Love or Leave Behind Chapter 89
Tuften replied, “I forgot. I’ll have to ask her.”
“Let me know when you find out,” Shelmaine said.
“Alright.”
For a while, neither of them said anything. It was quiet on Julien’s end. It seemed like he was indoors.
Cursing her curiosity, she asked, “Are you in your hotel room?”
“Impressive. Didy
d you put a tracking device on me too?” Julien teased.
Shelmaine rolled her eyes and grimaced as she retorted, “Don’t insult me. As if I’d do such a thing.”
He chuckled again, sounding happy. “You make me want to go back now, Shelly.”
Shelmine shuddered at the sweet talk, and she thanked the heavens that the delivery guy arrived at that moment to spare her from having to respond. “I think the takeout is here. I’ll talk to you later.”
With that, she hung up and went to get the takeout.
Meanwhile, Julien was grimming like a lovesick tool in his hotel room. He enjoyed the pursuit, and while he had been in relationships before, he had never felt as happy and at ease as he was with Shelmaine
He tried to call her again later that night, but she rejected his call and texted him to say she was eating. She also told him to leave her alone.
He replied with a despondent emo, which Shelmaine promptly ignored. He waited about half an hour before she replied and told him she was heading home, and that he should get some rest.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Jullen feigned disappointment. “How croel of you, Shelly. How am I supposed to sleep through the night without you keeping me company?”
Shelmaine wamed, “Careful there. Anything you say after this may count as harassment.”
He texted her a series of ellipses to indicate his speechlessness
Julien meant it when he said he wanted to go back to Aurich sooner, but he was held up with errands during the day. Besides, he couldn’t expect Shelmaine to abandon her work during the day to pick him up at the airport
Sighing, he couldn’t help noting with some resentment how slowly time passed.
When he finally returned to Aurich, he was irked to End his driver waiting for him at the airport. He was even more aggravated when the driver called him. “I told you not to pick me up,” he snapped.
The driver blinked. “I was-
Julien cut him off irritably “do back. You don’t have to pick me up, someone else will do it”
The driver had no choice but to obey
After that, julien waited at the airport for Shelmine to pick him up. When she called him, he did not teel as beleaguered anymore and quickly answered. “Hey, are you here?” “Yes. I’m surprised your flight wasn’t delayed,” she said on the other line
“Well, it wasn’t
“1 read on the news that it might be delayed due to bad weather,” she pointed out.
“Don’t you want to see me sooner? Julien asked unhappily, frowning
“Don’t flatter yourself, Jolien, Shelmaine warned with an exasperation she hadn’t felt before, not even with Sammel. She had to give Julien credit for being such a smooth–talker. She never asked for any of this, and she doubted she was so attractive that she deserved such attention.
“I can’t help it. It’s a part of me,” Julien said.
“I’m turning the car around
The threat worked, Julien cried in a panic, “Okay, I’ll stop. You can’t be that heartless, Shelly.”
Presently, Julien was dressed in a black velvet coat that made him look distinguished and refined. He even wore a pair of thin–frante glasses that accentuated his chiseled features He boasted a straight nose and sharp jawline, and his body was well sculpted.
He looked so attractive that he turned many heads, most of which belonged to young ladies.
Before Shelaine could close the distance between them, Julien beat her to it. She was startled when he pulled her into his arms. It felt like forever since he last saw h though it had only been a few days.

She patted has arm and said, “Watch the personal space.”
He released her and gave her a despairing look. He parted his lips to say something, but no words came out.
Melmator said, “Come on, doner’s on me ”
“okay” julien beamed “Wer an hour whatever you want. I’m not a picky eater.”
