My Fabulous Wife

Chapter 21

Chapter 21

But I know how to fight North suburb of Colette Town.

A nursing home even without a name.

But it had just been ranked as one of the top nursing homes by the World Medical Organization in the first half of this year, with one month's cost amounting to an astronomical number: ten million.

There was a florist's in front of it.

18,000 only for a little cactus.

Looking at the little cactus as large as her palm, Annette tilted her head.

This little gadget did cost something.

She lifted her eyebrows, walking into the nursing home at a steady pace, with one hand in the jacket's pocket.

It was an idyllic place. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Everyone residing there owned his or her own bamboo house which lined up around the whole place in an artistic way.

Gardens of flowers and vegetables, fences with roses and small paths of cobblestones — all were creating a relaxing environment which maintained the otherworldly landscape while harnessing modern technology.

People with newly-picked vegetables and fresh meat went through it occasionally.

They were staff there in preparation for the breakfast.

"Miss, you've come to visit Lorraine."

The cook, an old lady, greeted her with smile.

Taking off her cap and mussing her hair, Annette replied her.

The morning sunlight rendered her even more fair.

Her extremely beautiful face would make people forget to breathe.

For a moment the cook just paused there.

There then came Annette’s cold silvery voice.

"Has Lorraine got up?" She asked.

The cook then came to her sense.

"Yes, yes, she may probably be watering her plants in the garden now."

Annette thanked her with courtesy and headed toward the garden.

Staring at the direction of Annette, the cook couldn't help muttering, "So cute a girl!"

In the garden.

A girl in a cyan fluffy coat was watering the flowers, squatting in front of a small bush.

Looking at her from afar, Annette beamed.

"Lorraine."

Lorraine seemed to freeze for a second and then turned round, just to find Annette in surprise. Her eyes dilating out of joy, she dropped the spoon and ran toward Annette.

"Annette, there you are!"

"Yeah."

Annette passed her the little cactus.

With her eyes shining with delight, Lorraine just couldn't see this little plant enough.

Each time Annette came, she would bring a plant which was easy to cultivate, such as succulents.

They were easy to cultivate because of their tenaciousness toward life.

Holding Annette’s arm, Lorraine suggested with joy, "Annette, let's get inside."

"Sure." Annette agreed.

The quaint internal design in her bamboo house would help the most anxious person in the world calm down.

Lorraine dug out all her snacks, say, dried fruit.

"Annette, these are all made from the mango and strawberry I plant.Super tasty! I've added tons of sugar.I bet you will be crazy about them."

Staring at this girl in front of her, Annette went a little absent minded. It seemed that the vigor of life, which had been absent for long, now resumed its place in this Lorraine girl’s eyes.

Her recuperation seemed to be going well.

Annette picked a piece of dried mango slice and had a taste.

Yummy! Sweet but not unpleasantly cloying, it still contained the fragrance of fruit.

Lorraine started eating too, but her downcast eyes seemed to indicate some unspoken words.

Annette gave her a glance, rested her white arm on the table to support her chin idly, and said slowly, "Just speak freely."

Lorraine smile embarrassedly, "You can detect everything."

Annette raised her eyebrows.

"I just wanna say, I can't stay here forever."

Lorraine seemed to mean it.

"I’m much better now, so I can go out to earn my living with you. It’s said to cost a lot here."

"With me?’ With a mango slice between her fingers, Annette adopted a new position to sit.

She crossed her legs idly and asked with her thin lips, "How do you earn your living when you are not even 18?"

Lorraine retorted blankly, "Nor are you."

"But I know how to fight." Annette replied casually.
