Chapter 43 Don’t Think Too Highly Of Me
Maggie probably didn’t expect him to say such things. Unable to help herself, she looked at him, lightly. laughing and saying, “So, Mr. Harris, you also have some intriguing thoughts.”
Nathael squinted his eyes, turned to meet her gaze, and his voice became husky. “Maggie, don’t hold me in such high regard,”
It sounded like advice, yet also like a kind of warning.
Maggie locked eyes with him for a few seconds, neither confirming nor denying. Then she withdrew her gaze, leaned on the railing with her elbow, and casually said, “But you’re already talented.”
She realized it too late.
Nathael’s thin lips were lightly pursed under the serene night sky, a woman draped in a light brown blanket, her hair dancing freely in the night breeze. That delicate little face carried a touch of unusual gentleness.
The cigarette between his fingers burned slowly, yet Nathael was unwilling to look away.
The cruise ship on the river emitted intermittent whistles, After admiring the night scenery for a while, Maggie felt a slight chill with the arrival of autumn.
With a hint of mischief, she turned and said, “Mr. Harris, I’d like to have hand–brewed coffee.”
She was straightforward, with a touch of uninhibited playfulness.
Nathael remained silent, quietly watching her.
There was an indulgent aura about the woman’s demeanor. Not in a hurry to wait for him to speak, as if certain that he wouldn’t refuse, she blinked her dewy eyes, patiently awaiting his response.
Nathael’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, his beautiful eyes deep and tranquil. It seemed as if he was exerting great restraint, holding back something. After reaching the pinnacle of suppression, it was as if ripples appeared on the sea’s surface, with hidden currents surging beneath, ready to lose control at the slightest touch.
Seeing him unmoved, Maggie deliberately approached him, leaning in front of him. Tipping her head like a mischievous fox, she asked, “Mr. Harris?”
Nathael’s gaze swept over her tender lips, suppressing the desire in his heart. He no longer looked at her, took her hand, and turned to walk into the living room. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
The warm touch left Maggie stunned for a few seconds. She followed his steps back to the room, still in a daze
Unable to resist, she curled her fingers and lightly scratched his palm. When Nathael turned to warn her with a glance, she obediently stopped.
Maggie suddenly felt like having hand–brewed coffee, the kind Nathael made.
Unfortunately, the last batch of coffee beans at home had run out. Maggie pouted her red lips in

Nathael let her have her way, saying, “Let’s go together.”
“Great!” Maggie suddenly became happy again, thinking it was nice to go out with him, especially on such a beautiful night.
She hurriedly returned to her room to change, and when she came out again, Nathael was tinkering with
her coffee filter.
“Let’s go.
Maggie spoke gently, and Nathael responded with a nod. As he turned around, his p

Maggie, puzzled, reached up and touched her neck, asking, “What’s wrong?”
fell on her neck,
In the next moment, he took her hand away. His warm fingertips touched her snowy white neck, brushing over a faint purplish bruise. His voice was cold. “Who did this?”
“Huh?” Maggie didn’t react for a moment, completely forgetting the incident a few hours ago when William almost strangled her.
After all, people often focus more on the results. She had won and achieved her goal, so she naturally tended to forget the pain.
Nathael’s thin lips tightened, and the depths of his dark eyes seemed to hide a storm.
Maggie turned her head to look in the mirror near the entrance, and only then did she remember the incident when she saw the bruise on her neck.
The lighting had been dim earlier, and she had been wrapped in a blanket, so Nathael hadn’t noticed. Now, she had changed into a low–cut sweater, and the bruise was prominently visible, drawing attention.
Just as Maggie was contemplating how to explain to Nathael, his slightly cool lips gently pressed against her neck.
Nathael lowered his head, gently caressing her neck with concern and restraint.
The delicate and tingling sensation was somewhat ticklish.
Maggie’s breath became slightly erratic. She swallowed and, inexplicably, felt that the situation was a bit ambiguous.
In the next moment, Nathael slowly raised his head to look at her, his voice hoarse. “Maggie, what do you desire?”
Maggie’s eyelashes trembled as she looked at him and asked earnestly, “Can it be anything?”
Nathael’s pupils were as dark as the unfathomable deep sea. He stared at her for a long time, and after a while, he sighed resignedly and said, “Yes.”
Maggie’s eyes welled up with a hint of redness, and she smiled softly.

in her presence, tacitly allowed her teasing repeatedly, and even ignored her repeated calculations.
She also knew that this was probably the best opportunity, one of his rare commitments.
She didn’t have to give anything, yet she could make impolite and excessive requests.
Nathael silently waited for her answer, torturing himself with thoughts of all the possibilities.
The project in Chronopolis? The project in Spectral Port? Or perhaps all the shares of Harris in my possession, or even for the sake of Joseph….
His heart felt as if it was tightly gripped by a large hand, awaiting the judgement of fate. He knew the answer would disappoint him, yet he was driven by a maddening desire to fulfill all her wishes, like the most devout believer. It was both laughable and insane.
“I already told you I want your brewed coffee, Maggie said with a light laugh, giving an unexpected answer to Nathael.
Nathael stared at the woman in front of him in a daze. Her eyes were gentle and clear, like crystal–clear
water.
As if, at this moment, it was her greatest desire.
Nathael’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, and he said slowly, ‘Okay.”
The moon shone brightly, the stars were scattered, and the night was calm.
Silently, they went to the supermarket in front of the neighborhood, just like any ordinary couple.
Maggie picked two types of coffee beans and bought some fruits and vegetables. After that, she planned to go back home.
But Nathael pulled her towards a nearby pharmacy when they left the supermarket.
“We need anti–inflammatory and pain relief medicine.”
The pharmacy’s owner, an elderly man with thick glasses, glanced at the two of them. He then wore an expression that indicated he understood everything, got up, and went to a counter, slowly taking out two
ointments.
“These two have better effects, but you must still use them in moderation even after applying the medicine.”
Nathacl picked up the ointments, and upon hearing the old man’s words, his long fingers hesitated for a
moment.
Maggie was filled with question marks and couldn’t help but ask, “Why do we need to use them in moderation?”
Did she have to restrict movement and avoid using it excessively for a small bruise like the one on her neck for the next few days?
