My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 188

A boyfriend from the Hughes family?

The driver made it sound like Willow had a great bargain, which offended her.

What's so great about a man from the Hughes family?

"Of course not. Who could charm them so easily?" she answered.

"That's true. There's no chance for an ordinary woman to marry into the Hughes family. They'll only accept women from families who are on par with them. Ordinary women who catch their eye are usually only playthings." The driver laughed.

The words pierced through Willow's heart.

Even an outsider could see that it was impossible for an ordinary woman to marry into the Hughes family. Willow was naive to think that Jasper wanted to marry her just because he said he would take responsibility.

She had thought that she could influence Jasper to like the kids and give them a complete family. Alas, she was too simple-minded to play the game of the rich.

Willow scoffed at herself. "I know right."

"What were you doing there, Miss?" The driver was curious.

He knew at a glance that Willow was not someone rich. He noticed that she had walked down the mountain with broken heels.

If she were rich, she would either drive or call a driver to pick her up.

"I was there to enjoy the scenery," Willow said sarcastically.

"Yeah, wearing an evening gown to enjoy the scenery." The driver

An hour later, Willow reached home, where Lara was waiting for her.

Willow was wearing a mermaid dress that she had never seen before, and her heels were broken. This made her look like a woman who had been abandoned by the rich.

Lara's heart tightened when she saw Willow's condition.

She grabbed her shoulders and asked worriedly, "Wills, where were you last night? Why are you wearing this? What happened to your feet?"

Willow was heartbroken. She had been holding everything in her heart all the way.

She got teary when she heard Lara's concern.

"Mom..." She hugged Lara and sniffled.

She never expected it to be so upsetting.

She'd been optimistic when she was looked down upon at work. She was proud that she earned money through her hard work.

She'd always retorted to those who mocked her.
