Mistake with the Alpha

Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 148

Jaylen's POV

Kira nodded.

"Then let's get on with it," I said.

At least with this, I'll be rest assured that if anything is going to happen to my mate, I'll be the first to know.

Kira took the globe and threw it into a very large bowl filled with liquid. The liquid isn't that clear so I won't call it water. I didn't know if alcohol can be used to purify either. I just watched as she did her thing. The globe was boiling inside the large bowl. When the boiling stopped, she removed it and gave it to me. The globe was shining as if it was bleached.

"It's all cleaned Alpha" she said.

"Thank you Kira".

I then stood up and started to leave. I was almost at the door when Kira's call stopped me.

"Alpha" she called in her old voice.

I stopped and looked at her, wondering what she's got to say. She hesitated a bit before she spoke.

"The world's fate is left in your hands" she said softly.

I understood what she said and I nodded. If anyone gets hold of Sam's heart, such a person will destroy and suffer all the universe. So me guarding Sam, is what she's talking about. I was out of Kira's temple already. The globe I held feels lighter than when I held it. Now I know that the vampire king didn't intend that I'll be the only one to know. I'm not so dull, he should have known that. I don't care if he has good intentions or not. If he had truly wanted to help, he would have asked permission from me first.

As I was about to enter my car, I saw a familiar figure seated outside.

"Isn't this Drey?" I asked myself.

"He should be," Hort replied.

I then decided to move closer so as to confirm what I saw. Lonand behold, it was truly drey. i wondered what he was doing seated here beside Kira's temple. "What are you doing here?" I asked him.

He looked up at me and his look showed that he wasn't surprised to see if.

"I didn't know that I'll later be noticed by you" he said casually

"You saw me when I came in?" I asked.

I didn't expect to see anyone when I arrived, talk more of me seeing Drey. Well I didn't look through. I was just focused on what I wanted to do there. "Yes I did," he replied.

"Why are you here?"

I know it's not possible for him to say he came to see Kira. think so low of a normal wolf's priestess. Some even think them to be useless and dull.

"There's so much peace radiating in this place. I love it here. It's better than the noisy pack house. This is my usual serene spot" he replied.

Ever since he has been speaking to me, I've noticed that something was wrong with the ever lively Alpha.

"Is everything alright?" I asked him.

"I'm fine," he said casually.

He's an Alpha, so it's normal for him to hide his pain and trouble. Even though we aren't friends, he has helped me a lot of times and if I care about him now, it's not a bad thing at all. "Are you sure? You don't look fine" I said.

Drey looked at me and chuckled.

"Don't give me that look, it's not your thing" he mocked me.

"And what is that supposed to do to me?"

Is he insinuating that I'm not a caring type?

"The only person you know how to watch out for is none else but your mate..."

"Don't be ridiculous Alpha. I care about my people too. I'd not I wouldn't run a perfect pack" I said with pride.

Drey rolled his eyes. " And that too".

"Don't be such an ingrate. I'm trying to extend my caring attitude that you don't know to you" I said blankly.

"Tsk" he chuckled." It's not as if we are friends. Why then would you care?" He asked.

I didn't know why he was like this. I'm just trying to know what's going on with him. Since he's on my land.

"We might not be friends but then you've helped me so many times without me even knowing. It's not bad to reciprocate".

"I don't need it, Alpha. Sam is a good woman. I did it for her" he replied. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

"Well too bad she's my mate. So you've equally done it for me" I glared at him.

"Do you think if I found Sam before you, I wouldn't have made her my mate?" He said blankly.

Finally the real Drey came with his annoying self.

"At last you succeeded in annoying me" I said sternly.

"The truth is always so annoying," he said.

I shook my head at him and was about to leave.

"I miss home" he said at my back.

I turned and looked at him. That's a very lame excuse from him. Even if it's a pup that he said this to, he'll never believe him. It's not as if anyone is holding him down to this place. Nothing is stopping him from going. If he truly missed home he would have just carried himself and left for home. "Hold up! I was even there when Brock was leaving and he was asked if he also was going to join them but he said he liked it here, he didn't want to go now. So missing home is definitely not the reason he is moody. I understand that he didn't want to tell me. He is a male after all. We always love to keep things to ourselves. I won't force him to tell me either.

"Isn't that a signal globe?" He asked, looking at the globe that I held.

I looked at my hand as if to check if it's truly it.

"You know it?"

He then nodded. This made me wonder, what do I ever know? Everyone seems to know what I don't know. Isn't that so shameful of me? I felt so useless at the thought.

"Don't be too hard on yourself Alpha. Only a few people know what a signal globe is. Even so, I was just opportune to see it just once. I don't even know how it works," he said.
