Chapter 414 He Was A Douchebag
Chapter 414 He Was A Douchebag
"What are you talking about?
So he ditched Violet?"
Carla was enraged the moment she heard about it.
No wonder Violet suddenly disappeared without a trace. She must have felt so hurt.
"Calm down, Carla. I told you about it because I wanted you to be prepared. JA City is not that big, and
rumors fly quickly around here. It's not a secret anymore. You didn't hear about it because you didn't
pay attention to those things,"
Terence said as he let out a deep sigh.
In JA City, except for the An family which was the most influential, there were still many other families
residing here.
Although it seemed like they did not have a good relationship with one another, and there was minimal
contact among them, they could still cooperate for mutual benefits when necessary.
That was the reason why Terrence also invited William's family to his wedding.
"No matter what you say, you can't change the fact that he abandoned Violet! Why did Violet fall in love
with such douchebag?"
Carla could not contain her anger. She was obviously furious that her friend was being treated like that.
"Carla, I know Violet is your friend. But as outsiders in their relationship, we can't really understand
whatever was going on between them. We shouldn't interfere with their affairs." He walked up to her
and whispered, "Since there is nothing you can change about it, maybe you could go there and cheer
her up, convince her not to be sad about the wedding."
"We are going to choose our wedding rings today. Once you're done, you should come home as soon
as possible," he added.
"Okay," she simply answered. When she saw that Rainer was pulling the car over where they stood,
she immediately got in as her eyes blazed with fury.
When Carla got to Violet's house, she caught sight of her coiled up on the couch, staring at nothing.
It hurt Carla to see her friend in such a condition.
Violet obviously hadn't been sleeping well lately. Her angular face accented her prominent cheekbones,
which seemed to be thinner than usual.
When Violet noticed that Carla was there, she immediately threw her arms around the latter's shoulder.
Tears streamed down Violet's charming face as she had finally found comfort in a friend.
"There, there. Violet, don't cry. That douchebag is not worth your tears!" Carla comforted Violet as she
caressed her hair.
"Carla, don't put it that way. He is not a douchebag. It is not his fault. That woman forced him to get
married!" she said as she fought back the tears.
"How could he be forced to do something like that? How could he do that to you?!" Carla shouted in
total anger.
She could not believe that Violet would still take William's side. It infuriated her more to know that her
friend still trusted that man.
"Carla, you don't know anything about it. That woman is a cunning bitch! She asked William's parents
to bring him home and made him take some medicine. She manipulated him so she could conceive his
baby. She forced him to marry her! It's a shotgun wedding!"
Violet's eyes filled with tears as she continued, "His family wanted William to take responsibility for her
and the baby. He had no choice but to agree to the marriage."
This left Carla speechless with rage.
Since that woman was having William's child and his family attached great importance to their
offspring, Carla realized that there was no way to call off the wedding at this point.
"What about William? What did he say?" Carla asked as she helped Violet wipe off the tears from her
face.
Violet cried even harder and said, "William... Ever since he knew about the woman's pregnancy, he
hasn't come here.
I tried to reach him over the phone, but that woman answered it. She said I was shameless for
seducing an engaged man!"
Carla tenderly patted her back and was lost in thought. "So what are you going to do?" she asked.
Violet wiped her eyes and looked at Carla with an embarrassed look. "Carla, I don't want to worry you. I
didn't contact you because I thought that I could make through this by myself.
But when I heard that he will be getting married next week, I felt completely at a loss. I'm sure that I will
lose him forever," she murmured.
Carla nodded her head and asked, "Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?"
Violet dried her eyes and grabbed Carla's arms. "Carla, I know Mr. Terence will do anything for you.
Could you... Could you do me a favor and ask him to talk to William? I want to see William in person,"
she pled in a trembling voice.
"I can do that for you. But he is getting married, there is no point in seeing him, anymore."
She couldn't help but let out a sigh, seeing the desperation in her friend's teary red eyes.
Violet would have a hard time moving on with her life without William. Even if she had the chance to
see him again, she would feel nothing but heartbreak and betrayal.
