Love At Last

Chapter 147 – Lily is leaving me…forever?

Cayden

What Lily asked me was the truth and it actually makes a lot of sense. I hadn’t even thought about that, I just did what I felt was right at that moment to be honest. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Everything happened so fast that I didn’t even have the time to make the right decision.

Lily asking if I was the father of the child hurt me a little bit. I mean, I want her to trust me with all her heart and not doubt me at all.

I wanted to tell her everything that was going on in my mind, but I just decided to keep shut.

She wouldn’t believe me anyway, I have to show her and not just show her.

The truth was haunting me now. I hadn’t even thought about it to the extent that Lily has. When the lady came to me, telling me that the baby was mine, I had thought that she was just lying. I didn’t overthink it. I just decided to take care of her and her baby pending the time the real father of the baby comes.

I stole a glance at lily and u saw that she was glaring at me with anger and questions in her eyes and I just averted my gaze from her.

The guilt that I was feeling was too much that I had nothing to say to her. I wanted to walk away from her, but I just knew that that would be really bad and she will never trust me again if that happens.

“Why the hell are you still quiet?” She snapped me out of my weird thoughts and I looked at her to see that she was still waiting for me to answer her question.

The look on her face was haunting me, so I just looked away.

“Wow, Cayden. Wow. I’m really sure that I was correct after all. You’re feeling guilty, that’s why you can’t even hold eye contact with me for more than three seconds. You’re being wicked right now.” She said to me and moved closer to me. I raised my head up and I saw that tears were already welling up in her eyes. I wanted to stretch my hand and clean the few that just dropped on her face, but I restrained myself from doing that.

“You-” I started saying, but I stopped almost immediately. I wanted to tell her that she didn’t understand everything because she actually doesn’t, but I decided not to say anything.

I could see that she was feeling bad and she needed to let everything out, so I allowed her to have her moment.

“You told me that you loved me, Cayden. You really did and I trusted you. Oh God, I was so dumb enough to believe that you actually loved me.” She said amidst tears and I blinked at her before backing away from her.

I hate seeing her in tears so much, but I didn’t want to interrupt her, so I just stayed still.

“You didn’t love me and you still don’t. You were just using me for my body and all. Cayden!” She screamed at me while pushing me back. I didn’t do anything and I just continued looking down.

She was hurting really bad and I just knew that for her to feel better, I just had to leave. So, I left her and I started packing.

When she came to me and she saw that I was packing, she started screaming and pushing me, but I didn’t react to any of her actions because I totally understood the pain she must have been going through.

“Oh wow. You’re packing because you want to run away from the truth like you always do? Yeah, that’s what you always do, so run away. Please. I don’t even want to see you around anyway. Just go. Go like the coward you are.” She said and even though she was really angry, knew that she still cared so much about me.

I was feeling so frustrated, drained and so tired and I had so many things to say, but I just can’t say any at all.

I knew that she was waiting for me to say something to her, but what could I say? That I was packing and leaving solely on the orders of my boss, her father? Or because I hate myself so much for hurting her and I can’t keep on living with that misery?

She was still shouting at me and following me about as I packed silently. She suddenly stopped and she asked, “are you going to say anything about everything I said? Are you really running away from the truth?”

I didn’t answer her, even though I wanted to. I stood up from where I was packing and I saw her wiping her tears off her face.

God, her eyes were so red.

“Fine. I’ve gotten my answer.” She said and I wanted to correct the impression that she already had about me, but I didn’t.

“I am going to leave you now to continue what you were doing since my time here has obviously expired.” She said and she sniffed noisily.

What she said scared me and when she was about to leave, u grabbed her hand and I tried turning to face me, but she didn’t allow me. She slipped from my grip and she ran out of the house.

I felt devastated and I wanted to go after her, but I didn’t.

I grabbed my bags and I left my house. I entered my car immediately and I drove off to the airport. When I was about to get out of my car, I brought out my shades and I put them on to hide my teary eyes from everyone.

I entered the aeroplane and when I landed in New York, I felt a little bit lighter. I instantly went to the apartment that I had rented for the pregnant lady in question. The anger that I was trying to forget was suddenly brewing and I was becoming angrier by the minute.

When she opened the door for me, I instantly demanded that she tell me exactly what she had told the CEO.

I could see that she was really scared of me and I felt good about that. She told me that she didn’t tell the CEO directly, as someone had come to the house claiming to be my sister.
