Married a Secret Billionaire

Chapter 1940

Chapter 1940

The surreal sensation made Persephone feel like she was floating in the clouds. She felt a bit shy but couldn’t bring herself to refuse.

Morpheus’ kiss was intense and fervent as if he wanted to pour all his passion into that one kiss. He wished to transform that moment into eternity.

“I like you,” he murmured against her lips, his voice husky. “Sephy, don’t leave me…”

Persephone instinctively nodded along. She was engulfed in heat, every cell in her body ablaze, every inch of her skin ignited by him. –

At night, Morpheus found himself on that battlefield again in his dreams.

It was a scene of devastation, bloodshed everywhere, much like the fight with Louis in the ring today. He trod upon the bloodstains and gradually moved forward, even doubting if this was a dream or reality.

He kept calling out those names, those who had fought alongside him, yet they all turned into wisps of smoke, fleeting past him.

“You’ll never find them!” Suddenly, a deep voice echoed from above.

Morpheus was startled, looking around, only to gradually make out a figure in the mist.

“Morpheus, do you want to kill me again?”

Morpheus stood there, stunned. He felt as though someone was stripping his bones and tendons away.

Patricide was probably the most agonizing thing in this world. He was supposed to share blood ties with this man, yet he had to aim a gun at him.

Morpheus’ lips quivered. After a while, he finally uttered that word, “Father…”

At the prime of his life, he had never thought he would confront his biological father on a battlefield.

His father stared at him with an icy expression, a cryptic smile playing on his lips.

“If you kill me, you lose everything. You won’t get anything, including that girl!” Morpheus widened his eyes, and his breathing became difficult.

“You’re an extreme and fragile person. A single war has defeated you! You’d rather fight in underground matches than to return to Southeast Aciatic and face everything! What right do you have to be with that girl? Can you make her happy?”

Morpheus desperately shook his head, wanting to argue but unable to utter a single word. “You’re not capable of making her happy!

“She’s a noble swan, and you’re a dog stuck in the mud!

“If you’re with her, she’ll be miserably dragged down by you!”Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updates…

“No!” Morpheus roared, abruptly waking up from the dream, covered in cold sweat.

The clock struck precisely at that moment, the hands pointing at 4:00 a.m.—the darkest hour before dawn. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Morpheus composed himself and splashed cold water on his face in the bathroom. The icy sensation couldn’t dissipate the heat and restlessness within him. After a long while, he managed to calm himself down.

He walked out and looked at Persephone. She was sound asleep on the couch. He went over to tuck the blanket around her properly. Her feet would always kick around whenever she slept, and her sleeping posture was never graceful.

Morpheus chuckled softly, his bandaged hand lightly brushing her hair. She moved a bit, seemingly dreaming something joyful.

Yet, a tender spot in his heart ached intensely.

Yes, with all his secrets, what did he have to make her happy?

Although he didn’t know much about her background, he could tell she was a girl who had been well- protected since childhood. She should be looking for a partner like Seamus, not someone like him…

Morpheus’ nose tingled. He gently kissed her forehead and picked up his phone to send a message.

This time, he would personally escort her away from this place.
