Chapter 2334
Chapter 2334
Jordan was right about losing control after having a taste of something.
The fish had taken the bait, so there was no reason not to bring them ashore. I could only temporarily suppress the hatred in my heart as I lay there quietly.
Soon, I heard the sound of even breathing from beside me.
Jordan was a clever person, so he might not be a deep sleeper. A slight sound or movement could wake him up. I've already irritated him too many times that day, so it wasn't a good idea to continue provoking him. I couldn't risk undoing what I worked so hard to get.
I couldn't all asleep for most of the night. When it was almost dawn, I noticed signs of Jordan waking up, so I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep.
A few minutes later, Jordan got out of bed, put on his clothes, and went downstairs.
He made breakfast, placing on the table. By the time I arrived downstairs, he was no longer there.
I didn't have much appetite. Besides, I learned a lesson from the day before. I didn't intend to eat what Jordan gave me.
I turned back and went upstairs, planning to figure out what was in the other two rooms, yet I underestimated Jordan's cautiousness. The two doors were locked, and I couldn't open them.
I looked around the house but couldn't find any tools to undo the locks. I was a little upset.
I wanted to call for help, only to remember that my phone and bag were left behind at Andrea's house, and there was no available ways of communication in this house.
I had no choice but to run out of the house. I prayed that the dim light affected my vision last night, so I didn't find any other residents. However, the truth was that I could see everything clearly from the top of the mountain. After I got out of Jordan's house, I couldn't find any other buildings. He was really living alone.
I couldn't do anything, so I went back to recuperate. After staying up for almost a day, I was sleepy and soon fell asleep. When I woke up again, it was already dark. The bedroom lights were off, but the lights in the living room were bright.
At the end of the bed was a set of folded clothes. Jordan probably prepared those for me to change into.
I got out of bed, walking slowly to the living room. On the sofa, Jordan was staring at his computer with a focused expression.
I threw away my slippers before I stepped on the soft carpet, approaching him slowly.
When I reached the sofa, I stretched
my neck, and I could vaguely see the messages in the dialog box, which
had the words "the location of the transaction" mixed in it. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
It seemed that Jordan was dealing with those goods. As expected, every piece of information about the transaction was in the chat records. Everything was on his computer, to be exact.
I braced myself, getting ready to get closer to see more clearly. Suddenly, the phone on the table vibrated. A call was coming in.
Not noticing my presence, Jordan picked up the phone and put it on his ear, replying okay from time to time.
I breathed a sigh of relief, but Jordan hung up the phone quickly. "Go with that."
After putting the phone back on the table, he seemed to have felt something and looked back. Looking at my faked relaxed expression, he closed his computer with his hands before saying flatly, "Why didn't you sleep till the next morning? Was he complaining that I slept for too long?
"Without a mobile phone or a computer, there's nothing for me to do here. What else am I supposed to do? Stare at you?"
I walked to the other side of the sofa
and sat down with a straight face
According to my temperamente didn't
intend to be polite, especially
after just waking up.
Jordan didn't react at all, placing the computer on the table. With one arm on the armrest, he leaned against the sofa and ordered, "Change and follow me somewhere."
"I refuse." If I leave as soon as he called me, wouldn't that make me too complacent?
