Part 99 # Held at Gunpoint
SCREECH! The sound of a harsh collision made their car shake. Andre, Lara, the lawyer, and the driver were startled by the sudden event.
“What’s happening?!” Andre exclaimed, trying to understand the situation.
“We’ve been hit, Sir!” the driver replied, gasping for breath. Instead of stopping and confronting the driver behind, the driver accelerated the vehicle again.
However, unfortunately, his efforts were in vain. The car behind them deliberately crashed into them again… SCREECH!
“Argh!” All the passengers were almost thrown out if they hadn’t been wearing seat belts.
“Hold on!” The driver yelled as Andre’s car almost tipped over due to the intense impact!
Swiftly, the driver managed to take control of the situation. He immediately stabilized the vehicle and accelerated it again at high speed.
“Watch out!” The lawyer, who was sitting beside the driver, shouted with a pounding heart as there was a road barrier ahead of them.
“Shit!” The driver skillfully turned the steering wheel to avoid the fatal accident threatening their lives.
“Oh, no!” Lara cried out in fear as the car sped up. She was once again reminded of the accident with Mahya that happened some time ago.
The car continued to drive through the deserted streets. Night had fallen. They soon realized that the disturbance they had caused some time ago had not yielded results. The two unfamiliar cars were still chasing them and now becoming more daring in their actions.
“Maybe they were waiting for nightfall,” Lara began to think negatively and speculated that those people were hired assassins sent by Seno, as usual.
“Don’t think negatively, Ra. We’ll be fine,” Andre said, trying to stay calm even though cold sweat had soaked most of his body. His heart was racing along with the increasing speed of the car.
Andre scanned the surroundings, dark. They were on a deserted road whose exact location was unknown. The man began to open the map on his smartphone. Nothing. The cell phone signal couldn’t reach that location either.
“We can’t call the police?” Lara asked with a trembling voice.
“Unfortunately not. The signal is difficult here,” Andre sighed as he tried to find a way out. What could he do when all movements were restricted?Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
CLUNK! The car suddenly stopped when it turned out there was a large hole gaping in front of them. It seemed that the driver had not paid much attention to the public works marker that had been installed on the road earlier.
“Damn it!” The driver immediately put the car in reverse to find another way, but… the two pursuing cars instead surrounded them.
They were trapped in the middle of a deserted road with two pursuing cars blocking them in front and behind. All avenues of escape felt tightly closed, and the darkness of the night added tension there.
“We have to find a way out of this situation,” the lawyer said tensely, trying to maintain calm amidst the chaos.
Andre and the driver tried to find a gap or opportunity to escape, but the situation became more complicated with the arrival of the two pursuing cars that surrounded them.
“There’s an alternative road over there!” Lara shouted, pointing to a small road that could be seen on the right side of the main road.
The driver quickly decided to try that route as a last-ditch effort to escape. Carefully, their car turned onto that small road, hoping to avoid the enemy’s pursuit.
However, what happened in front of them surprised them. The small road turned out to be a trap, with the two pursuing cars already waiting at the end, closing off any possibility of escape.
“We’re trapped!” Andre said despairingly.
There was no way out visible before them. They were truly trapped in the middle of the dark night, pursued by unknown enemies.
“We have to prepare to face them,” Andre said firmly, preparing for the worst possible situation.
They all tensed, ready to face whatever would happen next. The darkness of the night thickened around them, adding to the tension enveloping the dire situation.
The roar of the cars echoed in the midst of the silence that lingered. The headlights dazzled the eyes, as the cars finally stopped, leaving only unanswered questions for anyone.
“Stop right there!” commanded one of the tall men in black suits who finally began to speak. The man looked quite tall and large, with dark sunglasses hiding his eye color.
“Who are you?” Andre asked, positioning his body in front of Lara.
Both Andre, Lara, the lawyer, and the driver finally all got out of the car. They tried to talk and ask questions that should have been answerable by those unfamiliar men. However, before thinking about how to escape from the trapped situation, they had to know the attackers’ motives so they could clearly understand what was happening.
“Why do you need to know who we are?” the big man replied with a smirk more accurately interpreted as a sneer than a smile.
“Is it Seno who sent you?!” Lara also didn’t stay silent. She wanted to know the truth, although her voice sounded trembling.
The big man just smiled cynically, without giving a direct answer. Around them, the atmosphere seemed to be getting tenser. Three other men followed from the other car, dressed similarly to the big man before.
“We don’t have time for silly questions like that,” said one of the foreign men with a cold and firm voice.
Andre tried to maintain his calm demeanor, although in his heart he kept wondering about the motive behind their attack. “What do you want from us?”
The big man approached Andre while taking off the sunglasses that had been perched on his nose. “We’ve been assigned to solve a problem, and you are part of it. Now, give us what we’re looking for, or you’ll face the consequences.”
Andre and the others looked at each other, trying to understand the situation they were facing. They had no choice but to cooperate with the unfamiliar men, at least for now.
“Alright, we’ll work with you,” Andre finally said, deciding to comply with the request of the unfamiliar men for their safety first.
“Okay, listen carefully,” said one of the foreign men, taking out a bag from his car. “We’re looking for a valuable item believed to be in your possession. Hand over that item to us, and you’ll be released unharmed.”
Andre and the others looked at each other, trying to understand what the unfamiliar man meant. If the item in question was the CCTV recording of Mahya’s accident, it meant that Seno’s side had read their move to uncover that important event.
However, if Andre handed over the new evidence, it would mean they were committing suicide. There was no other evidence that could incriminate Seno other than that CCTV recording.
“We don’t have what you’re looking for,” Andre replied firmly.
“Don’t lie!” one of the foreign men exclaimed, threateningly. “We know the item is here, and we won’t leave until we get it.”
The situation was heating up, with threats and tensions escalating. Andre and the others had to find a way to deal with the foreign men and escape from the increasingly dangerous situation. However, before they could truly do that, a soft ‘click’ was heard right in front of them.
“Hand it over now, or you’ll die right here!”
