Candice frowned and held the document in her arms tightly.
Nina looked from the side, obviously upset. She couldn’t help but snort. “Ms. Renault, before you go for
the meeting, reapply your makeup first. You represent Aether now, you know?”
After resting for a while, Candice’s thoughts were much clearer now. She gave Nina a look and said,
“You’ve worried about too much.”
Alex had just told her last night that Nina wasn’t a staff member, so she had no right to worry about
Aether’s
image.
Nina was accustomed to Candice’s reserved behavior after following Alex for two days. Upon hearing
Candice’s retort, she narrowed her eyes and sneered.
“Aren’t you getting a bit too spoiled? You skipped work yesterday, and you slept during work today. You
have lived up to the expectation of being Alex’s good secretary.”
She added the emphasis on the words “good secretary”. Candice frowned and just wanted to say
something. and she heard Alex’s voice in a heavy tone. “Nina Burgess.”
The warning in his tone was obvious. There was a hint of regret in Nina’s eyes, but she said nothing
else in
the end.
After entering the meeting room, the aura of dispassion and rejection from Alex was even heavier. He
sat in the center seat as he looked straight at Charles Welch, the manager. “I hope you’re fully
prepared today.”
Mr. Welch quickly passed over a stack of documents. “The proposal and reports that you wanted are all
here.”
Mr. Welch was further away from Alex, so he pushed the documents to Candice first. She then passed
the documents over to Alex.
When Candice handed the documents over, Alex’s hand was extended toward her. Her fingers were
icy, but Alex’s skin was warm. She pulled her hand back promptly, as if she had been jolted by
electricity.
The meeting’s content was like the ones earlier. They were thinking of a way to break through their
opponent’s cutthroat competition. Candice would record the meeting minutes, and then search for
examples and data that Alex would need.
Other than that, Candice had a full understanding of Alex’s habits. At least with work.
And unlike last time, the meeting went very smoothly. However, when it was almost done, Mr. Welch
suddenly asked, “Mr. Elysian, now that Mr. Taylor’s position has been cleared out, do you want us to
hire someone new. or send over someone from headquarters?”
Mr. Taylor was that traitor, selling the data over to their competitors. Now that he had been fired, his
position was now empty.
However, Mr. Welch wasn’t sure how to proceed. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Alex paused and said, “I’ll think about it.”
After that, he stood up and left. Candice followed behind him..
After they turned around a corner, Alex suddenly stopped. He turned around and asked Candice, “Do
you want to stay in Stugan City?”
Candice was quiet for a moment and asked, “You want me to stay?”
While Stugan City had a fantastic environment, it was extremely far away from Dorrington City.
Without hesitation, Candice shook her head. “My grandfather is in Dorrington City. I can’t stay.”
Alex raised an eyebrow casually. “You sure?”
Candice was very sure. However, when Alex stopped discussing it, Candice was feeling anxious.
She couldn’t tell what Alex was thinking and was worried that he would force her to stay in Stugan City.
Her grandfather was in Dorrington City, and Candice didn’t want to move too far away from him.
Candice was thinking about it as she followed Alex back to the lounge.
Candice was still waiting for them. She raised her head and greeted Alex as she held her phone.
Candice placed the document on the desk, thinking of organizing it. Nina put down her mobile and then
looked at her with a dry smile. “Ms. Renault, can you please get me a glass of water?”
The water dispenser was close to Candice, so she didn’t think twice and got Nina a glass of water.
“I want hot water,” Nina said and complained to Alex, “The air conditioner for the lounge must have
been. maxed out. I’m feeling cold just waiting for you.
