I'm Your Sister, Brother Chow

Chapter 61: The Charm of the 'Temptress'

Chapter 61: The Charm of the 'Temptress'

"So, what would you both like to have today?" The waitress in charge of their table was a girl in her

early twenties. Her eyes seemed to be glued to Joker the whole time.

It seemed like Joker was no stranger to this kind of attention, however, as he continued looking through

the menu calmly.

Nonetheless, Vivian couldn't help feeling uneasy with so many pairs of eyes on them.

She couldn't deny that Joker indeed had a very handsome and beautiful face, perhaps even more than

Chow in terms of charm.

However, because Chow had that icy-cold aura around him, nobody actually dared to keep staring

openly at him for too long.

Therefore, Vivian never felt as pressured as she was now whenever she was with Chow.

It was a good thing that she didn't have to see him again after today. Otherwise, she was probably

going to die of embarrassment very soon.

"What do you want to eat?" Just as he was done asking, Joker turned to ask the smiling waitress a

question. "Since this wagyu steak is your most expensive item, it means that it's the restaurant's best

dish, right?"

The waitress didn't seem to get offended by his rather condescending tone. In fact, she even told him

something that she probably shouldn't have said. "Actually, the texture is very similar to that of the

steak with walnut sauce, but the walnut steak is a lot cheaper than the wagyu steak. Do you want to

give it a try, sir?"

This was the first time Vivian heard anyone recommending a cheaper item than the food they'd chosen.

Just as she thought, people were always more biased towards pretty-looking people like Joker.

However, Joker just narrowed his eyes at the waitress and smiled at her. "Don't worry about it. My

girlfriend is very rich. She will treat me to the most expensive food in your restaurant. I want the most

expensive wine and steak, please. Oh, and make that two orders. My girlfriend will have the same thing

as me."

Vivian really wanted the ground to open up and swallow her right then and there.

This was the first time she'd encountered anyone ordering in such a shameless way.

As soon as the waitress heard what he said, she cast a weird glance at Vivian.

Vivian was sure that the waitress must be thinking she was a rich mistress who was just playing around

with her boytoys.

Still, since she was a waitress, she didn't show too much disdain in her eyes. Instead, she retrieved the

menu from them both and took a deep bow. "Please wait for a moment."

Even though the waitress said nothing, Vivian was sure that she heard some noise coming from the

group of girls that were a few tables away from them.

"I knew it. How could such an ugly girl like her have such a beautiful boyfriend like him? It's just

because she's rich!"

"So what if she's rich? Everyone who eats here is rich. It's just that you don't see this kind of thing

happening very often."

The customers weren't exactly being discreet about their discussion. Vivian heard everything loud and

clear.

However, Vivian was used to little gossips and hurtful comments like this. She was practically already

immune to them.

Nonetheless, she was still fairly surprised when she heard a familiar voice joining in the conversation.

"She, rich? It's just her sugar daddy that's rich."

This voice?

Even though Vivian hadn't been to school for a long time, she recognised that voice immediately. It

belonged to her deskmate of nearly three years, Cindy.

Since Vivian had been living in a daze for the past few days, she never knew what day today was. Of

course, she also never thought that she would run into her classmate while out for lunch.

Cindy's voice started talking again, and Vivian's smile gradually froze on her face.

"She has a sugar daddy? D*mn, who's got such a bad taste?" It was normal for girls their age to be

comparing themselves with one another, but rich brats like them never knew the definition of being

humble anyway.

Even if Joker's beauty was on a whole other level, Vivian wasn't ugly herself. In fact, she was quite

beautiful in her own way.

But hearing herself being described by these snobby rich girls, anyone would think that she was the

ugliest girl one had ever seen.

Cindy sneered. "I'm not even kidding. I'm sure you've heard that the Howards' sl*t had a daughter?"

When they heard her say that, the other girls' eyes immediately lit up in recognition. "Are you saying

that it's her? Wasn't she caught cheating by Chow's girlfriend the other day? How could someone like

Chow even fall in love with her?"

"Exactly! What a pity I'll never have the chance to meet him. Otherwise, I'm sure that he will fall for me

instead."

"It doesn't matter whether you're beautiful or not. You just need to be a sl*t like her."

The discussion behind her grew louder and louder. It seemed like they were no longer afraid of being

overheard.

It was obvious that they were trying to tell the whole world about her in the quiet restaurant.

As expected, the customers at the other tables were starting to throw dirty looks at Vivian. Within the

next moment, everyone started whispering amongst themselves.

Vivian clenched her fists tightly. She hadn't known at all.

She didn't know that whatever happened at the parking lot the other day had already been twisted into

such a ridiculous story by other people.

There were only four people present that day.

She didn't even have to guess to know who was the culprit who started all the rumours about her.

