Chapter 0480
Chapter 0480
Sieg wore a somewhat impatient expression. Lately, his family had brought up the topic of him and Yana again, and he couldn't shake the feeling that Yana's appearance here wasn't a mere coincidence but rather a calculated move.
Before he could articulate his sarcastic remarks, he saw Yana holding a child in her arms. The child and her were dressed in matching colors, and they appeared remarkably close.
Sieg's eyes widened, and he blurted out, "Wow! I've always said Yana plays harder than me. I knew she wasn’t as innocent as she made herself out to be! It seems that she gave birth to a secret love child in South City!"
Once Sieg finished speaking, he observed Yana's tender interaction with the child, accompanied by someone taking photos. The more he looked, the more convinced he became that his guess was correct.
If this wasn't her child, whose else could it be? Sieg hadn't considered for a moment that the child might not be Yana's. He just felt like he had caught Yana red-handed as he walked over eagerly.
Yana was capturing moments with Ellis, and the kid was just too adorable; no matter what they did, there were no tears in sight.
During Candice's brief absence, Yana had even gone out of her way to buy matching outfits for Ellis and herself. Today, both were clad in a delicate shade of yellow. The chubby little one resembled a tiny egg yolk, with a face as round as a chubby hamster’s. Yana couldn't resist showering the cute bundle with kisses.
Suddenly, a sharp and sarcastic voice pierced the air from above. "Yana, shouldn't you give me an explanation?"
Yana, puzzled, looked up and spotted Sieg's mocking face. She retorted, "Explanation for what? Wait, why are you here?"
"If I weren't here, would I have discovered the secret of your love child?" Sieg scoffed. The mockery in his eyes gradually turned into a cold sneer. "Nice tricks, Yana. I see you brought a love child for a blind date with me!"
Yana instinctively wanted to yell at Sieg, but before she could speak, she suddenly noticed Alex walking over from behind.
The words "You're the illegitimate child" were forcefully suppressed. She glared at Sieg, sharply retorting, "What business is it of yours? Besides, who would want to date you? Why would you ever think that I’d be willing to date you?"
Sieg's expression changed unpredictably. He squinted at Yana and bellowed, "Say that again!"
"Say that again? I will say that a hundred times! Sieg, are you crazy? There’s no relationship between us, so don't use that condescending tone with me. Remember, you're a failed blind date prospect!" Yana, still holding Ellis, was genuinely annoyed. But Alex was here, and she couldn't reveal Ellis’s parentage.
She glanced at Alex, who seemed distant with his faint expression, and suddenly her anger dissipated. Holding Ellis, she couldn't help but think about how Alex would react if he discovered Ellis was his daughter. It might just shock him to the core.
Yana held Ellis, relaxing a bit. Sieg had no idea what she was thinking, but he could tell she was quite pleased.
He gritted his teeth, looking at Ellis. In a sarcastic tone, he remarked, "Even if I’m a failed prospect, I wouldn't leave my offspring for a woman to raise. Yana, are you blind? You'd rather have a child
with a guy living off others. No wonder you chased after Mason for years, and he still didn't want you. You’re truly an idiot!"
Mason was a touchy subject when it came to Yana. Normally, if Sieg dared to bring it up, Yana would have exploded. However, today she just sneered and replied to Sieg, "Yes, you're right. The child's father is indeed worthless…"
She paused there, refraining from continuing the insult. She looked seemingly angry, leaving the sentence unfinished.
"Sieg, let's go." A cold and indifferent voice came from behind. Alex reminded Sieg, then turned and left. He didn't want to witness the clash between Sieg and Yana.
Looking back, Sieg mumbled an acknowledgment and, rather than arguing with Yana, followed Alex away.
When Candice returned, Yana was still holding Ellis, grumbling about Sieg being crazy.
Candice asked, "What happened?"
"Sieg and Alex came. Sieg said Baby Mulberry was my love child," Yana complained. "I didn't reveal Baby Mulberry's parentage. I just thought Sieg was an idiot."
Candice took Ellis from her, saying, "I know. Thank you." NôvelDrama.Org content.
Due to the unexpected encounter with Sieg and Alex, the group lost interest in continuing their outing. They decided to go home with Ellis.
This was Candice's first Christmas in South City, and it turned out to be lively. After dinner, Yana sat on the couch, scrolling through her social media.
After a moment's thought, she edited a few photos of Ellis taken today and mixed them with her selfies, then posted a nine-grid collage on her social media. Many people liked it, and only then did she belatedly realize she had forgotten to set the privacy settings.
But it was too late to undo it.
In a bar in South City, Sieg, holding a woman in his arms, whispered something to her. She laughed, charmed by his words.
Someone nearby commented, "Isn't that Yana's secret love child? Damn, she really looks like her."
Sieg glanced over, and the person immediately placed the phone on the table, sliding it in front of Sieg.
On the screen was Yana's selfie. Flipping one more photo back revealed the picture of her secret love child. They wore matching clothes and shared a similar expression. They really looked alike.
Sieg scornfully chuckled and casually pushed the phone back onto the table. "Stupid woman."
As he spoke, a slender hand reached over and took the phone. Following the hand, Sieg saw Alex looking at Yana's photos with a pensive expression on his face.
A strange feeling arose in Sieg. He asked Alex, "What are you looking at?"
Alex didn't answer as he continued to stare at the phone screen. Sieg persisted, "Alex, Yana is not your type. You know how bad her temper is. Besides, she went on a blind date with me."
Alex raised his face, his cold gaze fixed on Sieg. "What are you nervous about?"
He simply noticed a familiar figure in the corner of Yana's selfie.
Alex lowered his gaze. His slender fingers were resting on his knee, and his knuckles were distinct and oddly alluring.
His Adam's apple rolled as he spoke in a deep voice, "I won't go back to Dorrington tomorrow."
Due to the ski resort closure, their plans were postponed. Originally, they had intended to return to Dorrington the next day.
Sieg let go of the woman in his arms, asking, "Why?"
"Something came up suddenly. I might have to stay in South City for a few days," Alex replied.
His indifferent face, under the dim lights, took on an inscrutable emotion that others couldn't decipher.
