Love is the Sunshine

Chapter 536 She Made Me Kneel

Chapter 536 She Made Me Kneel

Terence hadn't said anything from the moment they got back.

He was cudgeling his brain trying to figure out what he was thinking in the past two years.

"Babe, the biggest mistake I have ever made was letting another woman stay in our house." This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Terence knew fully well that he had truly made a number of bad decisions throughout his life, but the

worst of them all was what they had to deal with at this moment.

Hearing his answer, Carla nodded her head, feeling quite satisfied. Then, she walked over toward him

and reached out her hand. "Alright, my dear husband, let's go have dinner first. I'm feeling a bit

hungry."

Seeing her arm outstretched toward him, Terence was on the verge of tears. He quickly grabbed her

hand and stood up, holding her tightly in his arms. "I can't tell you how sorry I am, babe. I'm really

sorry... I'll come back here and continue to kneel after dinner.

If this can help me make it up to you, even just a little, then I don't mind doing it. I won't get up until

you're happy."

Seeing how determined he was to make it up to her was enough to thaw her frozen heart. "Forget

about it. You don't really have to do that anymore. Otherwise, people might end up accusing me of

being an abusive wife."

"It doesn't matter what other people say. No one else can tell us what to do!"

Terence stated, gently wrapping his arm around her waist as they walked toward the dining area.

Feeling as if trapped inside an ice cellar, all Lucy could do was jealously stare at the intimate couple.

She found out the hard truth that that was what a real couple looked like.

She had been with him for two years already. Yet, Terence had never been affectionate toward her and

had always kept his distance.

When they were done eating, Carla wasn't really planning to let Terence go back to kneeling. However,

this man seemed to have his mind already made up. It looked like he was treating this as his way of

redeeming himself.

He really didn't go upstairs and knelt until the clock struck 12 at midnight.

Carla was having trouble getting sleep, worrying that he might still be kneeling on the washboard

downstairs. With that keeping her up, she decided not to go to bed until he went up to their bedroom.

After taking a shower to feel refreshed, Terence headed toward their room and went straight to bed. He

wrapped his arms around Carla, who was holding Sally in her arms, and embraced the two of them.

"... Babe, are you asleep yet?"

he whispered under his breath.

Hearing his voice, Carla turned over to face him and touched his knee. "Does it hurt?"

"No, not at all. To tell you truth, I actually feel so happy." Beaming her a warm and loving smile, Terence

was completely over the moon.

Even though kneeling on a washboard was such a disgraceful act, it had actually saved him lots of

trouble and worked out for him because Carla had acted the part of the bad guy in front of Lucy for his

sake.

"Terence, I'm worried about something." Carla got up and stared right at his face.

"What is it? Is anything bothering you?" Terence asked, holding her tightly in his arms.

"You just remembered everything about me earlier this morning, right?" Carla rolled her eyes and kept

thinking for a while. It's true that he vividly remembered everything today, but what about tomorrow or

the day after that?

"Why are you asking about that?" Terence felt a bit confused. From the tone of her voice, it seemed as

if she was doubting him.

Curling her lips, Carla poked his chest. "I'm just scared that you might forget about me again when you

wake up tomorrow."

"That isn't going to happen, babe." Terence answered immediately without really giving it much

thought. Then, he raised her chin and kissed her lips, "No, how can I forget you again? You're my dear

wife. I love you more than anything in the world."

As she laid in his arms, Carla sneered, "Well, you can't say that for sure. Don't you remember how you

treated me when I just got back? What if you end up doing something worse?"

"Really? How could I... I'm so sorry, babe. I truly am. My grandfather was worried about me at that time,

so he tried so hard to persuade me to go to therapy. I was actually quite resistant to it when I started.

There may be some after-effects, but I'm sure that I'll recover from it soon enough..."

Terence embraced her even tighter. Things have become quite different. Now that Carla had come

back, there should be a way for him to break free from the hypnosis.

Manipulating one's consciousness was no mere mortal task. That's what made it extremely unstable.

As Carla nodded her head, she suddenly got a bit drowsy. Her eyes felt so heavy that she almost

instantly fell asleep in his arms.

Terence didn't want to disturb her when he saw that she had fallen asleep, but he just couldn't help

himself from caressing her.

They had all the time in the world.

