Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 136
Diana's POV
"We have limited time".
I was talking to one of the guards from the Sunclad pack. Yes, in fact it was their chief guard. When Omar said that he can get me a spy, who could get us easy access to the Sunclad pack, I had thought that he was just bluffing. To me there's nothing Omar could do right. Moreover, I didn't think there would be anyone that would want to betray their mighty Alpha.
But then, he shocked me, when he brought someone to me and the werewolf was even their chief guard. This was as if I won a trophy.
"I never liked that girl," the chief guard said.
I raised my brow looking at him. Even though his face looks like he was truly disgusted, I now know his real motive for doing this. This man is one of the people that Sunclad trusted, so for him to do this, there surely must be something he wants.
Sam is also said to be a peaceful one even though Allison calmed she's pretending, I've heard over ten people say it. How then did she make an enemy with the chief guard of all people. "Why?"
I was watching him closely.
"She caused too much of a problem in the pack. It's as if she charmed the Alpha. I don't think she deserves everything she's getting" he said blankly.
"Yes she isn't," Omar agreed.
I looked at him. If not for my own plans, I would have just let them be but I needed this to survive. To me, Sam is a hundred times better than Omar's arrogant daughter. She doesn't even deserve the Gemma title that she wears.
"I even heard that as a wedding gift, the Alpha split his wealth into two and gave her one. I don't know why the Alpha will do that. That girl is like a swan that doesn't know the value of wealth. She would squander it".
His voice was as if he was complaining to us. I don't know why he was bitter about this. It's not that his Alpha not splitting his wealth will give him (the chief guard) more money. I didn't say anything.
"And again sir, the shares from the quarry and mine that were supposed to be given to your family, he gave it to her poor useless parents. Isn't that too much?"
Omar's eyes twitched when he heard that there's a portion that should be given to him and has been given to another. I could see the anger in his face. It was as if he was going to blow any moment from now. That male is just too greedy. Seeing him angry, that stupid chief guard didn't even stop talking.
"Her father doesn't even have any usefulness to the pack aside from being an assistant doctor. What about us that we are risking our lives for the pack? We only got stipend".
I chuckled at him. At least they got it when Jaylen is still there. I'll make sure I didn't give them a dime because it's none of their rights.
"All will soon be over" I said calmly.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Yes ma'am" he nodded.
"You just make sure you do your job well and we would generously reward you" Omar said.
The guard nodded happily. I threw bag silvers at him. He took the money and checked it. Seeing that I paid him in silver not in paper currency, he grinned.
"Thank you ma'am. Thank you" he bowed repeatedly.
"Take..."
I then threw another thing to him which he caught quickly. He was examining the little jar intensively.
"What's this?" He asked.
"Be careful with that with you" I said when I saw that he wanted to open it to see the content. How dull of him. Shouldn't he first find out what it is before trying to open it? Everything about this man started to irritate me. He talks too much and he's very dull. "What I gave you is to be added into your Alpha and his mate's food or drink" I instructed.
With the way he was scrutinising the jar and its content, I know he sure has something to ask or ask.
"But the content in there is blue. What if the colour shows in the food or drink? That would surely get us in trouble."
"Don't worry it won't show. If it's applied, it would turn colourless and odourless" I said.
"Is it magical?" He asked with excitement.
This guy has to be kidding me. If not that he seems to be the only one we got for now, I would have sucked his blood dry. He is frustrating me with his questions.
"No. It's just made from the leaves that have the same features as it".
I'm trying hard to be calm. I looked at Omar but then he seemed to be lost in thought and not listening to our conversation. I didn't even bother to know what he was thinking about. "Oh."
The idiot said, nodding his head.
"So sorry ma'am, but why can't you just use your magic to change the Alpha's mind to yourself. That would be much easier than using herbs to control it".
This male seems to be trying my patience. I wouldn't be surprised, it's Omar that brought him. He has never for once brought a person that wouldn't frustrate me.
"Magic doesn't work on your Alpha" I decided to calm myself and answer him.
I didn't want a situation where he would go look for another witch and then ruiny plan.
"How?" He frowned with a confused look.
I don't blame him for getting confused at my words, since there are few legends on earth that hers mine to magic. But then I'm angry at his stupid non-stop questions. It is getting me irated.
"I don't know. Just do what I told you to do" I said between gritted teeth.
If he's one that does read the handwriting on the wall, he would have known that his frequent questions were getting me vexed. Well I think he did because he didn't ask more questions. He just nodded his head.
"And remember, it's just a pinch per meal. It's either you put it in the drink or in the food. You can't put it in the two at the same time. I repeat, pinch" I said firmly. "I don't want to hear of any mistakes," I added. "I have a question ma'am......"
I looked at him blankly. I didn't tell him to ask nor did I tell him not to ask. But as he is, he asked anyway.
"What if it's an accident, and too much was added unintentionally".
I gave him a stiff smile.
"Just go and dig your grave!"
No need to tell me that my voice and look was so cold. It even scared the chief guard that he shifted and felt restless where he sat. Omar had said that he'll (the chief guard) will be more useful to us. I didn't know why I believed that. Now I'm having serious doubts.
