Lyceon - The dark lord

Chapter-35: The serpent

Allison winced as she stepped down the stairs. Her body was sore and in pain but she refused to stay in bed the whole time. She was thinking of exploring the place in the backside of the mansion where the houses of the pack members start lining up after a few metres. Or maybe manifesting her powers to practice. She knew she needed to work on it soon if she wanted to get out of this powerful prison.

"Oh Ali, why did you come down? Do you need anything? You could have rung me up?" Bonnie jogged to her side to help her as soon as she spotted Allison coming down.

"I didn't want to bother you, Bonnie. Besides, I want to stroll around the garden. I am fed up with being seated over and it's not comfortable enough for the long hours." Allison told her and Bonnie helped her walk out in the calm evening where the sun was setting.

"Please don't hesitate to call me if you need anything. I could have accompanied you but I need to prepare dinner." Bonnie said. Allison nodded before she left.

Allison walked around the calming garden region which had become her favourite spot. It was an enormous one that circled the whole mansion from the sides and had all types of plants, herbs and flowers. It automatically brought a smile to her face. She felt these flowers talking to her, washing her worries. She has grown up around these calming places. That's why the moon goddess gave her the innate ability to become a healer.

She inspected and studied many plants there and explored the garden. Few plants which she didn't know about, she took pics of them to dig about them later on. She utilised this time for enhancing her education and distracting her attention from her aching body.

She felt relieved after venting out her true feelings to Lyceon last night and was grateful that He didn't bother her afterward. She didn't have the energy to put up with him and his hypocrisy.

Sighing, she exhaled a puffed breath and summoned up her energy. She had read books on her energies and powers, her mother told her to read and practise them when she would turn the required age. She had learned enough knowledge to manifest her powers.

She clenched her fingers and the familiar green flames ignited on her fingertips and then again went off in a moment. She sighed, knowing that she had to concentrate more and harness the other thoughts mixing up with her centre of mind. One thing at one time!

Allison didn't take note of the time as she was immersed in her search. It was almost dark. Her concentration broke when she heard the rushing sound near her. Whoosh!

She snapped her head to her right behind the big tree with heavy bushes but couldn't see anyone. Allison blinked up and walked to that direction to see if someone was there or some animal like cat or dog. Her mind mocked her ironic thoughts. Cats and dogs and too among these feral beasts. No chance!

She sighed but still walked towards the tree when she spotted the shadow and low hissing sound. Allison ceased her steps, wanting to back up and walked back to the mansion. She felt fear and uneasiness gripped her body. She shouldn't be there right!

It couldn't be some wolf, but... Maybe it needed help. Her kind heart couldn't let her backup and she called the source of the shadow.

"Hey.. umm.. Who is there?" She asked softly as she bent her head to look carefully.

"Hey, are you okay? Look, if you need any kind of help, I can...."

Suddenly Allison stopped when she spotted the pair of yellow orbs emerging from behind the trees in the dark.

Allison could swear she saw the woman's face as it moved forwards but the next second her skin glowed pale green, smooth and covered in scales. From her partially opened mouth, Allison could see a forked tongue and long fangs. Her nose was a pair of small slits and her hair replaced with a writhing nest of dark indigo snakes as she came into the view of Allison's eyes with her slithering movements with face high up in the air.

The rest of her was just ominous. Allison was stunned, rooted to the ground, seeing the creature in front of her eyes.

The cold yellow eyes terrified the soul of Allison as it let out a harsh and vociferous hiss before striking towards Allison.

Allison let out a blood curdling scream before snapping out of her stillness. She retreated and dashed for her dear life seeing the big Serpent crawling on its belly after her at high speed.

Allison's heart pounded loudly in her chest and the pain in her body almost choked her but she didn't stop. She cried out loudly because the green serpent frightened her to the core.

She heard another hissing sound and flew in the direction of Mansion. She knew her feet 'wounds must be bleeding after the great pressure she was putting on them but she had no choice thinking this snake would swallow her raw if it caught her.

Tears gathered in her eyes as she dared to look back and the horrifying sight scared the shit out of her. The serpent was moving in its half-walking form now.

With another scream, Allison turned and knocked into something very hard. She shrieked and jerked back when someone grabbed her waist and pulled her up before she could touch the ground.

Allison realised it was someone and with an appalled face she looked up to see Him looking at her frowning. Without wasting time, She clung to him like glue because at the moment, nothing and no one could provide that solace to her other than him and she knew He was able to save her from anything.

After all, the Mate bond is something magical.
