Jojo and Coco's Unexpected Love

Chapter 775 And Now, I’m Saving You

Chapter 775 And Now, I’m Saving You

Lucas, whose thoughts had been exposed, wanted to refute. But in the end, he decided against it since it would be unsightly. "I'll be leaving now, sir."

When there were only two of them in the office, Zoelle casually threw her coat onto the leather sofa and strode toward Joseph in her high heels. She pushed her hair to the front of her chest and bent over. Her hair brushed past his cheeks, carrying with it a light, pleasant fragrance. "Will you accompany me for a meal? I didn’t eat before coming here."

Normal men would fail to hold back in the face of such flirting, but Joseph simply leaned backward to put some distance between them. He then said nonchalantly, "I ordered some food delivery. It’ll be here soon."

Zoelle was stunned before she said smilingly, "Are you that impatient?"

"Yes, I think our time is valuable."

"You are correct..." Zoelle then looked around. "But since it’s our first time, we at least need a bed, right?"

She was meticulous in this aspect. She wanted handsome men she found charming, not playboys or flatterers. If the atmosphere was bad, it would affect her mood.

Joseph raised his brows as he looked up. "This isn't a booty call."

His directness made Zoelle feel awkward and humiliated though she was experienced in such matters. But she suppressed her feelings as a sarcastic smirk crept up her face. "Then why did you call me here?"

"You're a doctor. Why do you think I called you?"

Zoelle's expression stiffened. She took a deep breath, grabbed her coat, and walked toward the door.

"Name your price."

She sneered. "Do I look like I need money?"

Joseph said calmly, "How about 7 million dollars?"

"No." Zoelle stared at him arrogantly. "I’ll only do it if you give your body to me."

Many rich people all over the world dreamed of having her treat them. She was only treating Vanya to repay Noah for saving her in the past. She looked down on 14 million dollars, let alone 7 million.

"I have someone I love, so I won't bed another woman."

Zoelle frowned. "You're married?"

"You could say that." He had been married once, after all.

Zoelle was curious about the woman who managed to win Joseph's heart and make him so loyal. Was she a fairy or something? But she did not bother to ask and simply continued walking. "Forget it. I'm leaving."

"It just so happened that I got my hands on a very particular herb." Joseph looked solemn as he said slowly, "People call it cajoper."

Zoelle abruptly turned around. "You have cajoper?" Her master had looked high and low but failed to find this herb. If she managed to secure it, she would be fulfilling her master's wish.

"Oh yes, I do."

Knowing oneself and the enemy was the key to victory in all battles.

"Fine, I'll accept the job. Bring me the patient."

Otto hung up the call, utterly confused. Had Joseph just invited him to see a doctor? Was Joseph trying to curse him in some way? It did not sound like it though. But Otto was no coward. After only a brief hesitation, he instructed his driver to drive him to Fairlight.

When Zoelle saw the handsome and dark-skinned Otto, her eyes lit up. But as a doctor, she remained professional as she performed a check-up on him.

Otto was stupefied by the whole affair. He stared at Joseph suspiciously. "Are you out of your mind?"

Joseph had actually hired a doctor. People simply did not hire doctors for their enemies.

After having treated Vanya for some time, Zoelle soon confirmed that Otto was poisoned with the same kind of toxin. But he was also fed medicine to suppress it, so his body showed no signs of the toxin.

Hearing this, Otto laughed skeptically. "Joseph, do you think I’d believe you just because you got a woman here to spout nonsense?"

"Have you been taking some sort of lemon-flavored medicine for a long time?" Zoelle asked nonchalantly.

Otto stopped laughing and became anxious. "How did you know?"

"Hmph!"

Joseph played a video of Vanya's treatment as he stared at Otto coldly. "Your future looks exactly like hers. You'll lose your mind and memories before you slowly become paralyzed and die as a crazy man."

When Otto saw Vanya on the screen, his eyes narrowed abruptly. That long-lost sense of oppression hit him again, and his face turned pale. "Vanya’s alive?"

"Yes. I faked her death and saved her. And now, I’m saving you."

Otto's fingers trembled, clearly understanding why Joseph was doing this. He was asking him to betray Duskfall.

"I'll give you a day to think about it. No rush." Joseph knew what was going on in Otto’s mind and did not push him.

When Chloe was finished with her work at Exotic Star, she recalled that Noah had not come in to work today. He was probably resting at home. Wondering if he would go to the wing, she turned on her phone to bring up the surveillance feed from the spy camera she had planted.
