Chapter 382 The Operating Room (Part Two)
Chapter 382 The Operating Room (Part Two)
Carla gently caressed her belly and answered with a smile, "That's right, it is on Wednesday."
"Well, you know that I will be busy with some business tomorrow. I don't know when I will be back and I
am afraid that I might not be able to catch up with the time. So why don't we move the check-up
appointment to today instead? I will be able to accompany you to the hospital."
"Don't bother yourself with that. Mother said that she will accompany me to the hospital on that day."
Without a conscious thought, Carla refused his request immediately and said, "Moreover, I've already
made an appointment with the doctor."
"I understand what you're saying, but it's not the same. You are expecting my child and of course, I
should be with you during these check-ups." Noah countered before continuing, "That's it. I don't want
to hear anything else. I will call the doctor to change our appointment."
Carla was still about to say something when Noah suddenly held her hand tightly. He then patted the
back of her hand gently and said in a patient tone, "You have no clue of what I'm feeling, do you? This
is the first time for me to be a father. Thus, I'm more than eager to hear my child's heartbeat myself.
Can't you even let this small dream of mine come true?"
Having noticed the sincerity on his face, Carla could only smile helplessly and nod. She then said, "All
right then.
Luckily, I don't have anything important to do this morning. We can just go to the hospital now." As soon
as they agreed, Noah drove straight to the hospital, but he didn't utter another word on their way there.
Puzzled by how Noah was acting, Carla glanced at him with furrowed eyebrows. However, she couldn't
tell what was exactly wrong with him.
'Does he already know about what happened last night? Is that the reason why he is angry now?' she
pondered.
The car soon arrived at the hospital.
They were currently in HA City. Thus, Noah had more control here. It was a very simple task for him to
get a substitute doctor in a short period of time to check-up on Carla.
Noah walked into the hospital alongside Carla.
She had only been pregnant for two months so there really wasn't a rush for her to take many tests.
The doctor had told her to visit the hospital once a month and make sure that her baby was growing
normally.
Carla was answering the doctor's questions when she noticed Noah making a phone call outside the
check-up room.
Feeling a bit upset, she thought to herself, 'Didn't he just say that he wanted to accompany me? How
come he is outside? Something doesn't feel right about him. That's strange.'
She was still immersed in deep thoughts when her phone suddenly rang.
She noticed Terance's name on the screen but it was already time for her to get examined by the
doctor. After realizing that it wouldn't be smart to answer him now, Carla cut the call and decided to call
him back later.
At the same time, she also noticed another doctor step into the room. The new doctor said something
to the one she was originally talking to, then she saw the first doctor walk out without a word, leaving
her with the new doctor.
"Hello, Miss Carla. I'm Doctor Cameron, director of the obstetrics and gynecology department. I'm so
sorry I didn't realize that you are Mr. Noah's fiancee. Well, let's move to the lab so I can do some tests
on you more carefully."
The new doctor was a woman who was wearing a pair of glasses. She sounded more professional than Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
the first doctor, as she explained to Carla patiently.
Carla stood up and didn't give it any further thought. She just quietly followed the doctor, assuming that
the reason Noah was on the phone earlier was to change the doctor for her.
She stepped out for a moment but she couldn't find Noah anywhere. For some reason, she suddenly
felt very anxious wondering where he went.
Suddenly, her phone rang again.
"Hello, what's wrong?"
Carla asked upon answering the phone. Terence rarely called her in the daytime and he wasn't the type
of person to call her over and over without any reason.
"Where are you now, Carla?" "I'm in the hospital for a check-up. Why? What's wrong?"
Carla noticed Terence's nervous voice. She walked behind the doctor as she spoke to Terence on the
phone when suddenly she saw that the new room that had been arranged for her was just a few steps
ahead.
Carla was so engaged on the phone that she didn't even notice the strange sign on the door.
The sign on the door read: Operating Room.
"What? You're in a hospital now?" Terence sounded shocked to hear her answer. Suddenly, his hands
started trembling as he tried to calm himself down. He seemed to have lost his breath as he said, "Is
Noah there with you, Carla? You need to leave the hospital right now. Noah already found out that the
baby in your belly is mine."
Carla stopped right at the door of the operating room after hearing what Terence had just said.
The blow from the news hit her like an atomic bomb and she still couldn't accept the fact that Noah
knew the truth the whole time he was with her today.
"Miss Carla, please turn off your phone. Phones are actually forbidden in the examining room." The
director saw that Carla stopped at the door of the operating room so she gave her a friendly reminder.
Right at that moment, Carla finally noticed the three indistinct characters on one of the room's door,
stating that she was about to step into the operating room.
Having considered Terence's words, Carla became very frightened and she stepped back immediately.
She had already guessed what would happen to her inside that room.
