Chapter 2090
Sheldon did not know what had happened either.
He'd said that Preslie was overthinking things, and Yesseca was definitely still on good terms with Tremaine. He asked Preslie not to worry too much. Therefore, Preslie had not thought further for the time being.
But now...
Since she finished work early, Preslie did not go to bed. Instead, she went to Quartley Palace. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
However, when she arrived at the Quartley Palace and asked the soldiers, she learned that Yesseca was no longer in the Quartley Palace.
Preslie was stunned.
What?
Yesseca was no longer at Quartley Palace?
Preslie asked the soldiers immediately about what happened.
The soldier knew Preslie. Knowing that Preslie was Yesseca's good friend and that Preslie was working at the President's Office, he explained what had happened.
The soldier said that Yesseca had been expelled from Nashaland by His Excellency.
When Preslie heard this, she was completely taken aback.
After a while, she came back to her senses.
She shouted, "What's going on? How could Yesseca be expelled from Nashaland? What happened?"
The soldier was shocked by Preslie's tone.
He immediately said, "Miss Fernandez, keep your voice down. I told you this because you were concerned, but please don't be so loud."
Preslie lowered her voice but still clenched her fists. "I've lowered my voice. Tell me what happened."
The soldier was not sure either.
He said, "I don't know the details. Anyway, a man came to look for Miss Cowell. His Excellency was angry so he expelled her from Nashaland."
Preslie's head was buzzing.
She said, "When did this happen?"
"About a week ago or so," said the soldier.
Preslie was even more confused.
More than a week?
That was the exact time when she'd started not being able to get through to Yesseca's phone!
She was not aware of this because she had been too busy with the restructuring. She was only made aware of it now!
Preslie went home as fast as she could.
Sheldon was asleep.
Sheldon had been very busy since the work at the President's office increased.
He often accompanied Tremaine to deal with the work until two or three o'clock in the morning, and then he came to work at eight o'clock in the morning. Although Sheldon was strong, he could not take it. The first thing he would do when he got home was sleep.
While he was asleep, he heard a loud banging sound.
This woke him up.
Sheldon thought he was hallucinating and was about to continue sleeping when he heard a loud noise again.
It seemed to be coming from the door.
Sheldon got out of bed in a daze and noticed Preslie.
"Mr. Hawls, His Excellency," Preslie said this and began shouting. She turned away and ran.
Sheldon was shocked.
He was confused.
What was going on?
Why had she run away in a flash?
Sheldon scratched his head. Was he hallucinating because he was too sleepy?
Did no one knock on the door? Had Preslie not been there? Perhaps everything was just an illusion...
Just as Sheldon was about to turn around and return to bed to continue his sleep, his gaze suddenly swept across... His blood froze.
Sheldon knew that it was not an illusion.
He knew why Preslie had run.
Because of his pants.
When he slept, he wore a pair of shorts, which was the knee-high type.
Because he had been busy for days, he had lost weight.
The moment he got out of bed, his pants had slipped down...
It was at the position where it should not be.
Everything could be seen.
Normally Sheldon would have
1
noticed it, but he had been too sleepy when he opened the door. However, Preslie was at the door and noticed.
Sheldon blushed.
His drowsiness was gone.
Preslie ran into the bathroom and washed her eyes.
"I'll have a stye!" she kept repeating.
She was about to cry.
How could...
How could Mr. Hawls' pants slip down by that much?
And she even saw everything.
She really wanted to dig a hole and lie in it.
How embarrassing!
It was so embarrassing!
This was definitely the most embarrassing moment she had ever encountered!
Ten minutes later, Preslie came out of the bathroom.
Her eyes were red because of excessive washing.
She hoped to quietly slip away.
But in the end, she still decided to muster the courage to knock on Sheldon's door.
She had to ask him about what had happened between Yesseca and Tremaine.
No matter how embarrassed Preslie felt, for Yesseca, she had to throw caution to the wind!
Preslie came to Sheldon's bedroom.
She raised her hand and knocked on the door with her trembling hand.
After a full minute, the door opened.
Sheldon stood in front of Preslie.
He was wrapped tightly from head to toe, like a woman in confinement. No skin could be seen.
Preslie was shocked.
She felt a strange feeling.
Why was he wrapped up like that?
Did he feel that since she saw him like that, he had been taken advantage of, that was why he was wrapped up like this?
Preslie felt terrible.
Normally speaking, when a woman saw a man like that, wasn't the woman who was the one at a disadvantage?
At least, according to tradition.
But Mr. Hawls behaved as though he was the one who had been taken advantage of, wrapping himself up so tightly.
Or...
Perhaps because Preslie was just
ta
normal looking woman, and not a
beauty if she was a beauty, M Hawls would have thought she was the one at a disadvantage.
With this thought, she became uncomfortable.
Preslie looked at him with eager eyes. "Mr. Hawls, I wanted to ask you about Yesseca and His Excellency."
Sheldon noticed that her eyes were red.
His heart missed a beat.
She must have been crying.
That was what he thought.
He was filled with remorse.
She was a young woman. She had
ne
never been in a relationship, and when she saw something that she
should not have, she must have felt awkward!
She must be sad and embarrassed, so she'd burst into tears.
Sheldon wanted nothing more than to slap himself in the face!
How could he be so careless!
He originally wanted to comfort her, or apologize
to her.
However, this was not something else. How could he apologize for such an awkward matter?
What could he say that would not sound as embarrassing and awkward as the situation had been? There was really no way to explain this matter. It could only be treated as if nothing had happened. Preslie brought up an entirely different matter...
