“Seriously, do I have to come too?”
Ghea pursed her lips. It was Sunday, and she should be enjoying her day off by relaxing or lounging on the bed. However, Ghea’s joy was disrupted when Randy suddenly notified her to attend an office event scheduled for tonight. Why did there have to be a party? Ghea was not fond of attending crowded events like that.
“Well, you must come, my love,” Randy replied gently. Approaching his wife lying on the bed, he came closer. Then, he reached for Ghea’s body, pulling her into his embrace. “You’re the boss’s wife. It wouldn’t look good if I come alone.”
“You can go with your assistant, Alvin, Uncle,” Ghea tried to persuade. Swearing for any reason, she had already prepared tonight to relax while watching a Korean drama.
“Alvin is definitely coming. But, it’s boring if we always go together. Now that I have a wife, she should be empowered. Or do you want me to go with another woman?”
Ghea immediately glared. At that moment, she pushed Randy’s body away from her a bit.
“Another woman? Agista, your former favorite perhaps?”
Ghea’s tone sounded sharp, and a clear aura of jealousy appeared on her cute face.
“Whatever,” Randy replied, lifting both his shoulders. “If you want me to go with Agista, fine. Or any other female staff who is willing to accompany me, also fine. You know yourself that your husband is among the popular guys.”
“Hiss! Be careful if Uncle dares to do anything,” Ghea threatened, frowning. “I’ll cut you off so you can’t fly around here and there,” she added while glancing at Randy’s heirloom under there.
“Don’t play with cutting, Ghe. If you cut, you’ll be the one in trouble.”
Ghea squinted her eyes.
“Why would I be in trouble?”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“Well, if you want it, what will I present to you?”
“Don’t worry, I can find someone else,” Ghea replied casually.
“I swear, no one will want you.”
Now it was Randy’s turn to pout. He had just been sweet, and now he was discarded just like that. Not polite!
“I really don’t feel like going to these office events, Uncle. You’ll probably gather with big bosses. I have no idea what to talk about.”
Randy smiled. From the beginning, he knew that his wife had absolutely no interest in the business world. So, it was only natural for her to be reluctant to meet or talk with big clients who were his work partners.
“You don’t have to say anything, Ghe. Just stand by my side. It’s not difficult, right? Besides, you love lazing around at home.”
“Being lazy is beneficial, right?” Ghea defended herself.
“There’s no such thing as beneficial laziness. It’s ridiculous.”
“Yes, there is, Uncle,” Ghea debated, not accepting it. “For example, being lazy to argue with others. Being lazy to engage in rough debates that ultimately lead to fights. And lastly, being lazy to meddle in other people’s lives that are not our business. Those three lazinesses are quite beneficial, right?”
Unconsciously, Randy nodded. Well, what else could he do? His wife was speaking the truth.
“Okay, you’re right with all your arguments. But, going back to the initial invitation to come to tonight’s event. Please, will you? I also want to show off how beautiful my wife is to everyone.”
“Why are you insisting so much?” Ghea continued to ask. Randy had given reasons repeatedly for why she had to participate tonight.
Then, Randy gazed intently at Ghea. He locked his eyes onto her black orbs, then put on a serious expression.
“Where there’s an earring, there’s wood. I’m nothing without you, dear. If you’re not by my side tonight, it feels so empty. Imagine, even ATMs are together, why not us?”
“Oh, your flattery is unbearable, Uncle.”
“I’m serious, my love. Besides, you won’t be bored. Seriously. Luna and Veronica will also come tonight.”
Ghea seemed to be weighing her options. Hearing the names Luna and Veronica mentioned, she nodded. She thought it would be nice to meet and gather with her sisters-in-law at such a big event.
“Okay, I’ll come. In that case, I’ll choose a dress now.”
