Bailey's pov
"So let me get this straight. Out of everyone, you have to tutor Juliet the witch?" Mira snorted, leaning between the driver seat and passenger seat and twisted her head slightly to look at me.
I nod. "Yes. I'll earn some extra credit for college and God knows how much I need to get into that university."
Mira's brows furrowed. "Speaking about that, which one are you aiming to get into? I can't make up my mind."
"Harvard University."
Suddenly the car swerves a bit and Kaleb mumbles an apology. I looked at him confused and noticed the deadly grip he had on the poor steering wheel.
"What the hell Kaleb?!" Mira hissed as she had ended up bumping her head on the seat.
"Sorry. I got distracted."
"By what? Bailey's response? Is lover boy scared to do long distance?" Mira teased which caused Kaleb to spare her a brief glare. She laughed but I didn't find it amusing as I now realize that Kaleb and I never talked about college and what it could mean for the future of us.
"What college are you applying for?" I asked him faintly.
"Yale." Was his response and I saw his jaw clench. "I got a chance for a scholarship there."
My heart raced. We wouldn't be an entire continent away from each other but we would still be apart. As our eyes met before he brought his attention back to the road, he promised me that we
will make things work...and I believed him.

"Hey Aile," Lilian said as she entered my room, yawning. Her eyes are tired and there are visible bags under them. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
"What's wrong?" I scooted and patted an empty spot beside me so she could sit. I helped her up.
"I'm just tired. Had a bad dream during my evening nap."
I looked at her with concern. I knew my sister well enough to know when she was not herself. And she wasn't.
"Want to talk about it?" I whispered, shifting closer to her and hugging her little body. She lifted a shoulder in a shrug.
"It's just a dream," she smiled faintly to reassure me. "Can we watch a movie?"
I nodded quickly, anything to keep her mind off whatever troubled her in her sleep.
As I put on the Tv and scrolled through N*****x, Lilian picked a Barbie movie for us to watch. I made no complaints and watched it with her.
However as time quickly went on I forgot that I had a tutoring appointment with Juliet until a soft knock sounds at my door.
"Come in."
As the door pushed open faintly, I looked over and I am surprised to see Juliet. "Oh!" I yelped, sitting up and startling a tired Lilian.
"I'm sorry Juliet. I forgot about our appointment." I apologized quickly, eyeing the books in her hands that indicated that she came here for me to tutor her.
She smiled awkwardly. "It's fine. Your mom let me in by the way. I knew your injured foot still hurt so I decided to come over to your house instead."
I nod and Lilian shifted, rubbing her eyes. "Who's this Aile?"
"Uhm Juliet. She's a classmate of mine." I replied to my sister who was already getting off the bed. I paused the Barbie movie and smiled at her apologetically. "Raincheck?"
Lilian nodded, grinning from ear to ear. "Yes! Maybe Bash will join us for the next movie. I'm sure he'll love Barbie."
I cringed. I highly doubt our older brother would like Barbie movies however for Lilian he'd suffer through it for her.
"Bash isn't coming home yet. But we will see."
She pouted, whined about Bash always being busy studying and left soon after.
I looked at Juliet who still stood behind the door. "Aren't you coming in?"
She nod, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry didn't want to just enter without permission."
"It's fine." I got off the bed and made my way over to my desk. Tomorrow Kristina, Mira and I would be having our own study session at Mira's place.
"You can have a seat on the bed, or do you prefer here?" I tapped my finger on the chair I usually sat in to do my work.
"Anywhere is fine." She grinned and sat on my bed. I took the books we needed to study and walked across my room toward the bed.
"Do you have problems with one subject or more? And if so, which one do you find most difficult?" I questioned as I sat down in my bed, awkwardly spreading out the books.
It's weird having Juliet in my room, especially when too not long ago we were nothing but enemies. Now having her here, was odd.
"Hey before we start," Juliet started, looking at me with a small smile. "Can you get me a cup of water please? I forgot my bottle and my throat is so parched."
Seeing as she was my guest, I thought it was better for me to be polite and get her what she wanted....even though I was still limping terribly.
I nodded, moving off the bed and telling her I'd be back. As I entered the kitchen mom is just baking up an apple crumble.
I opened the fridge and take out a bottle of water. "Hey baby," mom tries to get my attention.
"Hmm?" I turn to her.
"That girl," mom brows are furrowed as she stirs the apple in the pan. "Is she a friend of yours?"
Juliet a friend?
Even though we were not as hostile as we were before, that didn't mean I considered her a friend or a potential friend.
"No," I answered honestly. " she's a classmate I am to help tutor to earn more points for college."
Mom nodded. "Good." Her voice lowered. "Because she kind of gives me the creeps. I hate how so sweet she was. It seemed so fake and forced."
I frowned. "Should I make up an excuse for her to leave?"
If mom wasn't comfortable with Juliet here then I'll get rid of her. No extra points comes before the comfort of my family.
"No that's not necessary," she smiled reassuringly. "Just have fun tutoring okay?"
Uncertain, I nod and mom gave me one more reassuring smile before I returned to my room. However as I stepped foot into my room, I noted that the air seemed more tense and that Juliet was breathing a bit more hasty.
I became confused when she got up and made an excuse to leave. "Uh I'm not feeling well so I'll just go home. Reschedule?"
She didn't wait for my reply and left me staring at her back, mind raking with questions.
