Rescued
Belle couldn’t close her eyes since Mev left. There was fear in her mind. She was expecting Tiger to come so she could decline his offer and was also prepared if he tried anything with her.
It was dark in the room now, the lights were turned off from somewhere else other than the room. It made her clutch one of the pillows tight.
She could hear her breathing in the quiet room, heavy as they were. She blinked now and then to stop the tears that wouldn’t stop forming in her tired eyes.
She heard a familiar sound, the unlocking of the door. Her breathing got heavier than they already were. She saw a male figure walk in, and rather than sitting up to face him as she planned in her head, she laid still, closing her eyes and hoping he would just walk back out.
She still had her eyes closed when she felt a gloved hand touch her face, her heart skipped. The hand caressed her cheeks first and then her lips, slowly parting them.
Ben, that was the first thought that came to her because he did that to her whenever they were together; he loved to play with her lips and it felt like she could smell his cologne.
‘It isn’t Ben, it’s Tiger.” She told herself before pushing the hand away from her face and coming down from the bed through the other side.
The door was unusually left open after he came in, so she went for it, running to leave through it but she was stopped.
The man grabbed her by the waist and pinned her to the wall. She tried to push him with all the strength she had but he didn’t let her make that effort. His hands went around her neck, pushing her head to the right and whispering in her left ear.
“It’s me.” She stopped struggling.
“Ben?” She relaxed for the first time in days. He took his hand off her neck and she immediately brought her face to his, trying to see his face in the dark room.
She could smell him more precisely now, her adrenaline rush had reduced so quickly after hearing his voice.
“Ben.” She put her arms around him and hugged him tightly, sobbing as she inhaled more of him.
They both turned to the door when they heard someone’s footsteps. The person stopped walking after reaching the open door, they could see the shadow of this person.
“Don’t move from here, no matter what,” Ben told her and got a nod from her.”Close your eyes.” He added that he didn’t want her to witness what he might have to do.
Belle was hesitant at first, confusion written on her face but she decided to trust him and do like he said.
The lights came on and Tiger walked in, his eyes first went to the bed before turning in Ben and Belle’s direction. With quick action, Ben charged at him before he could do so.
Belle heard a thud, like someone was been slammed against the wall but she shut her eyes tighter, shaking with new grown fear as she tried to control her nervousness.
“Arrgh!” She heard Tiger grunt in pain. She opened her eyes to see.
Tiger was holding an edgy knife directly in front of Ben’s face but he couldn’t get it close to his skin because Ben held his wrist to stop him. There was also blood coming from Tiger’s right ear. Belle gasped and covered her mouth with both her hands making Ben turn to her. She immediately shut her eyes again.
As soon as she shut her eyes again, she heard what sounded like a body being plunked to the ground. After that, it became quiet in the room, and the only thing should hear was her heavy breathing.
A hand touched her face and she gasped in fear, opening her eyes simultaneously to see Ben. She hugged him, standing on her toes to be able to put her arms around his neck.
While still hugging him with her head on his shoulder, her eyes caught Tiger laying on the floor, looking lifeless.
“Is he okay?” She found herself asking and was unsure why. She separated their hug.
“He’s alive. I want the police to come and find him this way. I need him to mention the name of the person that paid him to capture you.”
“The police?”
“Yes, they will be here soon. Come, let me take you home.” He took her hand and left the room.
For the first time since she was brought there against her will, she saw outside the walls of the room she was forced to stay in. They walked through a long narrow hallway which was dimly lit by a yellow glow from a night light before they finally got to a door. Ben led her through, and she could see another door not so far away; it was open too.
Finally, she was leaving this place. She couldn’t believe that there wasn’t any other person around except Tiger and Mev.
‘Mev, where is she?’ She also thought but then shrugged it off, she didn’t mind much to know where she was, all she wanted was to be taken away from there.
She wanted to hug Brie, she missed her. She also missed Cherry. She wanted to go to sleep without being scared of what would happen to her while she slept.
When they got outside, Belle couldn’t see the car parked there; the only bulb lighting the whole place was flickery and didn’t help one to see much of the surroundings but Ben led her to the car. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
“You came with a driver?” She expressed her surprise when she saw someone standing in front of the car. The person opened the door for her and Ben helped her get in.
Meanwhile, Mev saw them when they were exiting the room but she hid; she didn’t try to stop Ben from leaving with Belle.
She hadn’t mentioned to Belle earlier but she was also a victim of Tiger. She was kidnapped once for a ransom but her family couldn’t afford to pay so Tiger made her work with him.
Seeing Ben and Belle leave, she didn’t think twice about utilizing the opportunity to also escape. She waited for the car to drive out because she didn’t want Ben to know there was someone else; she couldn’t face him. As soon as they left, she started to run, not knowing where she was headed but at least she could finally be free.
