Chapter 619 What is the Plan
Chapter 619 What is the Plan
Yanis got confidence after having Alice’s answer and she got spirit.
For the first time, she found that Alice unexpectedly could do it, so she could not help but say, “Alice,
you are awesome, I think you can be a feeling mentor.”
Hearing that, Alice gave a bitter smile. How could she be a feeling mentor? She could not even sort out
her own feelings.
However her words with Yanis were unexpected.
She cast her eyes down at the papers on the desk. Did she want to see Kennedy now?
It seemed so.
So should she follow her heart and call him?
During this period of time, he always took the initiative to appear by her side. Now he went abroad and
did not call her. It was probably because he promised not to look for her that he did not inform her?
It might well be so.
At that thought, Alice unconsciously took out her phone and wanted to text him, but she stopped.
Would it be less reserved to text him now?
After all, all this time, she never made the first move.
At this thought, Alice sighed and put the phone back on the table, and then began to deal with her
work.
A Busy day ended. When it was time to get off work, Alice picked up things and was ready to pick up
Jack from school.
However, her phone rang before she walked out the door.
It was a strange number.
Alice twisted her eyebrow, and then answered the phone.
“Hello?”
“Mommy!”
“Jack?” Hearing Jack's voice, Alice wrinkled her eyebrow with doubts, “Whose phone is it?”
“Mommy, it's Uncle Manfred.”
Uncle Manfred?
Hearing that, Alice froze and had a bad foreboding, “What, what do you mean? Who is Uncle
Manfred?”
A figure emerged automatically in her mind, Alice suddenly felt nervous.
There came noise from the phone, as if the phone was transferred to another person's hand. And then
Alice heard a familiar male voice, lukewarm with a touch of indifference. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“Alice, it's me.”
Manfred Moore!!
Alice bit her lower lip and shouted angrily. “What do you want, Manfred??”
Questioning, Alice ran outside without hesitation.
Yanis saw that and shouted toward her, “Alice, where are you going? Wait for me.”
But Alice seemed not to hear her words, Yanis was helpless and could only stomp.
Forget it. She would ask Alice what happened when she get home tonight.
She now needed to go the Nelson’s Group first, she was gonna to see him!
Alice rushed to the parking lot, opened the door, sat down and then said to Manfred.
“Just tell me what you want. Where is the Jack now?”
After that brief period of silence, Alice was flustered, “Manfred? Say something.”
Then the other end sighed.
“I was really worried that you would always call me Mr. Manfred. I did not expect you call me by my
name so soon... I was just passing by the school and saw Jack standing at the gate, so I picked him up
and went back home.”
“Home?” Alice narrowed her eyes.
“Mommy, Uncle Manfred and I are in the cake shop near the community downstairs.”
Alice, “... I know, I'll be right over. Don't run around. If you need help, ask the shop owner for help.
The last sentence was a hint that if Manfred did anything to Jack, she would not spare him.
Finally, Alice hung up the phone and turned the car around.
She was just avoiding the rush hour and there were not many cars on the road, so she drove fast, but
took some time waiting for the traffic lights.
Alice had been anxious all the way, she wished she could instantly move to Jack, and put him into her
arms and stay away from Manfred.
Manfred...
She really did not understand this man.
Last time they met at the supermarket, he said he lived nearby, and told her to investigate if she did not
believe that.
What should she investigate?
If he did show up on purpose, he must have prepared everything she could find out, and even if she
investigated him, she would not get to know the truth.
So she didn't bother to find out what was going on with him.
But she did not expect that he was now even close to Jack in addition to have cooperation with her
company.
What on earth did he want? What was his intentions?
Alice came to the cake shop door.
Without thinking, she pulled out her car keys, slammed the door and ran straight into the shop.
She pushed open the glass door and shouted directly, “Jack.”
“Mommy, I'm here.”
There was a seat in the cake shop. Alice looked toward the source of the sound. She saw Jack sitting
in one of the stalls, with a fruitcake in front of him. He waved at her, with white cream smeared on his
lips.
Seeing Jack, Alice was nervous and walked quickly to him.
“You are here.”
A warm voice sounded.
Alice remembered Manfred was with her.
Alice was angry with him, but in front of Jack, she had to hold back her anger.
Ignoring Manfred, she went and sat down in front of Jack, took out tissue and gently wiped the cream
stains from his mouth and smiled.
“Is the fruitcake good?”
Jack nodded innocently, “Yes, Mommy.”
“Good.” Alice reached out and rubbed his head. “When are you going to finish?” she whispered.
“There is much of it.”
Jack pointed to the fruitcake in front of him. Alice took a look and found there was really many of it. She
quietly said, “Take this fruit cake and eat in the car. I want to talk with Uncle Manfred, ok?”
Jack blinked and asked innocently, “What are you going to say?”
Alice gently pinched his cheek, “It is about business cooperation. You won’t understand, so... Go to the
car and wait for Mommy for two minutes, okay?”
Jack thought for a while and then nodded.
“Okay, Mommy.”
He got up and bowed to Manfred, “Thank you, Uncle Manfred, for driving me home today and for the
fruitcake, but I'm going to wait in the car for Mommy.”
