Chapter 3456
An hour later, the carriage stopped.
Passengers rushed to exit the carriage. Fedellysia called out Fade, "Fade, we're here!"
Fade got out of the carriage and looked around.
Lush mountain peaks surrounded them and extended beyond. The foot of those peaks was covered with flat grassland, on which a huge courtyard was built.
Right then, everyone headed in the direction of the courtyard.
"Brother Chen, come here, quick!" Seeing Fade standing rooted to the spot, dazed, Faraz called him over.
Fade nodded and sped up to catch up with them. They walked all the way to the gate of the courtyard.
There was a signboard hanging at the door, on which the words "Yishin Hall" were carved. There were plenty of horse carriages parked on the side of the courtyard, with a large crowd entering and exiting the gates. It was quite a lively sight.
Judging from their uniforms, Fade concluded that they were most probably disciples from other martial arts schools there to attend the exchange programme.
With Fedellysia and the group being personal disciples of one of the three major martial arts schools, Autumn Lake Studio, they attracted a lot of attention as soon as they walked over.
Some took the initiative to come forward and greet them with a smile, while others pointed at them and gossiped behind their backs.
As the eldest of them all, Izaan greeted the crowd with a smile before walking towards the centre of the hall.
Upon entering the courtyard, Fade's eyes lit up.
The layout of that courtyard was greatly different from that of ordinary courtyards.
In the middle was an open space.
Around the open space were areas of squares divided by fences.
Some of them displayed a variety of weapons, some were planted with herbs, and some raised all kinds of demonic beasts. It was an eye-opening sight.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Fedellysia, who stood by Fade's side, noticed his surprised look and took the initiative to explain, "This courtyard is where we communicate and exchange our ideas and skills because different martial arts clubs are skilled in different aspects."
"That is why the way we exchange our knowledge and content of the communication is different, so we made arrangements that cover all aspects to ease the interaction."
"In fact, some martial arts clubs may even share martial arts techniques that are not considered to be of confidential importance and thoughts on improvement. They are here to exchange views and participate in friendly duals."
"I would say that this is a huge event that gathers disciples of all martial arts schools in Double City."
Fade understood and could not help nodding his head. He was in favour of such a method promoting a peaceful exchange of ideas.
After walking for a while, they finally came to a room located in a higher position and settled down on seats marked "Autumn Lake Studio".
Fade glanced around and saw more than a dozen signs in the room. They consisted of martial arts clubs in Double City.
Among them, the ones that stood out were "Autumn Lake Studio" and "Southern Mount Academy" located in the centre.
The other martial arts schools flanked their sides, covering a smaller area.
At present, members of Southern Mount Academy had yet arrived, while more than half of the crowd from other martial arts crowds had flooded the
area.
Izaan greeted everyone with a friendly expression.
Fade looked around and leaned in closer to Fedellysia. He asked, "Why aren't there signs of the Silver Moon Tribe? Aren't they one of the three major martial arts schools?"
Speaking of that, Fedellysia sighed and shook her head, explaining, "Silver Moon Tribe only takes in demonic beast disciples, which is in contrast with Southern Mount Academy. They will usually not show up in places where Southern Mount Academy appears."
"Members of most of the martial arts clubs attending this ceremony are human disciples. Half demon disciples like us are only here because we are accustomed to the lives of humans."
Hearing that, Fade's face turned solemn.
In his mind, he was reminded of the estrangement between registered disciples.
Plus, the matter that day gave him the feeling that Double City, which claimed to accommodate humans and demons, did not seem to be as harmonious as rumoured.
The contradiction between human beings and demonic beasts did not break out in the city, but it seemed to be ubiquitous.
It gave Fade a slightly uneasy feeling.
Just as Fade was lost in thought, the noisy scene quieted down. Everyone looked in the direction of the door.
Fade also turned his head and looked over. The light in his eyes dimmed as his expression darkened.
That was because the group of people who had entered wore green robes. They wore arrogant looks on their faces, and there seemed to be a trace of disdain in their eyes.
ne
With their heads raised up high and their chests puffed out, the sign labelled "Southern Mount Academy" pinned in front of their chests was particularly conspicuous.
The leader of the group was the genius disciple, Camden, whom Fade had met when he had visited Southern Mount Academy.
Beside Camden was Rucian, the disciple who had spoken up for Fade.
After a brief silence, the scene became lively.
Many immediately got up on their feet and greeted them with smiles.
"Members of Southern Mount Academy are here. Come on, come on in!"
"Mr. Mo, you' re here to participate in this gathering. It really is our honour!"
"Mr. Yao is here as well. The two great geniuses of Southern Mount Academy are dispatched. We're going to feast our eyes on watching them perform."
In the face of overwhelming flattering, Rucian smiled and politely chatted with everyone.
Camden, on the other hand, gently waved the folding fan in his hand and did not respond. He walked straight towards members of Autumn Lake Studio.
Izaan stood up with a smile and met Camden's eyes.
"Mr. Mo is here."
Seeing Izaan, Camden finally spoke, "Greetings, Izaan."
After the greeting, Camden shifted his gaze to glance at Fedellysia.
"Fedellysia, long time no see. I heard that you'll attend the gathering, so I took time off to come over..."
Compared to the others, Camden showed much enthusiasm towards Fedellysia.
Anyone knew why he acted that way towards her.
Everyone present could see through Camden at a glance.
Many of the young male warriors present had the same thoughts towards Fedellysia.
After all, Fedellysia's status and appearance were all top-notch in Double City.
All of the male warriors present dreamt of marrying such a woman.
Most of them were, however, well aware of the fact that their status and strength were not on par with her, so they buried the thought deep within their hearts.
Camden was, however, different. As
the top genius disciple of Southern
Mount Academy, he had a good family background. His grandfather, Renzo, was the same as Fedellysia's grandfather, Burhan, who was one of the three mayors of Double City.
It could be said that the two were a perfect match in terms of family background, strength, appearance, and public image.
Two years ago, Camden had begun his pursuit in trying to win Fedellysia over. At that time, he had caused quite a stir, so everyone in Double City knew about it.
Fedellysia rejected Camden's feelings for her with the excuse that she was young and would like to focus on improving her martial arts skills. Right then, two years had passed, but Camden was still as enthusiastic about Fedellysia.
At that moment, his face darkened when he saw the scene in front of him, wearing an unpleasant expression.
Just then, Fedellysia had explained what was with Silver Moon Tribe to Fade, so the two of them were leaning in closer than usual.
It was to the extent that Fedellysia's sideways movement of tilting her head seemed as though she was leaning on Fade's shoulder.
Camden's face darkened at the sight of that.
After all, in his opinion, Fedellysia was destined to be his woman.
Right then, there was another man who acted all intimately with his woman. He would never allow such a thing to happen.