Right next to him, Sally was also sleeping soundly. He pressed his hand on the pretty little girl's cheeks

and couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

He was feeling even more relaxed and pleasant and in a state of perfect bliss.

Carla and the addition of their lovely daughter had made his life complete.

That was all he could think of at that moment.

The next day, just before the break of dawn.

Sally, who always got up early in the morning, opened her eyes and put on a sweet smile when he saw

her mom and dad sleeping soundly right next to her.

She crawled into the space between the two of them and tugged on their clothes with her cute little

hands.

"Mommy? Daddy? It's morning already! Stop sleeping. Get up and play with me!"

Carla promptly pulled her hand away, turning over to get a bit more sleep. A lot happened yesterday, so

she was still feeling tired.

Pursing her lips, Sally grabbed Terence one more time. "Dad? Daddy? Wake up already. Come on, let's

go out and play."

It's still rather early. Both of them stayed up until late last night, so it wasn't surprising that the two of

them would be knocked out like a light.

Terence had his eyebrows deeply knit as he grabbed Sally's hands, mumbling, "Gail, please..."

Sally instantly pursed her lips again as soon as she heard him call out someone else's name. "Dad, it's

me, Sally. Open your eyes and look at me!"

She reached for Terence's eyelids to open it, wanting him to see who was waking him up.

Terence suddenly grabbed a hold of her restless hand and opened his eyes. When he saw her, he

raised his eyebrows in utter disbelief, "Sally? What are you doing here?"

"You brought mommy and me here last night," Sally answered, rolling over to lie on his body, trying to

get him to play with her.

As he held Sally, he noticed that Carla was also there sleeping right next to her. There was a sullen

look on his face as he put Sally down.

He was having a hard time trying to comprehend what was happening, so he got out of the bed right

away and hurriedly went outside.

As soon as he stepped out of the room, he saw Nathan standing there, waiting outside so early in the

morning.

"Good morning, Mr. Terence."

"Nathan, it's only been a day, hasn't it? How did..." Terence was getting so worked up.

Nathan politely replied, "Mr. Terence, you're the one who decided to do this all by yourself. You can't

blame anyone else for it. You went to the Hua family and brought Ms. Carla back home last night. You'll

be a bastard of a man if you go and change your mind again."

Nathan was blunt this time, but he was somewhat still respectful.

Due to the current state of Mr. Terence's mind, he knew that this was bound to happen when Mr.

Terence woke up in the morning, so Nathan decided to come to the villa early to wait for him.

"Nathan, if you already knew that this would happen, then why didn't you stop me from doing it?''

Pressing his hand against his forehead, Terence thought that even if he wanted to take them back

home right away, he couldn't have possibly done it. Lucy and Gail were still in the villa. What could he

do in this situation?

"Mr. Terence, I tried my best to stop you yesterday, but you were so dead set on taking them back

home with you. What was I supposed to do? I couldn't dare to stop you."

Nathan explained, feeling a bit hopeless.

Taking in a deep breath, Terence raised his head and saw that Lucy was holding Gail and walking out

of the room. Then, he noticed that Ella was walking right behind her, pulling their suitcases.

Just as he was about to walk toward them, Nathan abruptly grabbed his arm to stop him in his tracks.

"Mr. Terence, haven't you knelt enough on the washboard already?"

"Washboard? What do you mean?" Terence looked at Nathan, with confusion written all over his face.

'Knelt on the washboard?' He couldn't believe his ears.

"You knelt on the washboard until midnight last night. Have you already forgotten about it, Mr. Terence?

Well, even if you don't remember, don't your knees hurt right now?" Nathan wanted to refresh his mind

a little.

Upon hearing that, Terence realized that his knees were indeed quite sore.

'What on earth happened last night?' He wondered, feeling so lost.

"She seriously made me kneel?" Terence asked in a low voice, seemingly pissed off.

'That woman just came back home, then she made me kneel on a washboard?

And I actually did as she told me to?' he was desperately at a loss. —

"Terence..."

As Lucy stood in front of the elevator, she called out to him from a distance, wearing a gentle but sad

look on her face.

When Terence heard her calling him, he furrowed his eyebrows and was going to walk over toward her

to talk to her.

Just as he was about to move, the bedroom door suddenly flung open.

"Honey, where are you going?"
