Chapter 76 Leaving The Residential Compound
Chapter 76 Leaving The Residential Compound
Cherry then went back home and walked all over the house because she wanted to copy it in her mind.
Even though she wouldn't live in it anymore, she would be happy to have a home in her heart.
She stood in front of their wedding photo, and as she looked at the two people in it, Cherry let out a wry
smile. The two people in the photo looked very affectionate, but did they really love each other?
The next day, Cherry got up early, and she knew that Jackson would be home in the afternoon.
She went back to the residential compound in the morning. As soon as she got there, she saw John's
car in the yard, and immediately realized that John and Lucia might be inside Andrew's house.
Cherry didn't flinch, because she knew that it might be her last chance to see Andrew. She respected
him a lot, and Andrew had always treated her well since she had married into the Chu family. She had
been wronged only once, but that wasn't Andrew's fault.
When she walked into the house, the butler immediately saw her, and was surprised by her sudden
visit. He said, "Mrs. Cherry, why, why are you back here today?"
Cherry looked as usual, and with a smile on her face, said, "I'm free today, and I came back to see
grandpa."
The butler then cheerfully said, "Come on, come on in, your sister-in-law is also here now."
With these words, the butler then led Cherry to the living room.
When she saw Lucia and John sitting in the living room, Cherry didn't look a bit surprised, and instead
looked towards the direction where Andrew was.
Andrew was very happy when he saw Cherry come in. He smiled happily at her, and said, "Cherr, it's
so nice to see you!"
"Morning, grandpa! I've missed you, so I came here to see you, " said Cherry.
"Jackson is still in the barracks, isn't he?" said Andrew. When he saw Cherry alone, Andrew knew that
his beloved grandson was at the barracks. Derek was also not in the residential compound, and he
figured out that they must be busy in the army.
"Well, he'll be back later in the afternoon. Because I'm free today, I came to see you first, " said Cherry,
with a smile on her face.
"Good, good; you're always so considerate, and I'm really happy to see you here, " said Andrew.
"Grandpa, we should visit you as often as we can, " said Cherry. Meanwhile, she heard Lucia whisper,
"Such a hypocrite!" Lucia's tone was obviously not kind. Andrew had had a nice chat with her before
Cherry had come in on them. Now, Andrew focused all of his attention onto Cherry, and ignored Lucia.
'How could I be so nice to her?' she thought.
Cherry remained calm, and pretended not to hear what she said. She smiled, and said to her, "Lucia,
it's so nice to also see you here. Today's all about coincidences!"
"If I had known that you would be here too, I wouldn't have come here today in the first place, " said
Lucia with disdain in her voice. She hated Cherry because her son was fascinated by her, and had
even divorced his wife because of her.
"Mom, please don't say anything like that!" said John. He knew that his mom disliked Cherry, but he did
not want Cherry to be embarrassed, especially in Andrew's presence.
"Why? If it hadn't been for her, you would have still been married!" said Lucia. She was not about to let
Cherry go that easily.
Cherry stood there and said nothing, and although she was distressed, she still wore an indifferent
expression on her face.
John was too angry to say anything more to her. Although he was very dissatisfied with his mom, in This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Andrew's presence he could only keep his silence.
"Lucia, " suddenly said Andrew, making Lucia restrain herself on her words.
Andrew took a deep breath, and then said, "It was John's decision to divorce Jean, so please don't look
for other excuses any longer."
Andrew knew exactly what had happened. John had divorced Jean because Cherry's good friend had
passed away, and if he had guessed it right, Jackson must also have done something to Jean.
After hearing Andrew's remark, Lucia didn't dare to say anything more, and instead glared at Cherry.
When Andrew saw that the tensed atmosphere eased a little, he smiled, and said to Cherry, "Cherr,
you'll stay for lunch with me, won't you?"
Cherry then looked at Andrew with a smile on her face, and said, "Yes, grandpa."
Looking at Cherry's smile, Lucia wanted to murder her. It seemed that Cherry's position in the Chu
family was even higher than hers.
John was happy when he heard that Cherry had agreed to have lunch there. Although he knew that it
was impossible for him to be with her, he felt delighted to eat with her. He didn't expect much from her,
but he just wanted her to be happy, and he wanted to get along with her peacefully.
At the table, Cherry sat next to Andrew, and talked with him happily while they had their meal together.
John ate quietly, but Lucia wore an angry look as she sat beside Andrew.
After lunch, Cherry said goodbye to Andrew, and left.
She was so moved that she almost burst into tears when Andrew escorted her to the door. She knew
that she might never see him again in the future.
Cherry then touched her belly, and said in her mind, 'Baby, look at your great-grandpa and remember
him, because he's your father's most intimate family member.'
Cherry then looked at Lucia, who was still wearing an angry look on her face, and said to her in her
mind, 'You've disliked me since the first day I dated John. You can be happy now, because you'll never
see me again in the future.'
Finally, Cherry looked at John, and she saw that there was still love sparkling in his eyes, but she knew
better than anyone else that it was impossible for them to be together again. Let bygones, be bygones,
as the saying went.
Cherry then got into her car, and just before she left, she accidentally glanced at the butler who was
standing beside Andrew. An idea came into her mind, which surprised even herself. She thought that
the butler was not as ordinary as he looked, instead he was someone unfathomable.
As she left, Cherry shook her head, and blamed herself for what she was thinking, and quickly
dismissed the idea.
