Love With My Billionaire Boss

Emelda

Emelda

Washington DC. In a Cafe. Henry sat impatiently on a chair as he furrowed his brows. Quinn had brought him here and told him to wait while she went to pick Emelda. And here he was... Patiently waiting for the both of them to come back. He tapped his fingers occasionally on the table. When was she coming back. There was a sound at the entrance of the cafe, and he raised his head up to see Quinn walking into the cafe with a very beautiful little girl. Quinn knew that it would be inconvenient for Henry and Emelda to meet at the Stones residence. So she had chosen this cafe for their meeting. She held her daughter's hands tightly and led her to the table where Henry was seated. Henry held his breath as he watched the girl approaching him. 'She's beautiful.' He didn't blink his eyes even for once as he continued looking at her. They soon got to the table and sat down on the vacant seats. Quinn rubbed her palms together, "So sweetheart, meet my partner at work, Mr Henry. And Mr Henry," She turned towards Henry, "Meet my daughter, Emelda." She smiled. Henry couldn't say a word for a minute, and when he attempted to, they came out in stutters, "Hi... Em...elda." He suddenly felt stupid. Why was he acting as if....? On her part, Quinn was amused as she watched his reaction. Everything was broken when Emelda raced from her seat, and jumped unto Henry's laps.. "Nice to meet you, Uncle Henry." She snuggled closer into his arms. Quinn watched her daughter's actions in awe. Both of them were shocked at her reaction. Quinn was wondering why she was acting in that manner. Otherwise, Emelda was a sensible child. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Henry on his part was surprised at the warm feeling in his arms. However, he had to act matured. And so, reluctantly he gently pushed Emelda off his body, "You look very beautiful, Emelda. Nice to meet you too." He watched her with a feeling of nostalgia. That was because as he stared at the girl in front of him, it was almost as if he was watching a reflection of himself. There and then, he knew that she was his daughter. However, there was still a 10% chance that she wasn't his... As she called him Uncle, he had felt sad. Couldn't she call him, father? "Alright, go back to your seat." Quinn coerced. Emelda shook her head, "I want to sit with Uncle." She protested. Quinn was stumped. What the hell was wrong with her daughter? "Go back to-" "Don't worry, I don't mind her sitting on my lap." Henry smiled. It was good that Emelda felt comfortable with him. At least, if she was his daughter, it wouldn't be hard to form a bond with her. Emelda hopped happily on Henry , who scooped her up and placed her on his laps. "There you go.." Henry chuckled. "Uncle.... Do you like my mummy?" Emelda looked at him with her large eyes. She looked adorable. Henry opened his mouth to speak, but he closed them again. "Stop asking such questions Emelda." Quinn chided. She was feeling uncomfortable with Emelda's questions. And so was Henry... "My mummy loves my daddy. It's a pity, that you can't be my daddy." Emelda continued. Henry looked at her in surprise. Was she really ten years old? Why was she speaking like an adult of 25? "Stop talking, Emelda. If you don't, Mr Henry is going to drop you from his laps." Quinn warned. Emelda promptly shut up. She pouted her lips cutely. However....

Henry's mood had been dampened. He felt, he couldn't continue eating anymore.. So, she was truly married? Quinn also saw the change in his expression... She lowered her head. "Mum? Aren't you ordering anything?" Emelda asked innocently. Quinn and Henry stared at each other and turned their gazes away. ............................... Quinn declined Henry's request to drive them back home. She hopped into her car instead, and drove off.. Henry ran his hands in frustration... So, she wasn't joking after all? He looked at the strand of hair in his hand and sighed. He had pulled it off from Emelda's head when she had jumped on his laps. He did discreetly that none of them noticed. Now, he could finally find out if Emelda was his daughter.... But if she was, what could he do? What else? He was going to take back what belonged to him. And he was taking Quinn back too. He turned on the ignition of his car and drove in the direction of the airport. He had to return to California. His mind was unsettled as he drove. Earlier on, when Emelda was in his embrace, his mind had been filled with warmth. He had felt one kind of indescribable peace. He stepped harder on the accelerator and increased his speed. ============================ Quinn was quiet as they drove back to the mansion. Emelda was looking at the scenery through the window. "Mummy? Do you like Uncle Henry?" Emelda turned her gaze towards and questioned. Quinn chuckled; her daughter was too smart for her age. "I don't like him, baby girl." Quinn turned the steering wheel with her left hand, and patted her daughter's head with the right.

"But I like him. I want him to be my daddy." Emelda said. "But you already have a daddy." Quinn pointed out in surprise. "Mum... I know he isn't my daddy." Emelda looked at her mother with clear eyes. Quinn's heart almost stopped beating as she heard her daughter's words. "What did you say? Of course he is your daddy." Quinn tried to remain calm. "Mum. You don't need to continue lying to me. I'm smart enough to realize he isn't." Emelda shrugged. Quinn looked at her daughter. Was her daughter really ten years old? Why was she so smart? It must be her parents genes.... "How long have you known?" Quinn looked at her daughter in a new light. "Doesn't matter mum." She shrugged. "Then why did you tell Mr Henry-" "That? I wanted to make him jealous. If he likes you, he is going to fight for you." Emelda chuckled.
