Chapter 115

Chapter 115

Candice’s grandfather wasn’t doing well. He looked at Candice with half–opened eyes and couldn’t say

another word after a long time.

The dean then reminded Candice from the back. “He kept on calling for you after he woke up.”

Candice tucked in her grandpa’s blanket and said, “Rest well. You can tell me about it tomorrow.”

However, he refused to let go of her hand.

The old man’s eyes began to wet as he pulled and moved his lips. “You suffered so much.”

He said it slowly, but every word was so clear.

Candice was stunned, unable to say a thing.

Her grandfather’s arm was still connected to the IV drip. He wanted to give Candice’s head a pat, but

because he had no strength, his hand fell in mid–air.

Eleven at night. The hospital’s corridor was quiet and empty.

Candice stood outside in the corridor before leaving the ward.

She could only feel the pressure in her chest being lifted once she felt the warm night air outside

blowing at her.

She couldn’t find any nurse at such a short notice and couldn’t ask the dean to accompany him, so

Candice had no choice but to stay by her grandfather’s side personally.

It was only on the second day when the dean came over with the nursery home’s nurse did she go

home.

Before she went home, she went to the doctor’s office one more time, trying to learn more about the

situation.

However, her grandfather’s condition wasn’t that optimistic. His health was already quite poor, and he

was quite old… And his organs were already injured earlier too, so all the doctor could do was give

Candice the bad.

news.

“The patient’s health is already quite poor, and he’s also suffering from some sickness already. The

main reason that caused this is emotional distress and high blood pressure.”

The doctor then reminded her, “You must take care of the patient’s emotional stability. We can save him

this time, but he might get a stroke or even a cerebral hemorrhage next time.”

Candice nodded with a serious expression.

Once out of the office, Candice took out her phone and gave Kayla a call, saying that she would be

back in the office by afternoon.

Now that she was back in Darrington City. couldn’t abandon him in his current condition.

However, she didn’t expect that Jackson’s call would reach her first.

Candice gave her head a massage before picking it up.

Jackson’s worried voice immediately came through. “You’re back in Dorrington City? I only found out

about

your grandfather.”

Candice had asked Jackson to take care of her grandfather earlier. She said, “Yeah. I’m at the hospital

n

now.”

When Jackson came over, he even brought some breakfast.

He looked at Candice worriedly and gently consoled her. “Don’t worry. Things aren’t that bad.”

Candice nodded. “I know.”

She v

whispered it, her tone light. Her face was full of fatigue.

Naturally.

She first came back to Dorrington City from Noxville in a rush, then stayed in the hospital the whole

night. It

would be strange if she wasn’t tired.

Jackson said, “I’ll take you back home for some rest first. You need to take care of your health too.”

Candice didn’t refuse. She was not in a good state.

Not to mention that she had to give Yvonne a call too.

Jackson had always been someone gentle. He left Candice downstairs and left.

Candice had left her home for almost half a month. When she reached home, everything felt familiar,

yet unfamiliar at the same time.

However, she didn’t think about it too much and gave Yvonne a call right next to the door.

Yvonne only picked up after a long time. The moment that she heard Yvonne’s voice, Candice closed

her eyes

and leaned against the door.

After a long time, she asked, “Do you know that Grandpa almost had a cerebral hemorrhage?”
