CHAPTER 101
Xander drove into his Dad’s mansion and pulled over at the parking lot. It had been a couple of days since he last set eyes on the man, so he just drove here after he dropped Lisa off at the bus stop earlier.
“Look who we have here. I thought you were never going to come here again,” Mr. Hughes smile welcomed Xander as he walked inside the living room where he met the man sitting and scrolling through his phone which he dropped as soon as Xander walked inside.
“It’s been a while,” He looked at Xander and smile.
“Good day, Dad,” Xander bowed, and he nodded.
“Good day, Sir,”
“It’s a good thing you are here. I was about to go to the dining room. Why don’t you have lu…” He paused then glanced at his wristwatch and sighed.
“It’s actually past lunchtime and it’s not dinner time yet. What am I supposed to call this meal?” He looked at Xander and chuckled as he stood up.
“Anyway, let’s eat,” He led the way to the dining room while Xander trailed behind him. Though he had eaten and wasn’t so hungry, he could not decline his Dad’s offer. It had been a while since they spent time together and have a father and son conversation.
“Where is the maid?” Xander asked him once he pulled out a chair for him to sit on.
“She left earlier after she finished eating. She was going to get something at the grocery store, I think,” The man replied to Xander as he sat on
the chair.

“Oh,” Xander mouthed as he walked over to the empty chair across from him, and sat on it. Since his Dad’s portion had been dished out earlier, he just served himself a small portion and they began eating.
Silence crept into the atmosphere as they ate silently.
“Dad…” Xander broke the silence as he dropped the cutlery he was using to eat, and he was given his Dad’s attention.

“About Mom… How about you go see her? I think she must be missing you a lot and might want to see you,”
Mr. Hughes gave him a long stare before he nodded briefly and resumed eating.
“How about Summer? How is she coping? I saw what happened, and people are bashing her on the internet,” He changed the topic, and Xander sighed.
“She is fine. She’s currently with me along with the kids,” He stopped eating and looked at Xander with his face brightened with a smile.
“My grandkids are with you?”
“Hmm,” A smile formed on his lips when Xander nodded affirmatively.
me the address of the place so I can come over and see them? Will you bring them to see me? “When can I see them, please? Can you give When can I see them, please?” He asked desperately, and Xander smiled.
“You will meet them soon,” Xander assured him, and he nodded.

“Mr. Miller is a dangerous man…” He paused then sipped some water before he continued. “I’ve known him for years though we were never business partners. He is a dangerous man, and I think he’s going to be a problem for Summer,” He sighed as he reclined on the chair.
“I learned that he adopted Summer after what happened years ago, and he was the one who trained her till she got to where she is now. It’s going to be difficult for her,”
It was at that moment that Xander realised everything, but no matter what, he was going to protect his woman and not let any harm come to
her.
“Mr. Miller is one of the top successful business tycoons in the States, and he owns shares in many big companies,” He further explained, and Xander slowly nodded.
“He is going to be a problem for us later, but not to worry, I will handle everything…” He paused, then held Xander’s hand and smiled at him.
“No matter what happens later, no matter the challenges you are faced with later, remember you have a family now. You can’t ever give up on Summer and the kids. You need to make it up to her this time, and you must not fail, ok?”
Xander nodded with a smile on his face.
“Thank you, Sir,”
Once they were done eating, Xander helped clear the table before leaving.
It was already past 7pm by the time Xander drove into his mansion minutes later. A smile formed on his lips when he alighted from the car and saw his kids running toward him along with Ella.
“Daddy is back,” Ella threw herself in his arms and embraced him tightly like he had been gone for so long.
“Uncle!” Jack and Jake cheered as they hugged him also. Though it broke Xander’s heart being addressed as ‘uncle’ by his own kids, he knew better to give it time. Besides, they didn’t know the truth yet that he was their father.
“Come here, kids,” He squatted down and patted his back for Ella to hop on which she did, and after he stood up, he held Jack and Jake’s hand before proceeding into the house.
A smile formed on his lips when he walked inside the living room and found Summer sitting on the couch, looking as gorgeous as always.
“Why don’t you go ahead and play in your room, hmm?” He squatted and patted their hair once he dropped Ella from his back.
“Daddy, you didn’t buy anything for us?” Ella pouted and blinked her eyes cutely, and he smiled.
“I will get you something later. Come on, you should go to your room, ok?” He ruffled her hair briefly, and she nodded.
Once she left with the other kids, he sighed and stood up with a smile on his face.
“Hey!”
Summer stood up with a smile on her face. She bit her bottom lip and held her gaze low, not knowing what to say. All she wanted was to hug him and tell him how much she had missed him while he was away though, but sadly, she could not.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“I missed you,” Her heart fluttered as he covered the space between them and slid his arm around her waist.
“I missed you so much that I thought I was going to lose my mind,” He pulled her close and hushed, his eyes piercing into hers…
