Daughter-in-law to be. Henry's parents walked straight to the doorstep, and pushed the door open. It wasn't even locked! They sauntered into the living room with a smile plastered on their faces. They were finally going to see Quinn Stones! As they walked in, they directly walked over to the couch and made themselves comfortable. Quinn walked downstairs, and she was surprised to see the people seated in the living room. "Good day." She nodded at them politely. Parker was displeased by her attitude, but he says nothing. After all, the girl standing in front of them was the foster daughter of the Stones, and their potential daughter-in-law! "Take a sit... We are Henry's parents." Parker introduced. "Oh, welcome. But Henry isn't around..." Quinn was puzzled. Why would they visit by this time? She was sure they knew that Henry would be at work by that time of the day. So why did they visit? Unless of course, they had other intentions.. "Oh... We are aware of that.." Matilda smiled. Quinn frowned. If they weren't here to see Henry, then... "We wanted to see you." Parker explained. "What? Me?" Quinn pointed at herself. "Yes... You." Parker clarified. "What for, if I may ask?" Quinn frowned. "Our son is getting a divorce. Are you aware of that?" Parker began. Quinn stared at them in confusion. Did they misunderstand something? Henry's parents saw the sincere confusion on her face, and looked at each other. Wasn't she supposed to be happy that Henry was getting divorced? "Well, we want you to become our daughter-in-law." Matilda smiled. "That's right. You see, we actually wanted you to get married to our son. However, he refused. We
are actually happy that he is finally getting a divorce." Parker added. Quinn watched them in amusement. What did they take her for? Did they think she was unaware of the circumstance behind the marriage between Kathleen and Henry? Fools! "Well, thank you for letting me. I will think about it." She smiled. Parker and his wife's face blushed red. They could understand the underlying meaning behind her words. By thanking them for the information, she meant that they were gossips. "Well, that's good. We will take our leave now." They stood up and made to leave. "Alright. I won't be seeing you guys out." Quinn leaned back on the sofa with a smile. Frowning Henry's parents left the mansion. Once they were in their car, Matilda turned to her husband, "What do you say about her attitude towards her attitude towards us, just now?" Matilda was annoyed. "Well, we have to bear with her for now. Once she becomes our daughter-in-law, we will stand to gain a lot." Parker comforted. "Yes. That was the exact reason I tolerated her, just now." Matilda leaned back in the passenger seat in front and closed her eyes. ................... Quinn sat quietly at a spot after they left. What could Henry have said to his parents? Why did they mention getting married to their son? She was going to wait for Henry's return.... He had to offer a reasonable explanation for what had happened today. ************************** Nighttime. Henry was already dozing off in his study, when Quinn pushed the door and came in. She walked over to him, and directly stood beside him, "I want you to clarify something." She said simply.
Henry could sense anger in her voice. He was now widely awake. "Go ahead and speak." He caressed her hands which were placed on the table in front of him. "Your parents were here earlier on." It only took a simple sentence to almost send Henry into having a panic attack. "What!!!!" He sprang up and grabbed her shoulders. Knowing his benefit seeking parents, he was sure that after his discussion with them that day, they must have discovered who Quinn was. And he was sure they came to say something about pairing them together. Those sly foxes! "What did you tell them?" Quinn asked him with narrowed eyes. "I said nothing..." Henry denied. "I know you are lying." Quinn hardened her voice. "Listen, I said nothing!" Henry couldn't help but raise his voice a little. "Raising your voice at me? That's cool." Quinn walked out of the study angrily. Henry rushed after her, and pulled her back into his embrace. "I'm sorry.." He whispered. Quinn struggled to pull herself out of his embrace. "That is your busine-" Her words were cut short, as Henry locked his lips with hers. "Mmn." She let her hands fall limply by her side. Henry kissed her until both of them became breathless. "I said I'm sorry..." Henry pushed back her bangs from her face. Quinn looked at him for a while, "I guess you are. I don't even know why I'm angry at you, instead of your parents..." Quinn sighed. "Let's head to the bedroom?" Henry smiled as he questioned. Quinn nodded. ============================= Washington DC. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Morning. Stephen sat on his bed brooding. How could he get rid of Henry and claim Quinn for himself? Kathleen seemed incompetent. But she had her own use... So, he had to keep her for now. What if he created a misunderstanding between them? How could he go about that? There was only one way to do that... Kidnapping Emelda. If he did, the Stones and even Quinn herself would suspect Henry. And if didn't, he could drop a hint for her. She must come back to him. She was his in the first place! Pulling out his phone, he scrolled through his contacts, and dialed a number. After few rings, the person at the other end of the line picked up, "Hello?" A deep baritone sounded. The call was on handsfree, so the person's voice could be heard clearly. "I have a job for you." Stephen said. "What nature? Bloody or none?" The person asked. "None." Stephen replied. "We have to discuss it at our headquarters." The person said calmly. "Alright." Stephen hung up, and threw his phone on the bed. The relationship between Henry and Quinn was about to come to an end... It was time to create some chaos!!!
