Henry was restless as he sat on his swivel chair in his office. That had been the case ever since Emelda was kidnapped a week ago. Yes, it was already a week since she got kidnapped. Just then his phone rang, 'Ringg.... ringggg' He glanced at the caller ID, and hissed. It was an anonymous number. Who was it? He picked the call, and put it on handsfree. However, he tapped the 'start recording' button. He didn't want to take chances. "Hello?" A deep baritone boomed from the other line. Henry remained silent. "Hahaha... I know you can hear me. Well, how are you coping?" The voice mocked. Henry clenched his fists, as he became alert, "Who are you?" Who was this person? How did he know that something happened to him? "Well... You don't deserve to know who I am.... But I want this to serve as a warning to you." The man at the other end, snarled. "A warning?!" Henry sprang up. "Stay away from Quinn, and you can have your daughter. Else.." He let his words hang. "Don't try anything stupid." Henry growled. "Nope... I should be saying that to you, you know. Stay away from Quinn, make her leave your mansion." The guy continued saying. Henry frowned, "Whoever you are, I'm sure you are acquainted with Quinn. And I'm sure you know very well, that Emelda is her daughter.." Henry began saying.
"Do I care?" The guy chuckled. "Hurting Emelda is equivalent to hurting her." Henry said. A chuckle came from the other end of the line, "Listen Mr Henry and listen good, I didn't say I would hurt Emelda." The guy said. "Then?" Henry was puzzled. Wasn't that what he said just now? "I would kill her, Henry." The guy said laughing. However, to Henry, his laughter sounded like that of the devil instead. "You dare not... Do you know that she is a Stone? The Stones will personally hunt you down, if you go as far as pulling a strand of her hair." "Say whatever you want. I'm sure you know what is best. Once I confirm that Quinn has left your mansion, your daughter will be released. Safe and sound..." The guy chuckled again, and hung up. Henry sighed when he heard the beep sound in his ears. 'Bastard...' He cursed inwardly. He played the recording, and almost threw his phone on the ground. How could someone be so inhumane? Going as far as kidnapping a little child as Emelda? He deserved to die! But... The person threatened him to leave Quinn. He had to play the recording in the presence of Quinn. She might have an inkling of who it was... How dare that person call him, just to threaten him? And not with anybody else, but his own daughter! The guts! He pranced around his office, and sighed at intervals. What could he do? He couldn't let go of Quinn; not after his suffering. Yet, he couldn't allow his daughter to die... He was in a dilemma... His eyes were slanted as he thought of what to do... There was only one thing; discuss it with Quinn. If he wanted to do things secretively, he could end up hurting his daughter.
'Damn it!' He headed to the bathroom in his office. His head was hurting. He needed to cool off a bit.... =============== Los Angeles. Kathleen's villa. Kathleen stared at the familiar young man seated in front of her. He was that same man who had offered to partner with her, the other time at the office! "You aren't doing anything. Don't you want your marriage to become stable?" Stephen smirked as he looked at her tensed expression. "I want to. But...." She began and paused again. "But what?" Stephen probed. "Forget it." She waved her hands dismissively. How could she let him know that she had a one night stand with another guy in a club, on the very night if their marriage? Or that she was having an affair? There was no way she would reveal her shameful escapades to him. Stephen remained silent for a while. And then he spoke up, "Quinn will leave Henry's mansion in a few days. I want you to see to it that she does not come back." He said in a serious tone. Kathleen was surprised. How could he be sure of that? "How do you know?" She asked cautiously. "I guessed. Hahaha..." Stephen said laughing. Kathleen wasn't amused at all... She knew that the young man was a very dangerous man. She could even sense it from the aura he was emitting at that moment. "So, what do I have to do?" Kathleen asked. "Here." Stephen threw a small bottle at her. She caught it deftly and examined it. However, she frowned. The bottle was white, and there was nothing that gave it away. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
"The substance in it , will make Henry have temporary amnesia. You can move back into his mansion then." He explained. "But how can I administer it to him, when I can't even get close to him?" She was getting exasperated. What was wrong with this young man? "I don't have to teach you everything, Miss Kathleen. If you can't figure out how to do something as simple as that, then you are not qualified to work with me." Stephen said without pity. Kathleen glared at him in annoyance. She felt like scratching his face, however she decided against it. She didn't know his identity. What if he had the power to make her conglomerate go bankrupt? "Okay... I will think of a way." Kathleen sighed. "You have to. Have a nice day." Stephen smiled and stood up. "I won't be seeing you out then." Kathleen said tiredly. "Your business." He turned and left her villa. After his departure, Kathleen sighed. Making sure that Quinn never came back to the mansion was acceptable. But wasn't making Henry have temporary amnesia, going too far? Well, she had done so many dirty things. Adding one more wouldn't hurt. It wasn't as if she was killing anyone, by the way... 'I'm doing this for Henry. That bitch isn't qualified to be with him.' She thought to herself.