But Vivian didn't even have the chance to deny anything.

She lowered her head in shame. She really regretted agreeing to have lunch with Joker at a place like

this.

Joker was just someone she had met not too long ago. She never thought that he would learn about

her shameful side so quickly.

Vivian's lips quivered as she apologised in a low, hoarse voice. "Sorry, I-I think I might have

embarrassed you."

Joker narrowed his eyes and glanced at the table where Cindy was at. Then, he smiled brightly at

Vivian. "It's fine, I'm not that easily affected by their words. Just you wait and see."

What did he mean by that?

Vivian looked at him in surprise.

Joker stood up and walked over towards Cindy's table with a wide smile on his face.

The rich girls at the table were shocked when they saw him heading over. However, when they caught

sight of his smile, they all relaxed visibly.

Joker approached the table and smiled lightly at one of the girls with eyelashes so long and curly it

could fan a breeze all the way to Africa. "Oh, you're rich as well? But surely you're not as rich as my

girlfriend over there?"

The girl glanced at her friends and smiled back proudly at him. "Of course! My family is very rich as

well. I'm nothing like her."

Joker caressed his lips with his slender fingers before reaching over to cup the girl's face that was

caked with makeup. There was a hint of teasing and playfulness in his irresistible voice. "Then, would

you be willing to spend all your money on me?"

The girl had just boasted that she was nothing like Vivian who would have boytoys around, but yet, a

flash of uncertainty appeared in her eyes when she heard Joker speaking like that to her. "I-I..."

Joker came even closer to her face. "As long as you're willing to spend your money on me, I will

definitely fall in love with you. What do you say, sweetie? Don't you want my love?"

The girl seemed to be completely hypnotised by his words. Before she could say anything, however,

the girl next to her spoke up at once. "I'm rich too! I'll buy you anything you want!"

The girl with the long eyelashes immediately looked at her friend angrily. "Gigi, he was talking to me!

Are you trying to steal him away?"

The girl called Gigi rolled her eyes back at her. "It's not like he's said that he's going to be with you. I'm

probably even richer than you!"

"You d*mn b*tch, I knew all along that you never really treated me as a friend!"

"Us? Friends? Don't be ridiculous. Who knows whether you're hanging out with me just for the sake of

seducing my cousin or not?"

Joker's lips curled into a soft smirk when he saw them arguing amongst themselves. He fluttered his

eyelashes at Vivian before turning around to leave.

As soon as she saw that he was about to leave, Gigi immediately reached out to grab his wrist. "Wait,

where are you going? I'll buy you anything you want! I'll go and buy it for you now!"

Joker lowered his head and pulled his hand away from her grasp. He then grabbed a paper napkin

from the next table and made a show of rubbing his wrist with the napkin. Then, he smiled charmingly

at the girls. "I'm sorry, even if the both of you are indeed very rich, you're both just too ugly for my taste.

In fact, I think I just lost my appetite."

"So, how was it? Wasn't it fun looking at the expressions on their faces?" They never actually sat down

to enjoy the atrociously expensive meal that they had ordered.

As soon as Joker was done speaking to the girls at that table, he had pulled Vivian out of the

restaurant.

He had no interest in arguing with a bunch of worthless girls.

If it weren't for the harsh words they had said, he wouldn't even have bothered wasting his breath on

them.

Vivian took the helmet from him and finally smiled. "Thank you. I'm really sorry for dragging you into

this mess."

She really didn't expect that Joker would handle the situation like this.

He really was a very strange person.

But what was even stranger was that she was unexpectedly getting used to being with him.

Joker's lips curled into a smile. He put on his sunglasses once more to hide his eyes that were full of

expression.

It wasn't just his eyes, but his whole face that had a soulful expression. With the right period costume

and makeup, he could probably pass as a person from the Victorian era.

"There's no need to apologise. Haven't you ever thought that I might have ulterior motives for going out

with you anyway?" Joker asked, peering at her quietly through his sunglasses.

He didn't even try hiding his emotions anymore. "You just walked out of such a huge and luxurious

mansion this morning. Didn't anyone in there teach you to be wary of strangers?"

Vivian hesitated for a while before shaking her head. "That's not my home. And besides, I know you're

not someone like that."

Joker slowly approached her face and tucked her hair behind her ear. "No, I'm precisely someone like

that. Remember, if you continue trusting me wholeheartedly like this, you're going to regret it one day."

With that, Joker's lips suddenly pulled into a wide smile once again. This time, Vivian couldn't even tell

if his smile was genuine anymore.

Vivian pondered for a moment before responding with a soft smile. "I know that you're not that kind of

person. Otherwise, you wouldn't have saved me. Still, I'm afraid that I won't be able to repay you

completely for everything you did that day. If it weren't for you, I'd probably be a dead body in the

woods by now."
