Her friends
Her friends
It was evening. Kyra and her mother were in the kitchen preparing dinner. The friends decided that it was time to leave. "Ma'am, We are about to leave!" Emelda shouted. She had visited alongside her friends... "Really?! I will be there in a sec." Kyra's mother yelled from the kitchen. She soon came out, wiping her hands on her apron. "Leaving already? No way... You guys must stay for breakfast." Kyra's mother said. "Ma'am.. We'll have to apologize then. We gotta go." "Of course you can... After having dinner with us." Although she was smiling, her tone was firm. She wouldn't let them go. The friends were quiet for a while, and then they sighed, "Okay ma... We'll stay for dinner." They dragged their feet back to the living room and sat on the sofa. "Great... Dinner will be ready in five..." With that, she dashed back to the kitchen. .................. The door opened, and the friends were startled. A man walked into the room. One look at him, and the friends could tell that he was Kyra's father. The resemblance after all, was uncanny... "Who are you?" David asked as he walked towards them. "We are Kyra's classmates." They said politely. "Classmates? And what are you guys here for?" He frowned. "They came to visit Kyra. I wasn't well this morning." His wife said as she approached. "You were unwell? What's wrong with you?" He walked towards her, and scrutinized her body worriedly. "Be calm David... We have guests." She chuckled helplessly. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"What is wrong with you?" David didn't budge, but continued probing. "She had fever. But it's all gone now." Kyra was the one that answered as she set the dining table.. Soon, the Locke's family alongside the friends were all seated round the dining table, enjoying a hearty meal. The friends felt at ease with Kyra's parents. They were kindhearted, and yes, sensible too. "Wouldn't your parents be worried about your whereabouts?" Kyra's father suddenly questioned as he chewed on a chicken drumstick. Before the friends could respond, Kyra's mother beat them to it, "I don't think they would. They are young adults after all, right Jax?" She laughed lightly. "We already informed them that we wouldn't be coming home early." Jace lied on behalf of his friends. "Oh, that's okay... That means we can have some popcorn while watching TV right?" Lucy suggested excitedly. "Sure... That would be quite fun." The friends nodded. ............... After dinner, they piled themselves to the living room and turned on the TV. Kyra went to the kitchen to get some popcorn with some juice. Few minutes later, everyone's eyes were glued to the screen. However, the friends sneaked a glance at Kyra occasionally.. They wanted to leave! Especially Emelda.... When they couldn't stand it anymore, they sprang up, "We'll be taking our leave now." They smiled politely. "I guess I can't stop you guys this time. What a pity.... Well, come along another time." Lucy smiled. "Of course. It will be our pleasure. Thanks for treating us to dinner." Julianne said appreciatively. "The pleasure is ours... Kyra, see them off." Lucy prompted her daughter. Kyra got up from the sofa, and led them out, "Take care." She said simply and headed back inside. She knew her parents would become suspicious if she stayed out for long.
Emelda and her friends didn't stop her. They watched her leave. "That was awesome. I love her parents." Emelda rubbed her hands together. She got into her car which the driver was already holding the door open for her. .......................... The Stones family residence. In the living room, Quinn and her parents were watching TV. Quinn yawned repeatedly, and rubbed her eyes, in an attempt to remain awake. "Go to bed, Quinn." Her mother slurred out from her position on the sofa. Quinn nodded; that was what she was about to do anyways. "Goodnight, mum and dad." She made her way towards the stairs. As she got to the stairs, she remembered something and came back to the living room. Her parents raised their heads in unison. "Forgot something?" Her mother questioned. "Yeah... I didn't blow you a kiss. Mwah..." She chuckled. "What about Emelda?" Nicole asked. "Her bed." She's tired." With that, she raced upstairs. She needed to sleep. ........... Quinn plopped down on her bed tiredly and sighed. At that moment, something occured to her. Her husband.... He wasn't in her room. Or was he lurking somewhere in her room? The bathroom perhaps? She decided to try her luck. "I know you are there, Henry." She said confidently. The room was quiet for a while. And then, she heard a low chuckle from the bathroom. "Missing me?" Henry smirked. "I said nothing like that, mister..." Quinn replied. She got off the bed, and pulled off her sweater and shorts.
She went to her closet, and picked out a nightwear. Then, she finally sprawled herself on the bed. "You aren't taking a bath before retiring for the night?" Henry chuckled. "None of your business. What I need right now, is just to sleep." Quinn drawled. She went back to the bed, and laid down on it. Henry chuckled. Water dripped down his body. He had been taking a shower when he had heard the door open. He turned off the faucet and had pretended not to be there. Glancing down at his young 'buddy', he went back to the bathroom. He needed to sort himself out. That was if he needed a good sleep.. ============== Henry shook his head as he came out of the bathroom. He didn't even bother to clean himself up. He just plopped down on the bed beside Quinn. He pulled the sheets over the both of them, and nestled closer to her. Sighing, he forced himself to fall asleep. After some minutes, he turned his head the other way... Quinn's unique scent was tormenting him. How was he to fall asleep like that? He sighed again, and slowly closed his eyes.
