Chapter 2097
Chapter 2097
"Preslie." Yesseca couldn't help but lean on her friend's shoulder.
What more could she ask for when she had such great friends in life?
"Thank you for accompanying me," muttered Yesseca. "I'm gonna pull myself together. I won't lose my mind and do what I did today again. I will be reborn."
She had completely walked out of the "Tremaine" haze.
"Yesseca," Preslie asked carefully, "Can you tell me what happened?"
Yesseca bit her lip. "Remember that time I asked you to go to the market with me to buy some pork? I made soup for Montez and it turned out to be poisoned. Tremaine didn't believe me when I told him that it wasn't me."
Preslie was alarmed.
She knew about this matter.
Tremaine had asked her before and Yesseca had also told her about it.
However, she did not think much about it.
She felt like it was too ridiculous. Plus, Yesseca had told her nothing about it afterwards, so she figured it was a misunderstanding. Who knew that Yesseca and Tremaine would be separated because of this.
"What happened?" Preslie raised her voice, "There was something actually wrong with the meat? How could it be poisoned?"
Yesseca shook her head. "I don't know, I don't want to think about it anymore. Since he decided that I'm the one who did it, then I'd best forget it. Maybe it'll be a good thing for us once I leave Nashaland and end our relationship."
Preslie's eyes were filled with emotions.
She wanted to say something, but in the end, she did not.
Preslie planned to wait for Sheldon's call the next day to hear what Sheldon had to say about Tremaine before telling Yesseca anything.
She was sure that something wasn't right.
Her gut had a strong hunch that something was strange.
In the President's Mansion of Nashaland.
It might have been because he had been busy these few days, but Sheldon didn't realize that something wasn't quite right about Tremaine.
When he came to work that day, Sheldon noticed that Tremaine looked pale and he seemed to have lost weight.
His usual cold attitude had become even colder. He was like an ice sculpture that had been frozen for years. One couldn't help but feel chilly when walking close to him.
Tremaine was working all morning.
Sheldon didn't dare ask anything and simply accompanied Tremaine to work. It was not until lunch time when Sheldon cautiously said, "Sir, yesterday, Miss Cowell's friend Preslie told me that Miss Cowell seemed to be ill."
Sheldon had planned to warm his way into the topic before fully delving in, but seeing as how Tremaine and Yesseca's relationship had reached to such a point, he guessed that Tremaine probably wouldn't say much if he didn't get straight into it.
Which was why Sheldon decided to be frank.
Tremaine's hands paused midair.
He was dazed for a few seconds before shooting a sharp look at Sheldon, "What do you mean by that!"
Sheldon felt as if his throat was being strangled.
"Sir, I, I..." He was suffocated, unable to utter a complete sentence.
Tremaine put down his cutleries and stood up. He looked down at Sheldon and said, "Don't mention a word about Yesseca in front of me!" Sheldon could only reply, "Yes, Sir."
Tremaine left his meal unfinished and walked away.
Sheldon's forehead was drenched in sweat.
He wiped away the sweat on his forehead as his heart lurched.
It seemed like the conflict between Yesseca and Tremaine had been blown out of proportion. He said Yesseca was ill, but Tremaine had had no reaction to it at all. This...
Yesseca was about to be discharged from the hospital.
Preslie and Kylin went to help Yesseca with the discharging process, but secretly, they were making a call.
As soon as the call was connected,
Sheldon spoke before Preslie could even answer. "Preslie, you better not get involved between them. They seem to be on bad terms with each other, I don't think we can help."
Preslie was stunned.

After a few beats, she stammered, "Did you tell Tremaine that Yesseca was ill and is in a serious condition? Did you tell him how she had changed into a completely different person because she was sick?"
"I tried to tell him that but he didn't want to listen. He even forbade me from mentioning anything about her."
"What?" Preslie's reaction was a little dramatic, and she couldn't help but raise her voice, "How can he be such a jerk? He doesn't care about Yesseca even when she's sick?"
Sheldon sighed.
He said, "He's the president after all,
and he can't be measured by ordinary people. Besides, he really loved Yesseca, even I could see that. I think with the way things have turned out, the problem doesn't just lie on Tremaine."
Sheldon felt like Tremaine still had feelings for Yesseca, she must have done something that made Tremaine turn his back on her and act this heartlessly.
Preslie felt very uncomfortable hearing Sheldon's words.
She said, "Mr. Hawls, how can you say that? Do you mean to tell me that Yesseça's also at fault? What has she done? Yesseca has always been devoted to Tremaine, he's the one who should be taking the
blame!" n
Sheldon didn't want to argue with Preslie.

He said, "Preslie, that's all the updates I have for now. You stay with Yesseca. As for your work in the office, I'll arrange for someone to cover for you."
Sheldon knew that Preslie was Yesseca's best friend.
Now that Yesseca was in such a state, it was impossible for Preslie to walk away in a short period of time.
Preslie was about to ask more about the situation when she noticed someone was behind her.
She looked back subconsciously and froze.
Beep...beep....beep...
Preslie hung up the call instantly.
She smiled dryly at Yesseca, "Yesseca, you're here."
Preslie was praying that Yesseca did not hear her conversation.
It's unfortunate that the heavens never answer to her wishes.
Yesseca had heard everything.
She was there since the moment Preslie called Sheldon.
In other words, Yesseca heard the exchange between them.
Yesseca's face was extremely pale.
Tremaine had heard that she was sick, but he didn't respond at all.
Ha ha.
He was even more heartless than she had thought.
If she was in Tremaine's place and heard that he had fallen ill, she would still care for him despite having an estranged relationship. She wouldn't be
as cold-hearted as Tremaine.
Yesseca's eyes turned red-rimmed.
"Yesseca, are you alright?" Preslie thought to herself.
With the way Yesseca was acting, Preslie knew.
She must have heard everything.
Yesseca took a deep breath.
She suddenly forced a smile and said, "I'm fine. Nothing will happen to me!"
She was the one who'd been stupid to fall in love with him. Tremaine was so heartless. Why couldn't she just walk away from him? She had even been driven to the brink of insanity!
