Chapter 854 A Mysterious Caller (Part One)
Chapter 854 A Mysterious Caller (Part One)
"She can be of help for us," Sally said frankly, "We don't have to do everything ourselves."
"Well, I don't understand what you are trying to say," Sharon replied, feeling bewildered with the turn of
events. 'What's her plan?' she wondered in her mind.
Noting Sharon's baffled expression, Sally tried to explain things to her. She said, "According to what we
have found out, Rebecca and Lawrence were classmates and she wanted to be a part of his life. But
now she has been forced to terminate her contract with the JC Group in advance. This is fishy, and I
guess Lawrence could be behind all this. If we inform her that Lawrence is dating Aria, what do you
think she will do?"
Thinking about Sally's question, Sharon replied, "Rebecca loves Lawrence, so she will not let Aria win
his love at any cost. If they both fight, I am quite sure Rebecca will emerge as a winner," she analyzed.
A smirk emerged on Sharon's face. She really wanted to see Lawrence in trouble.
"Rebecca has been in the show business for years. She had to struggle a lot to reach this position. She
wouldn't have been here if she wasn't a smart woman," Sally said musingly. 'I have full confidence in
her abilities. All I have to do is to incite Rebecca's anger and encourage her to win her love back. Then
I can see the number of problems that would arise in Lawrence's life.'
"What a brilliant idea! Why didn't I think about this before?" Sharon murmured, as she realized the
extent of what Sally was planning. "Once we have let Rebecca take care of Aria, we won't even need to
get our hands dirty in this mess. We can just stand by and watch. In the end, Aria and even her sick
mother might also face troubles," she continued in an emphatic manner.
"Your stepson has done us a favor. We should thank him for this," Sally said coldly.
"Oh, yes, you are right. If we hadn't met Greg that day, we wouldn't have left and met Aria, and neither
would have thought of such a good idea of getting back at Lawrence," Sharon echoed, feeling grateful
to Greg. She took a seat next to Sally and rested her eyes on her. "Tell me what do we do next, Sally?"
she asked.
"I need some pictures of Lawrence with Aria. I will ask Rebecca to come and meet me and show her
these photos. I'm sure she will fly into a rage once she sees the photos. It will be an interesting drama
which would be fun to watch," Sally demanded, feeling that everything was under her control.
"Okay. I will go and sort the pictures out," Sharon answered.
...
In the downtown World Trade Center, Rebecca's anger knew no bounds as she dropped her cell phone
on the floor furiously. With a livid face, she raised her chin and crossed her arms over her chest silently.
It seemed that her fury was going to go out of the roof today.
"Miss Rebecca, please don't be so angry," her manager who was standing next to her tried to persuade
her to calm down and not let the anger go out of control.
"Lawrence isn't in his company again. Where is he? Did he again go abroad? why? Or is it that he is
trying to avoid me?" Rebecca thundered. Rebecca had no idea why Lawrence could have gone
abroad. Every time she called his office, his assistant answered the phone and told her that Lawrence
wasn't in the country. She really wanted to know why he had gone abroad.
"We have no dealings with the JC Group. How can we get to know why Lawrence has gone abroad?
But, what's the matter even if Lawrence isn't in the JC Group office?" the manager tried to console her
with a confused look on his face. Suddenly he thought of something. "Well, I forgot to tell you that a
director had called me yesterday. He said he has a new drama in mind and that you will be the perfect
person for that role. How about we go and meet that director?" he suggested.
"That's not a very good idea. I will only accept roles that the JC Group arranges for me," Rebecca said
with a resolute expression.
"Are you kidding me? You don't work for that group anymore. They won't give you any kind of work. Do
you understand that?" the manager reasoned with a helpless expression.
Rebecca paid no heed to what her manager had said. "When I meet Lawrence later, I will make him
change his mind about that. I know he still has feelings for me and he will never forget me," she
snorted.
At that moment, Rebecca's phone started buzzing. The manager picked up the phone and quickly gave
it to her.
Rebecca slightly suppressed her anger. She cast her phone a momentary glance and found that it was
from a stranger. She didn't intend to answer the phone at all. After a thought, she decided to pick it up
just in case it was an important call.
"Hello," Rebecca answered.
"Is that Rebecca Lin I am speaking with?" Sally asked from the other end of the line. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
"Who are you?" Rebecca asked, her patience slowly finishing off. 'How come she knows my phone
number? Only a few people whom I trust know this number. Moreover, how does she know my name?'
she was bombarded with a ton of questions in her mind.
"It doesn't matter who I am and what I want. I think you might be interested in the topic I am going to
talk about," Sally replied coldly. She had no intention of telling her who she was.
"Have you lost your senses? You psychopath!" Rebecca scolded her, as she mistook Sally for one of
her crazy fans. Just as she was about to end the call, the woman's voice sounded from the other line.
"If I am not wrong, you know Lawrence Chu, don't you?" Sally asked casually.
Rebecca's finger froze over the screen. She was taken aback when she heard Lawrence's name being
taken so casually.
