressure on her arm. He fixed his gaze on her. His look would have been enough to make any woman weak in the knees.

Much time had passed, and he pulled her in closer. Zoe was almost pressed completely against him. She could feel his chest rising and falling through his shirt.

Mason leaned into her ear, the smell of his aftershave strong, and said, “Tell me. What do I have to do to make you say something?”

He was the one who asked her a question, but it seemed he did not plan on hearing her answer. At the next moment, he guided her hand to unbuckle his belt and his pants.

Zoe was a little shocked. Then, he kissed her. Her slender waist was in his arms when they fell onto the couch. Mason was kissing her passionately and panting without reserve.

Pressing against her forehead, he was brushing her lightly with his nose. It was wet where their flesh pressed against each other.

That was unexpected. None of them were prepared for this. He could not think clearly. All he wanted to do was to kiss her and have sex with her. Deep down, he knew he was doing this for some reason other than satisfying his carnal need.

It was the first time he had felt this way about her. He wanted to see her in tears, her body going completely soft beneath him. He wanted to hear her voice. Landing passionate kisses on her ear, he said with a seductive and husky voice, “Just this once!”