"Carla, there is something I want to say to him in person. Otherwise, I will regret it for the rest of my
life!" Violet begged.
She made a sharp intake of breath as she tightly held Carla's hands.
Seeing that she had made up her mind, Carla nodded and said, "Wait, I will give Terrence a call!"
Carla went towards the balcony for some privacy.
Immediately, she got through to Terrence's phone.
"Terence, can you do me a favor?"
He was silent for a while on the other line.
"You want me to help Violet?"
He directly asked, obviously not surprised about Carla's intention at all.
"Yes. Violet wants to meet William in person. Terence, is there any way you can arrange it for them?"
Carla knew that he was smart enough to figure out her reason for calling, so she just cut to the chase.
"Alright, fine. I can do it, but just this once!" Terence let out a sigh as he knew deep inside that he could
not say no to the love of his life.
If this plan was not successful the first time, William would not buy it the second time.
"Okay then. You choose a relatively quiet place for the meet up and ask him out. Send me the address
when you are done!" Carla said and cast a glance at Violet who was back inside the house, still blankly
staring into nothing.
If this was what Violet really wanted, she would definitely help her with it. Perhaps, this could finally
give them the closure that they needed.
"Okay. Wait for my message," Terrence briefly replied.
After hanging up the phone, he immediately asked his assistant to contact William's secretary.
After a while, Carla got the details of the meet up.
Violet took a shower and changed her clothes. She put on some make-up to get a bit of color on her
face.
Carla then instructed Rainer to drive them to the meeting place. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
It was going to be at a business hotel.
"Carla, please don't go! Could you stay here with me?" Violet grabbed Carla's arms when the latter was
about to leave. "I'm afraid that he will get upset when he finds out that I'm the one who asked him to
come here."
"Violet, that's okay. Go ahead and tell him the things that you've been meaning to say to him. And
remember what I told you on the way here!" Carla explained, trying to encourage her dear friend.
She gently patted her shoulder and threw her arms around her.
Women could really be crazy in love. They would always look for the perfect man, and when they finally
got the man of their dreams, they would do anything to keep him. Violet was nothing like that before
she met William. She would love the man with all of her heart and not have anything left for herself. But
once she was cheated on, she would also walk away without hesitation. Looking at it now, even if she
was totally hurt by William, she still treated him like nothing happened. Violet was a completely different
person now.
Carla got out of the room just in time as William reached the hotel.
As William laid his eyes on Carla in the hall, he realized that the meeting was a trick. He turned around
and was about to walk out, but Carla's voice stopped him in his tracks.
"Mr. William. Where are you going?"
William stood by the door with his back to Carla and said, "Are you trying to set me up with someone?
Are you aware that such behavior will dishonor the An family?"
William had come across her in the ice house, so he knew about her relationship with Violet.
Since Carla was here, he figured that Violet would definitely be here too.
"So, you know what I'm doing here?" Carla asked, narrowing her eyes on him. She cast a glance at
Violet, who was eavesdropping behind the door and continued, "Since you already know about my
plan, let's stop beating around the bush.
Mr. William, I'm pretty sure that you know Violet is my friend. If anyone dared to hurt her, I'm not going
to sit around and watch my friend suffer!"
William stood still and replied with a sneer, "Ms. Carla, I didn't think that you are capable of meddling in
other people's affairs. You should just mind your own business."
"Mr. William, is there something wrong with your ears? I told you Violet is my friend. I'm not talking
about someone else. If it is about my friend, I don't think that I'm just messing around here!"
Carla refuted him without any reservation.
William's back suddenly stiffened. It never occurred to him that Carla was such an eloquent woman and
way better than Violet was.
Compared with Carla, although Violet could be reckless sometimes, deep inside, she was still a timid
girl. Probably because she had been in JA City alone for a few years and had been through some
struggles on her own. It took the edge off her and made her learn about how to bend over and suck it
up.
"All right, fine! I don't want to waste more time on you! Violet, come out here!"
Carla called out to her friend.
The door suddenly creaked open, and Violet came out, staring at the floor.
