Chapter 366
Two hours had passed, and Maisie and Farley, laden with bags of all sizes, emerged from the mall.

Maisie gasped, "Oh no! I forgot to buy a necklace! Let's hustle back..."
Farley, his arms already overloaded and legs nearly giving out from fatigue, protested, "Mom, can we just call it a day? Look at all this stuff we're carrying. Going back and forth will be the death of me."
"But..." Maisie frowned, but with her hands full, she indeed found it inconvenient.
Her eyes quickly shifted and landed on the necklace adorning Beverley's neck.
"Hey? Your necklace looks decent enough, give it to me. You can just buy another one."
Beverley was in shock, her eyes wide open.
Her necklace was a limited edition from Cartier, which she had waited four months and spent a small fortune to acquire.
Who did she think she was, demanding it just like that?! How entitled must one be to even make such a request?!
Maisie's eyebrows arched in indignation, "What's with that look? It's just a necklace, not your life! Besides, I'm not even complaining that you wore it. I'm generously offering you a chance to buy a new one, and you're ungrateful?"
"Fine, if you're too attached to it, forget it. I thought we could have a proper conversation and resolve this quickly, but it seems your sincerity is as tiny as a sesame seed. Alright then, let's just drag this out. I'm not in a hurry."
Then, turning to Farley, "Oh, and son, let's repost that video when we get back."
In just a few sentences, she masterfully played the card of retreat as advance, subtly threatening and intimidating.
Beverley's face turned steely. She wanted to tell them to get lost but remembered Naylor's warning.
After taking a few deep breaths to calm her rising anger, she reluctantly took off her necklace and handed it over. "There, isn't that better? You're a lady of stature, what's wrong with being a bit generous?"
Maisie immediately put it on, "Son, does it look good?"
Farley chuckled, "Looks great, better than anyone."
The "anyone" was clearly a dig at Beverley.
"I'm warning you, don't push your luck! Everyone's patience has its limits!"
With that, she strode away.
Maisie didn't call after her this time but instead admired the necklace in a shop window, pleased with herself.
“Mom, are we just going to let her go?"
"You can't corner a dog too aggressively; it might jump over the wall. We'll take our time, there will be more opportunities." Three days later, an opportunity presented itself.
Maisie called Beverley, "I've come all
this way to Lumina City and haven't even seen a proper sight. I

Royal Palace is quite s..."

Before she could finish, Beverley got the hint; another demand was coming: "Alright, I'll arrange a tour guide for you."
"What do we need a tour guide for? You could just show us around yourself."
She wasn't some sort of escort; what did they mean by her showing them around?
Beverley inhaled deeply, explaining, "A guide will be more knowledgeable..."
"We don't need expertise; we're looking for sincerity."
Beverley was totally speechless.
The next day, she got up early and met Maisie and her son at the hotel entrance to... Show them around the Royal Palace!
Maisie, standing in front of a display case, commented, "That queen's hat looks just okay, kind of dingy, and those green bits look like copper rust?"
Beverley rolled her eyes.

"How much do you think these would sell for?"
Farley yawned, "What's so interesting about this? It's all just clothes and accessories. I heard most of this stuff was dug out from tombs,so isn't that just dead

Walking with this mother and son duo, Beverley wished she could either become invisible or find a hole to crawl into.
"This place has nothing to eat, drink, or do, yet it's packed with people!"
