Chapter 56
Chapter 56
Chapter 56 Not A Fever When Simon turned around, he saw Christopher staring at the boy, and that infuriated the former. He
shouted, “What are you looking at? Do you not see that we have a patient here? Get me the silver
needles and the ice packs now!”
“I’ll go get them,” offered Shirley. She understood that Christopher had just shown up, so he had no
idea where everything was. She didn’t want him to delay the kid’s treatment, so she quickly gathered
everything.
“Seriously, what is the point of having you around?” dissed Simon. He was already jealous, so that was
the perfect opportunity for him to vent a little.
It didn’t take long before Shirley returned with everything they needed. Simon put the ice pack on the
kid’s head to lower his temperature, then he administered the treatment using the silver needles.
“Don’t worry, he should feel better in two minutes,” informed Simon confidently.
At the end of the day, he was a graduate of a renowned university, so he trusted his own skills. A minor
issue like this is nothing at all.
“Thank you, doctor,” replied the young couple.
Unfortunately, the boy didn’t get better after two minutes. His condition worsened instead, and he was
in so much pain that he was on the verge of crying. His parents panicked instantly. The father grabbed
Simon’s arm and demanded, “What is going on? Didn’t you say he’ll feel better after two minutes? Why
are things worse?”
“This shouldn’t happen. Shirley, get me some alcohol to further lower the kid’s temperature,” ordered
Simon. He had become nervous too, so he spoke in a harsh tone.
Shirley was on edge as well. Please don’t let the kid’s condition become worse inside Boleite Medical
Clinic. If he does, our reputation will be ruined.
“No, you can’t do that. This is not a fever, and his condition will worsen if you force his temperature to
go down.”
Christopher stopped Shirley before she could use the alcohol to lower the kid’s temperature.
He was recognized by the Chanaea TEM Association and was the Medical Genius of Chanaea, so
naturally, he knew exactly what was wrong with the kid.
“What are you talking about? Do you know anything about medicine at all? No? Then get out of here,”
growled Simon. He was infuriated to hear Christopher talking.
“It doesn’t matter if I am a medical expert. The point is that this is not a fever. I need to know
something. When you left the underground shopping mall earlier, did you feel a breeze so cold that it
could get even an adult to tremble?”
Christopher had completely ignored Simon because the most urgent matter at hand was to save the
kid.
“We did. We felt something cold, and it was as if someone had suddenly turned on the air conditioner,”
answered the young couple quickly.
“Then, I know what the problem is. I’ll need the silver needles,” said Christopher.
“I-Is he a doctor?” asked the mother softly.
“Him? He is just a soldier who was recently discharged, so how can he possibly be a doctor? If you let Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
him treat the kid, then you will have killed your son right here and now,” answered Simon after he
sneered.
The young couple lost all trust in Christopher after hearing what Simon said. Their reaction was
understandable since it didn’t make sense for a soldier to know anything about medicine.
“We don’t need you around, Christopher. My gosh, why are you acting like an expert when you know
nothing? We’re trying to save a life here! Get your butt inside already,” scolded Shirley. She was fuming
a little because she didn’t expect Christopher to make a mess at a crucial time like that.
After scolding him, Shirley forced the guy to go inside and handed Simon the alcohol. Simon
disinfected the right acupuncture points, then used two silver needles to administer the treatment. He
grinned and promised, “This time, everything will definitely be fine.”
Unfortunately, the boy trembled endlessly at the very next second. It looked as though he was having a
stroke, and his eyes looked eerie. He was obviously in pain. That frightened Simon and Shirley. The
kid’s father panicked immediately and threatened, “What kind of f*cking doctor are you? If anything
were to happen to my son, I will kill you!”
Simon was scared out of his mind because he had never encountered something like that before.
To make matters worse, the kid’s condition had worsened, and it was likely too late to get him to a
hospital.
Shirley was scared as well. If anything bad were to happen, Boleite Medical Clinic’s reputation would
be tarnished. No one would drop by again because someone died under their care.
“Move aside,” instructed Christopher calmly.
