Chapter 45 Bold Claims
Initially stunned, Daniel laughed out loud at Christopher’s proclamation as if it was the funniest thing he
had ever heard.
It takes a certain amount of crazy for a recently retired soldier without power to dare claim that
Centurion Corporation belongs to him.
Though Daniel was inwardly ecstatic, an angry expression appeared on his face as he shouted, “Are
you hearing this, Ms. Clark? This man must be insane to make such bold claims! I suggest canceling
the contract immediately and having security throw him out.”
Daniel then turned toward Amanda after speaking, eagerly waiting for her verdict.
That’s it. Christopher has finally gone too far. He must have a death wish for first refusing to sign the
contract and provoking the authority of Centurion Corporation. Now, he’s even claiming to be the
chairman of Centurion Corporation. This is a godsent opportunity!
Amanda could not resist chuckling and shooting a sympathetic look at Daniel. The poor fool has no
idea that the chairman of Centurion Corporation himself is sitting before him and refuses to believe it
despite Mr. Yaeger even saying as much. I can only imagine the misery Daniel is going to endure soon.
Daniel, however, sensed something in Amanda’s strange expression. “What’s the matter, Ms. Clark?”
he asked instinctively.
Amanda merely smiled lightly as she watched Daniel. Since Christopher had revealed his identity, there
was no more need for her to hide it. “You can’t very well stop a man in denial from digging his own
grave, can you?” she mused.
Under the impression that she was referring to Christopher, Daniel chuckled. “Did you hear that, punk?”
he crowed. “Ms. Clark thinks you’re in big trouble!”
“I’m talking about you, Daniel!” Amanda snapped scornfully, rendering him momentarily stunned.
In what way am I in big trouble?
A second later, his mouth fell open in horror when Amanda turned respectfully to Christopher. “Please All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
don’t hold a grudge against somebody as insignificant as him, Mr. Yaeger. You’re the boss, after all.”
“B-Boss?” he stammered in a daze.
As the realization sank in, Daniel began trembling uncontrollably. Feeling as if he had been
electrocuted, he numbly struggled to comprehend the enormity of the revelation. She just called him
“boss.” He was telling the truth!
Despite Jared’s conviction that he was a piece of trash, Christopher turned out to be the chairman of
Centurion Corporation.
And there Daniel was, insulting his own employer.
I’ve been digging my own grave, all right.
“How is this possible?” he cried in a panic, not expecting the downtrodden-looking youngster seated
before him to be the chairman of Centurion Corporation.
Daniel’s arrogance vanished entirely. A horrible sense of foreboding took its place and drenched his
back in sweat.
Only then did he finally understand Amanda’s choosing of the shell company and Christopher’s
amusement when he threw the proposal into the trash can.
He is the chairman of Centurion Corporation—my employer! What awful luck to have insulted the
chairman in person and thrown his proposal into the trash right in his face! What’s wrong with me?
“I-I’m sorry, Mr. Yaeger. I didn’t know who you were. P-Please forgive me!”
Having been in the business for a long time, Daniel was no stranger to theatrics. Within seconds, his
tears fell unrestrainedly through sheer force of will.
